No, i'm not happy with how it is and has been handled, but i'm now thinking that i might actually look forward to going to the games now instead of knowing we were going to be subject to dross.

Will you still turn up when Rovers start losing and slowly sink down the divisions ? I've been there and done that over the past 50 years in the old 2nd and 3rd divisions and I don't want to experience it again but Allardyce's departure has made that far more likely in my view.

Will, I believe, has been there for many years Jim and seen the lean times also. So like you and me, he'll be there if we fall down the divisions also because we're Rovers fans.

.........and you TGM are exactly the type of fan I laugh at, for not having a girlfriend and spending far to much time on sites such as this, you need to get out and see a bit of the world, not everything revolves around SSN and this site :tu:

Now please leave me alone, I don't want to fall out with you, but you're making it difficult.

  I've been going on five to six holidays abroad a year for the last two and a bit years, the last three have been with the girlfriend.

Still, by steering the conversation away from the football and towards my life which you know even less about so it seems, you've managed to demonstrate you've lost the argument.

Congratulations

Unbelievable!

Disgusting and disgraceful... One of the worst days in over 20 years of supporting the club.

Like his football or not Big Sam deserved respect for the amazing job he has done at Rovers.

Negative transfer budget, no money at all in the summer, and he saves us from a likely relegation, gets us to 10th the next season, has us mid table this season, and brings through a large group of young players at the same time.

The fact that this has happened and the circumstances surrounding bring embarrassment and shame on the club. I've reserved judgement on the new owners and even been cautiously optimistic given the recent names that have been linked with us. Judge them on their actions I thought, and now this...

If I were JW I'd probably resign.

Sure they may do some good stuff in the future, we might get a good new manager and some money, don't know yet, but sacking our manager because he wanted his own players... It's just wrong.

I've always been proud to be a Rover, the small club battling the big boys, the family club, the real football club... now I don't know.

Still too angry to be articulate... but Venky's have made me wish we were still owned by the trust even with no money, at least we would still be proud and have JW in charge (whether he resigns or not, he clearly isn't).

Thanks Sam

Great Post. Just how I feel.

Everyone i spoke to last night was over the moon with the sacking. It is just the timing of it that i find strange.

So out of 12 people i have spoken to 12 wanted him to go. Thats 100%. Thats my poll and is probably the most accurate one around.

12 out of 12. Really?

God, I can just imagine the type of neanderthal mates to whom you asked that question.

you don;t even know "mantits" Alan, "Scamming" Pete, and "He'll do anything" Andy (he's called that because he will do anything)

They are great guys and their opinion count, true Rovers fans.

Jim, I dont want to go into all that, how long i've been following them etc etc. I dont need to, i'm as loyal as the next man.

There will never come a day when i dont go (unless the big fat argentine comes along).

So it transpires the new owners with their "vision" for the club are in no rush to find a new manager... this is infuriating !!

I would question the owners: if you are in no rush to replace Allardyce, then why sack him? If you've no replacement lined up why not let him continue the good job he is doing whilst you continue to put more thought in to your "vision" for the club? Once you've got some real interest from alternative managers then consider if they are better placed to deliver your vision than Allardyce and, if you still want an alternative approach, ask Allardyce to resign! Your timing (ahead of a very congested Christmas fixture list) is appalling, shows you either have very little knowledge of football and Blackburn Rovers (for evidence of this I point towards the last ten years where stability in our management has been key to our success) or you just don't care for owning a Premier League club and your ambitions lie in the Championship.

I have very little optimism that our season will improve now.

Oh yeah, add to that the Rao family's intention not to invest vast sums of money in the playing staff - who is better proven at getting the best out of limited resources than Allardyce?!

Venkatesh Rao has done yet another radio interview on Radio Lancashire.

Even more confusing than before.

He had said someone was in the pipeline and they knew who they wanted - now he is saying the 'two month' thing.

Wonder if the target said 'no.'

Also said wanted someone 'younger and more energetic' than Sam...

And that there would be signings - whether there was a manager or not - because they had 'contacts.'

I am now going to find a darkened room.

Also Nicko there is an interview with Ms Desai from Pune who said that Kean is in charge til the END of the season!

To quote the Pune Mirror: "Desai said that there is no unrest or insecurity amongst the players and the decision to discontinue with Allardyce was taken after consulting and convincing 95 percent of the team members."

Now I believe our new owners are also liars - MGP, one of our top performers this season and longest serving (current) players, certainly didn't have a clue!

Fantastic spot.

So the old Scottish scoop monster has not lost his marbles after all.

Very revealing interview.

It's odd how people are more comfortable talking to ther own countrymen. But that is understandable.

Good to hear. Backed him at 10s this morning. A fine day all round.

I'm very much willing to give them a chance and I think that in the long-run the Sam sacking may turn out to have been the right decision, but to have done it with no real replacement ready and seemingly no concrete plans in place seems daft.

I don't fully understand a lot on here. Allardyce was quite unpopular from the very start and our football was never exciting. We were terrible away from home, we wrote off several games a season and I have to admit that I sometimes struggled to enjoy games even when we were winning (recent victories in particular...even when winning 3-0).

I think they actually deserve a bit of respect for making the decision to cut ties now rather than tread water for 6 months and spend money on players that they next man may not like.

It is now clear that they will rely on Kentaro for signings, perhaps exclusively, but if that is the case they should be up-front about it. Appointing Kean could be masterstroke, it could be a horrible mistake, but just play it with a straight bat and say that they intend on keeping Kean on as a head coach and that a manager/technical director/director of football combination will be put in place when the right candidates are found.

We can safely rule out the likes of Jol or MON as they would never take up a position where they will not have the final say on transfers.

The new owners need to be given time. If they are going to invest in the club and if they are aiming high then they have every right to bring in their own man and it was probably necessary. If they aren't going to back this up with any money then it was an idiotic decision. What they have done now is put the ball firmly in their own court. It is time for them to act. Time for them to make some smart decisions. Most importantly it is time for them to sort out their PR and stop looking like confused fools in the media.

I've waffled enough now.

Got him at 16s this morning with Bet365, but will bookies pay out on the market when it will be "next PERMANENT manager"? Will we have to wait until the summer if he is viewed as an interim until then?
