The LET, never out of touch...

Mirror saying Diego #Maradona for #rovers! How good would that be. Not heard anything official on that one so don't get carried away

To be fair, seeing as it's nothing more than a rumour, that's how we should all be seeing it.

if we make Maradonna our next manager then we will not only the laughing stock of english football, but the laughing stock of european football... who apart from Argentinian players really respect him??? who would really want to play for him??? he's nuts!!!

I'm disappointed at Sam going, as I thought we had started to improve from our early season form, and with the players we were linked to, things were looking up. I would have given him till the end of the season, we sure as hell wouldn't have gone down anyway!!!

I worry now, that the new owners are looking at us as a celebrity style play thing & not a serious football club, and perhaps they want to be popular & are trying to do it quickly... I'm confused & I hope it all blows over & we sign a good, well respected manager to lead us to glory & the Rao brothers fade into the background & leave JW to do what he dies better than anyone else... Run our beloved football club!!!

Maradona?

Relegation

I don't know how you can say that - with the best player in the world in his team - and two of the best strikers playing Europe he managed to ..... hmmm yes I see where you are going with this.

No positive head on - he never had a team to manage with the midfield powerhouse that is Super Keith - or the finishing prowess of Roberts ..... hmmmm

To be honest it will all depend on what his role was - and who was brought in to support him. He would without doubt give us a huge profile boost - but he would also need the funds to back this up. A very high risk strategy as we don't have the income to cover a vast increase in the wage bill - unless they are taken on as Venky's employees rather than Rovers.

Wouldn't be a surprise at all, in fact I expect it to happen, he will have no real power now and imagine he was close to retiring anyway.

Wasn't at Ewood at the Disabled supporters Xmas party tonight.

I understand that John Williams has tendered his resignation. A bad day for the future of the club.

That would be really bad news - for me it would throw into doubt the plans that Venky's have for the club. After all - if JW could see that Rovers would eventually be better off with whoever they have lined up he would have gone along with it (though probably with regret at Sam's departure)

Seems like the Rao boys are modelling themselves on Mahmoud Ahmadinejad....

Manoucher Mottaki [iranian Foreign Minister] was fired while visiting Senegal without any prior indication that his job was under threat.

Analysts say that the change suggests intrigue at the highest echelons of the theocratic state, in the ongoing factional power struggle in Tehran.

Just swap the names over, 'Senegal' for 'Greggs' and 'Tehran' for 'Pune' and the story could read word for word.

Psychotic minds think alike?

Christ, I feel sick.

Even in the days of the Paul Ince saga I knew we had a great structure in place at our club and JW would see us through. But even if this resignation story isnt true what power does he even have anymore? :(

We have owners in place who seem to have the capital, but want to put maximising their brand far above any concerns about the welfare of the club. They're out of control.

WORRIED!!!

I think people should let Venkys know just how worried they are....they have their own facebook page which they often reply on.

If JW has gone then im not suprised (personal reasons), however I would have hoped for him to stay till summer and see us through the transitional period.

Surely your not surprised their whole PR so far has been about Venky's and Rovers in the background.

This is going to need some serious running repairs now, I hope the LT have the balls to ask the right questions tomorrow.

I can't help but thinking Allardyce brought this upon himself in some ways. He's arrogant, has a huge opinion of himself, plays football the most cynical way possible and always stands by it. If you have all these characteristics and someone new comes in, chances are pretty high that they just won't like you...

Considering our results this far in the league I'd say it's fair to call this sacking both unjust and unnecessarily complicating things. The real damage done to Blackburn Rovers F.C tonight is however not the loss of Sam Allardyce, it's the loss of our way as a levelheaded club who won't make stupid knee jerk reactions like Newcastle.

Also 7-1 at Old Trafford wont help either.

On a brighter note, 5 of us are now looking forward to some away games for a change again, after our self imposed boycott under No plan B Allardyce

Exciting times

Names please Gav. Just for my future reference. ;)

Personally I'll hardly be able to drag myself down for a home game. Maybe the board could introduce some kind of scheme for people to sell ST's that they were otherwise going to burn.

What ff say Martin Jol comes in. Is handed 20-25 million to play with and starts us playing football again. Might help...

And what if Martin Jol comes in say and is then handed the square root of sweet FA like Allardyce was? What then Joe?

What the hell, I'd be terrified but it would be an exciting ride!

If we could get Steve Clarke in as his assistant then it could be perfect...

Madness. wtf has supercoach, manager of the future Steve Clark done for West Ham?

However if it happens I think there may be some light at the end of the tunnel for us all. From the footage of him walking across the pitch at Fulham I'd be suprised if he isn't dead before the next years out.
