Harry on Sam's sacking

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp feels Blackburn could be "bang in trouble" after sacking Sam Allardyce

Redknapp added on BBC Radio Five Live: "When new owners come in they've all got mates or have heard of someone who is good... they haven't got a clue really.

Well said 'Arry. Wasting his breath though because the "experts" on here think we'll be better off without him.

Maybe you should catch up with Mrs Desai's Indian interview and find out that Maradona is/was the first choice.

Blackburn Rovers, the Premier League's version of the village idiot.

As much as I wanted a change from Sam this lot think that a cokehead is the answer to our problems ? A man so reviled after 'you know what' we'll get booed at every ground ?

I know where you are coming from. But I can't stress enough...read the Pune Mirror interview. It is a top-class summary of events and the most honest answers yet.

There's nothing else to do apart from "keeping the faith". I think we will be pleasantly suprised in the long run.

OK that is a possible construct, I accept that. However you'd expect the Venky's team to be on board wouldn't you? Hardly a revelation I'd have thought.

The other explanation is far more plausable.

At the very least its slack communication. And we've seen too much of that.

Even in the tightest of boardrooms there are splits and differences of opinion, no reason why such a big decision wouldn't provoke something similar amongst members of the 'team'

Agree with you on the communication part though, there needs to be something comprehensive from the top - Saturday's program would be ideal.

The beauty of football is that results decide things.

If he does well he will be a hero.

If he doesn't a lot of people will be up to their necks in chicken sh!t.

It does question what their PR guys are playing at though doesn't it? Do they think the Pune Mirror is our homepage on our intranets?

I can forgive them not knowing about the game, the supporters or our club, to an extent, however, the way they've conducted this so far has just been plain bad business, now that is something they should know, isn't it?

I do agree that things seem a bit more clear after reading the article, so fair dues, I for one don't like the Maradona link, in whatever capacity, it just makes us look a joke.

Honest?

Quote:

"Desai said that there is no unrest or insecurity amongst the players and the decision to discontinue with Allardyce was taken after consulting and convincing 95 percent of the team members."

a) 95% of the players were not ok with this, or else why have all of them been in complete shock? Plus Dunn said the players have never met Venkys.

B) If she is talking about staff members/board why was JW and Finn so mad this morning?

I say she is lying if that interview is correct.

I think you have to read the Pune Mirror interview again.

I have and whilst it may be a top class summary as you put it, it also makes me think more than ever than our owners talk rubbish.

Maradona, this is not an evil wind-up FFS!

I have to say there have been confused messages about this. They have a lot to learn in that department.

However sometimes people speak more openly with people they know. This seems to be the case.

I am sure the local paper was not aware of the Maradona link when they spoke to Mrs D. So it was not mentioned. Just a vague comment about 'mabe British, maybe not.'

The Pune paper picked up on the Maradona story and got a very frank set of answers. Good for them.

You are right. They need to address this issue, but today's mysteries have been cleared up by that interview.

The brother was probably vague because he wasn't sure what was out thereHe acknowledge that the 'target' had been 'mentioned' and this was clearly Maradona. Then he adjusted later and said they wouldn't have their man immediately.

It caused a fair amount of consternation throughout the day. But after the Pune Mirror interview I think everything is now obvious.

Let me deconstruct this for you:

"Desai said that there is no unrest or insecurity amongst the players (STOP & BREATHE) and the decision to discontinue with Allardyce was taken after consulting and convincing 95 percent of the team members (VENKY'S TEAM NOT THE PLAYING STAFF)."

There is no unrest within the playing staff.

She consulted with all the Venky team and the majority agreed it was the best thing to sack Sam.

She didn't consult or say she had consulted with 95% of the players.

Please remember that you are reading foreign websites. Don't take things so literally.

Maradona, this is not an evil wind-up FFS!

But THEY are the owners. It is THEIR decision. It might seem bizarre and far-fetched, but that is what they liked as an idea.

Spin the clock back 20 years and people were laughing at the thought of Kenny Dalglish joining mid-table First Division side Blackburn Rovers...

Sometimes it pays to think outside the box.

In light of recent events in both Newcastle and Blackburn, surely you can't mean that?

Fair enough, I know what you mean.

But Alan Pardew was a Cockney conspirator until he beat Liverpool 3-1.

Steve Kean is probably a no-mark to most. But if he beats West Ham he will immediately be a darling.

Football is fickle.

Are you suggesting there is no unrest or insecurity among players then? I know Dunn, Nelsen, Roberts, Gamst, Diuof was pretty unsure of the future... (Interviews, their own blogs etc)

Still don't think she is lying?

Read it three times now, it's like the caring mother covering for the two silly boys mistakes "there good boys really"

Three voices have to become one for me to respect anything that comes out of their mouths, Id suggest no further comments from the chuckle bros.

Did you take note of the date/time stamp 11.54pm local time, probably interviewed earlier in the evening, which is why I see it as covering over all the mistakes made today by all three of them.

Only four actual quotes from her, the only one being different from any other made today is the Maradona one.

A bit ironic to say results decide things, when Sam was in the business of results and some people werent happy.

A bit funny to say 95% of the players were CONSULTED BEFORE the sacking when for a fact we know that Diouf, Roberts, and Pedersen had no clue until the news broke on TV.

Not at all.

Mrs D gave an interview to the local paper in Blackburn which was obviously done yesterday evening. Nobody asked her about the Maradona thing because they didn't know. So it was a vague interview.

But it DID say Steve Kean was going to be in charge - a line most missed.

Then Venkatesh talks to Bee FM or whoever and admits they have someone in mind who has been mentioned.

Then Venkatesh tells Radio Lancs they don't know when they will be able to appoint.

Then Mrs D answers a lot of straight [and better] questions from her local rag in Pune.

Job done.

I think she was talking about HER team and not THE team.

No owners ever consult players. Or shouldn't. They are employees after all.

Anyone heard any comments from the players today?

I'm familiar with Roberts, Nelsen and Gamst from yesterday but would be interested in any response today. Presume they've come in and met Kean and realised there is to be no planned appointment / master plan.
