This season we’ve not progressed, we’ve gone backwards, and that’s the reason why I personally am delighted he’s been sacked.

How do you work that out? We're doing about the same as last season. I don't know how you can expect improvements with a £0 budget.

To say you're "delighted" is completely insulting to the job Sam did in saving this club after the Ince nightmare, and keeping our reputation as a top half club intact despite negative funds.

I'm getting fed up with all these "We're being kept in the dark" comments. When the hell did the Trust ever tell us anything before it was signed sealed and delivered? I mean we used to pride ourselves on the fact that they kept themselves to themselves.

In actual fact, isn't that exactly what Venkys appear to be doing...

At the end of the day the club is now owned by the Venkys and from the look of things they're going to put some real money into the club for the first time in around ten years. I think it's only fair that as a result they are given the chance to have their own people on board.

We can't have our cake and eat it!

I’ve supported this club for many years now, from the dark days of the old third division to the glory years in the 90’s. Never have I felt more disheartened than I have this season under Allardyce, I can’t help that, its just the way it is, and many more in our circle have been feeling the same.

People on here are drawn to the negative comments, but ignore the praise I personally gave him at the end of last season and in some part this. He did a great job keeping us up and played some decent stuff towards the end of that season, giving youth a chance was also great to see and his transfer dealings I was looking forward to.

BUT:

This season we’ve not progressed, we’ve gone backwards, and that’s the reason why I personally am delighted he’s been sacked. If we’d have given him a few more games, that would have impacted on transfer dealings in the January window and the owners wouldn’t allow that and I applaud them for that.

Ewood Sparks post hit a nerve with me, I think allot of what he says is valid, but for now I think they’re doing ok, lets see what happens.

On a brighter note, 5 of us are now looking forward to some away games for a change again, after our self imposed boycott under “No plan B Allardyce”

Exciting times

Fair point Gav but you'll be crying into your Hollands tatty pie if matters go t1ts up from here on.Let's hope this entertaining football you wish to see home and away doesn't result in a one way ticket to the Chumpionship. We had stability under Allardyce but thats just been kicked right out from under us.

HERE WE GO,HERE WE GO ,HERE WE GO!!

Not best pleased with this. I think they should have kept Sam in charge until the end of the season, then got rid if they wanted to. Then a new manager has the whole summer to prepare the team. I suddenly gone from an opinion of 'under Sam we will definitely stay up' to 'unless we get a proven better manager in we could struggle'.

What did you expect though, aggy? We know what they want us to know, and hopefully we will get some more information tomorrow from the interview.

This is unfortunately how all new owners act - and to be fair, we did know that a new manager would come in at some point.

The only surprising, and a bit worrying thing is the timing and how easy it supposedly was to get rid of Sam. I had thought that they at least wanted to keep him for the remainder of the season, and by then they would know more about football and what the Premier League is about.

I suspect that we will see an international manager come in, possibly Jol or someone of that ilk.. I just hope this isn't the end for John Williams' influence on the club.... a bit gutted to be honest. The combination of Big Sam's style and new money was, as some people has said, a safe bet. Now we have no idea what we will get - much like a few clubs I am a bit unwilling to compare us to.......

The stats say it all. 85% of people were against Sam being sacked, and that includes a 42% cut who arguably were happy with his stewardship.

I voted more time Bobby, but doesn't mean I necessarily supported Sam. I'd have used him until the summer to keep us up but I wouldn't have been happy to have given him any cash to spend in January to be honest. Bucky's right by the way, that poll can be picked apart in various ways.

Is Beckham still around, I think I'd rather have him in charge

Looks like we're going for the coach - "manager" - directer of football route here. We'll end up with a decent coach like Wilkins or Clarke and a mad man like Diego as the public face.

This could be genius or blow up in our faces....

I hope you're right Gav, trouble is that Venky's have kept us, as fans completely in the dark.

Eh? That is completely the right way to operate.

If we were to know, every other fan/club would also know. A good club can't be run in public.

What do you think they should have done, let the fans know last week that they were thinking of replacing Sam? Honestly...
