Balwer Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 To say it's supposed to be something of a clash of playing styles, if anyone has looked like the 'footballing' side, it's certainly not Bolton. This is a very good point. They started out playing 'football' but when that didn't work they reverted to long ball. On the other hand we started out playing direct but once the defence settled we started playing up the flanks.

Exiled_Rover Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 What is Olssen playing at? Lucky not to be booked. Open play it's good stuff, just a shame about those shocking floated balls into the box we're playing again. We're also too bunched up on the left hand side. I still think Olssen's a promising left back who can make great runs forward rather than an out and out winger. Bright is a knob of the highest order. Wasn't it his Crystal Palace team that used to lump the ball upfield and out of play after every centre? Olsson's a better winger than a full back. He does his best work in the final third.
OsloRover Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Can't agree with those slating the team, we are containing Bolton very well and have most of the forward play as well. Excellent refereeing by the way. All we need now is the return of RYAN PEDERSEN!
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 I would expect Bolton to put Muamba on either at HT or shortly after.
Dan Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Agree that Battenburg has got all of the big decisions right - with the possible exception of not booking Olsson for the blatent dive. He was having his arm grabbed by the defender though? He did go down way too easily though. A show of desperation, though we weren't complaining when he dived against the Dingles were we? ;-) Zola can talk about dives, he was a master of the classic trailing foot drag into the goal keepers hand. Never forget that one at Ewood against Chelsea! >:-(
Backroom Tom Posted December 12, 2010 Backroom Posted December 12, 2010 Would like to see Hoilett or MB Diouf on for EH Diouf now, he has been really poor, really really poor. I like Ollson on the wing shame that he will be the one to suffer if we sign Nzogbia unless we could fit both in somehow. As for Clattenberg it was either a fould or a dive, can't be neither in that case
Backroom trueblue Posted December 12, 2010 Backroom Posted December 12, 2010 Bolton players certainly like shoving the opposition don't they? every time we go near one of their players, out comes the arm!
Miker Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 No need to book Olsson for that dive, he punished himself by destroying his own great run before applying the finish. Stupid to let your own effort go to waste like that.
Backroom Tom Posted December 12, 2010 Backroom Posted December 12, 2010 Davies seems to get away with what Roberts is constantly getting penalised for, he backs in every time.
philipl Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Mark davies lucky not to get a second yellow with that deliberate handball.
Amo Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Bright is a knob of the highest order. Wasn't it his Crystal Palace team that used to lump the ball upfield and out of play after every centre? You were saying?
Backroom Tom Posted December 12, 2010 Backroom Posted December 12, 2010 Mark davies lucky not to get a second yellow with that deliberate handball. Then he was all over Roberts as he broke away, if Roberts was weaker he would have been down
Backroom Tom Posted December 12, 2010 Backroom Posted December 12, 2010 How is that a foul yet the one on Ollson wasn't???? About time he was off dirty git
Backroom DE. Posted December 12, 2010 Backroom Posted December 12, 2010 Mark Davies sent off. About time too, dirty little player.
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Bolton started this half stronger as they are managing to keep possession better and seem to be able to get through us centrally far too easy at the moment- though they are missing that killer ball in the final third. Just need to hope we can absorb this pressure. Bolton now down to 10 men, need to take advantage of this.
Rover Down Under Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Bolton down to 10, Mark Davis, second booking for elbow on Jonesy.
Balwer Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Come on boys, use the man advantage now. Feel free to get off the pitch Davies.
Backroom Tom Posted December 12, 2010 Backroom Posted December 12, 2010 For me he could have had two straight reds today the foul for his first yellow was a leg breaker on another day and that was a blatant arm / elbow
Exiled_Rover Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Should be disciplined for taking so long to get off the pitch too. Yes! Lee is off. Things are looking up.
Backroom Tom Posted December 12, 2010 Backroom Posted December 12, 2010 Get Hoilett on now to attack with pace on either side really stretch them
Amo Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Get Hoilett on now to attack with pace on either side really stretch them Preferably for E. Diouf.
