RibbleValleyRover Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Good run by Hoilett gets a free-kick in a dangerous position.
beerwins Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Its about time we started drilling some crosses in, these floated crosses make it very hard to get any power in a header.
Eddie Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Why say things like that when you have absolutely NO IDEA what Allardyce has been saying to his players? Of course lack of quality has something to do with it, given their midfield is several times better than ours. Because as much as it would be nice to believer, footballers don't, by default, look to simply hoof the ball. The team consistently does it, particularly when we come out for the second half and I have never seen him shouting at them to stop or taking off the players who are most responsible. Similar things happened at Newcastle, similar things happened at Bolton. Many of these players have played for us for years and weren't so reliant on the tactic in the past (Samba, Nelsen, Emerton, MGP...) and others have played for other premier league clubs and managed to avoid doing it quite as much (Chimbonda, Diouf) and I somehow doubt that Salgado was taught how to do it as a youngster...
jny Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 How are they beating us in the air everytime? Also what a ridiculous yellow card, did he even touch the ball?

In the first half, as den said, we weren't really hoofing. When we had the ball we played it along the deck quite a bit but Spurs were just too good at keeping possession. Obviously there's been games where we have hoofed it too much but this isn't really one of them so far. Sam was very successful at Bolton and did an okay job at Newcastle, so god knows why you're bringing up those examples to support your own prejudices against the manager.
philipl Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Ball to middle of chest actually on the replay! Anyway samba booked.
Gogger Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Jones actually booked on their penalty. I thought it was Robinson who made it, but has to be Jones then. S*it ref.
Hughesy Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Pedersen so unlucky not to make it 2-1 Dunn on for MGP
Nelsta Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Gallas cleared off the line, Dunn on Peders off.
Rover Down Under Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Stupid dumb ref booking Samba for a ball to hand. Peders had a rasping shot blocked just before being subbed for Dunn, Roberts is looking mean again and we're playing much better this half.
Exiled_Rover Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Van der Whatever once again showing how soft footballers are. Get up you tart.
LeChuck Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Much better in the second half, it's a shame we lost the game in the first. I think today shows that we need to use that 5-4-1 formation carefully, 4-2-3-1 has been immeasurably better today since we changed to it. Let's not take today out of context though, if someone had offered us 6 points from 9 prior to Wigan, we would have bitten their hands off.
Rover Down Under Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Spurs have some vaguely familiar looking bloke warming up, I think he was once a great player for a great team then decided to destroy his career after he decided he was bigger than the club. Balls, 3-0 after a great save.
Exiled_Rover Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Dogpoo. We've made a very average side look like world beaters.
LeChuck Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 ###### Givet. Two goals he cost us today. He's been doing this for too long, he needs to be sold ASAP (mind you I've thought that for a while).
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Is it just me or has Givet been really poor this season?
philipl Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Bad mistake by Givet Shame because we were looking the more likely to score before that.
Eddie Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Is it just me or has Givet been really poor this season? He's always been pretty poor, but no one listened.
Commondore Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Oh Fael FFS. Yes, I misspelled his name. He has done nothing today to justify me correcting it.
beerwins Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Givet is a damn liability when he is off his game and going forward he is dog guff.
