Was about to write the same...if there ever was an Allardyce-Style-Goal....this was it! Anyhow....1-0 up! Let's push on from here on out - do something about that horrible goaldifference after the ManUre-debacle..

I don't see how that was an Allardyce-goal. Sure, the finish was scrappy, but the key to the goal was Emerton's great cross. Why can't he hit 'em like that every time?

Much better so far. We're particularly effective with our interventions. Great decision to play the high line, it's worked well with the offside trap so far as well.

It's an Allardyce goal because, whether it was via a nice cross or not, the ball came into the box via the air and was scrambled in. It's how we scored 90% of our goals under him.

I have to say this is probably the one difference I've noticed, which is an unexpected one. We're flying into tackles a lot more and winning them which is giving us more of an impetus to get the ball forward.
