SamTheShrew Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 When we used to play rugby at school, if we were too far ahead the games got ended early to avoid demoralising the other team too much. a good time to introduce this rule into football right now

RibbleValleyRover Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 7-0 Sam must be on dangerous ground here with the new owners.
Bobby G Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I need to use a 4 letter word begins with an F and ends with an UCK. This is hell.
Sysagent Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 7 - 0 Berbatov going for a double hat-trick? I am actually laughing here now it's that pathetic.
booth Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 When teams have been forced to refund the away fans in the past, today is one of those days. I will be emailing the club at full time to insist they do that!!!!!! I acknowledge I am not at the game before people say. I'm not at the game and even I'm going to try and claim some compensation. Taken years off me this performance, it's by far the worst I've seen them in a long long time. Even bypassing last years 6-2 drubbing at Arsenal and 5-0 at Chelsea. 7-0. Allardyce, sort yourself out or f*** off.
hollowsr Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 I can't wait to see what Allardyce says about this, if he doesn't accept any blame then it is a disgrace, but the players have to accept blame also but it can't come from Allardyce. And I bet anyone he brings up the Anderson challenge for the 1st goal as a reason also
BPF Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Just spoke to my Venky's contact. Well typed to each other anyway. The main jist of what he said is that the Rao family are said to be furious (understandably). Manchester United being the big name that it is, this was their chance to get people watching their new purchase in action. He told me that Sam can expect a phonecall this evening. Before you all get excited he is not going to get fired but I imagine he will be asked to explain what happened today. A six nil scoreline is not acceptable for a Premier League team.
Dan Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 :-( Someone tell me I'm having a bad dream? Bloody useless.
SamTheShrew Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 United will be going for it now to try and beat the Ipswich score. I bet they get it
Mr. E Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 And you know what the thing is? The current indescribable level of anger and humiliation we are experiencing will be nothing compared to what is awaiting in the media, the reactions of other fans, and history books in which this result is heading.
Amo Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 A six nil scoreline is not acceptable for a Premier League team. What about 7-0?
Plastic Head Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 The last time we conceded 7 was when Roger Jones went off injured at Shrewsbury. I thought I wouldn't ever see it but I think I will today. Not a hard prediction that one. Hope it doesn't get to 10... Wigan lost their first 2 6-0 remember and aren't too far behind us...

Or 8 Edit: Sorry still 7 game on
RibbleValleyRover Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Only a neutral can really answer this but how much is this due to United's quality or our shocking performance? From what i've seen United have played well but a lot of this has been a self destruction.
BRFC4Life Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 The smug armchair bandwagon supporting Man Utd fan who sits opposite me at work is gonna destroy me on Monday. Think i'm feeling some man flu coming on. Absolute disgrace today. Players and management should be ashamed of themselves.
mode_m Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Brilliant strategy by Sam. Perfect advertisement to the new owners for the need to buy quality players. Hope it doesn't backfire on him and they buy a quality manager as well. I never thought of that actually, good way to look on the bright side. How does Berbatov have 5 goals? This is the wost game I have ever watched and I am still watching it because it costs me a lot of money to subscribe to the cable channel.
MarkBRFC71 Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 7-0. 5 goals for a player who's not scored in 2 months. It's on the BBC World Service too, so Venky's are being embarrassed in front of their entire nation and the world. Absolute fooking disgrace.
Hughesy Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 BBC NEWS - Man Utd goal: This is quite extraordinary. Dimitar Berbatov has scored five goals for Manchester United this afternoon. No-one has ever scored six in a Premier League match You just know what is coming!!!

It is embarrassing to watch this game. The Venky's will now see what they have taken on. Now learn that a lot of dosh is required to build this team.

RibbleValleyRover Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 If United score one more it will be our heaviest defeat for 57 years.

I'm not surprised, but a major pummeling was always going to come due to Sam's attempts to play with a very weak midfield, one upfront and expecting the defense to contain a team for 90+ minutes week in week out. Oh and while you were typing they scored again. From the looks of things I can't see it staying 7-0.
