den Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 If it's Hughton I'm in the River Lostock tonight. See ya. Good luck guys.
PAFELL Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 With Sam Allardyce's shocking sacking today, I guess the speculation (and rumours) of who the new Rovers boss will be can begin..... Speculate away..... My choice now would be houghton (spelling) hughes the one at WBA - forgot his name.
riverside returns Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 big name wanted!!! Big name may be coming. Not the usual dross!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Didn't Maradona want to become a Premier League manager? I wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Alex Rover Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Rumour that Sam may go to West Ham to try and do what he did for us. That would make Avram Grant available. Yikes.
Amo Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Hughton & Holloway still have a lot to prove at the top-level. That's the kind of gamble that could see us relegated.
AJW Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 http://www.paddypower.com/bet/football-specials/manager-specials/-2298039.html the 2 Martins favourite 4/1...Shearer at 16/1?

The Gull Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Didn't Maradona want to become a Premier League manager? I wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry. Just what I was thinking when I seen him on the list at 33/1. Would certainly generate the publicity they are after!
tonygreenbank Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I would like Gianfranco Zola who is available
Bobby G Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Unless these exotic names like Jol or Rijkaard are given a lot of money, there is no point. Plus mid-season, what a risky move this was. Not O'Neill. Please not O'Neill.
watty Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Who ever they bring in now it has to be a BIG name to warrent the Sacking and get the fans back on bourd, frank rijkarrd anyone?
John Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 The word average comes to mind when looking at the potential replacements...
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I think we should wait and see who is linked, the departure of both Sam and McDonald might mean we may see someone linked pretty soon. I do know I definitely don't want O'Neill as manager.
reybr Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Wouldn't surprise me if Eriksson arrives. Kentaro was the agency that brought him to City and now they are Venky's advisors?
MarkBRFC71 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 http://www.paddypower.com/bet/football-specials/manager-specials/-2298039.html the 2 Martins favourite 4/1...Shearer at 16/1? Can't believe than Jose and Capello are 50/1. That makes me at least the same in that there's as much chance of me being Rovers manager as those two ....
ptholt Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I cant see it being king kenny, he would never come back. martin jol doesnt play particularly exciting football or didnt at spurs so cant see him fitting the bill (not sure how he has got on in holland). martin o'neill would only come if we have hundred of millions to spend. dave jones or holloway being touted at my bookies
Dunnfc Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Its going to be boring martin jol I want bilic in! and venkys out ... truly a sad day for any rovers fan!
daveoftherovers Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 You've got to ask what the score with the bookies is, Gary F'ing Megson at 10 to 1????? Whoever said they were unimpressed with the list thus far has got it spot on for me. Not a great day for the club, I just hope there is a suitable explanation for this. I know all the Sam haters will be made up, that's for sure, who do they want then????? Thankyou Sam for Keeping us up and last years 10th.
Backroom Tom Posted December 13, 2010 Backroom Posted December 13, 2010 What are the odds on a Hodgson return? May be out of a job soon enough. Please don't be Curbishley, Hughton, Dowie or the like. Riikjard or Maradonna would be the 'worldwide' names if they wanted to go that route but would be pricey. Is Laudrup out of football due to illness at present? You have to think someone will be in quick now.
Valois Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Who ever they bring in now it has to be a BIG name to warrent the Sacking and get the fans back on bourd, frank rijkarrd anyone? Rijkarrd would be a great option, but im not sure he would be tempted with Rovers. Im sure if he was to try his hand in the PL it would be with one of the bigger clubs. Jason Robers on Sky Sports News, he sounds delighted Big Sam has gone. Not surprised really.
