The resident journo does not think that the Boyd/Geovanni link is true. I think he described it as mischief making by another party.

Make of that what you will

Think we are vulnerable to journo's taking advantage of our naive owners to send out negative press.

To turn around the current situation we need a quick appointment or a few results from Keano..

Just a thought: remembering the last time the club appointed a Manager who didn't have all the coaching badges to be acceptable to the Premier League as a Manager, does anybody on here know if Kean already has all the appropriate badges?

personally i think the most worrying thing at the moment is the mixed signals we seemed to be getting from the owners and a lack of real clarity. the disapointing thing about sam is the fact that there seems to be no imediate replacement and its not like he was doing a terrible job, im not his biggest fan by any means but he did get us results and if you look at the position he had us when he joined to the position he had when he left you can't really knock him for the work he has done here whether you like sam or not. Personally i am slightly worried with some of the managers being linked even Holloway is unproven over a long period at this level. i am hoping for hughes though as with some financial backing we could have a cracking team under him. it is all slightly worrying though at the moment. btw this is my first post so go easy on me!

I have supported the Rovers since the late 70's , and though I backed the appointment of Sam after the debacle of Ince , I initially was relieved when he was sacked.

I hate the way we play.

Never under Smith , Iley, Pickering , Kendall, Saxton , Mackay, Dalglish, Harford, Kidd, Hodgson, Souness, Hughes or even Ince have I struggled to motivate myself to go to watch the team. I have really struggled to do this under Sam, despite (or especially) because I have 2 young sons who I am introducing to the game (and Rovers) , and I dont want to teach them them that long ball and cheating (Diouff against Fulham) is good.

I am generally a 'glass half full man', and was hoping that somebody was lined up so that we could splash the cash in January.

Reading the LET and listening to our new owners today however , has left me feeling cold. I fear we are in the hands of naive amateurs with good intentions.

KRIS BOYD & GIOVANNI FFS!

If our new new owners are reading this can I please plead for a sensible appointment, my wish list would include:_

1. Grayson - I really rate the work he has done with BPool & Leeds

2. Holloway - Fantastic job he has done , fantastic personality , what a ride he would give us.

3. Chris Hughton - Fantastic job done at Newcastle, a very dignified and humble man who demands respect.

Granted , these people would not be big impact global names , that would impact our brand name across the globe , but we would play better football and I think we should be going for the 'slow burn', gradually improving our image. (dramatically improving our brand of football.)

THEY WOULD HOWEVER REQUIRE A SIGNIFICANT CASH INJECTION.

Sam's sacking was unfair given the job he has done. The negative reaction to it from the majority of Rovers fans has reflected this. I dont however believe we would ever play attractive football under his management.

Apologies if this post is rambling, but I needed to get it off my chest and have had a few wines!

Makes perfect sense to me mate :)

Cheers , one of my 1st posts!

Well it is probably a typical view of a long standing Rovers fan (I've been going since Ken Furphy took over).

I don't know whether Venkys have been advised or are just pure lucky, but up here in Glasgow Kean is spoken of extremely highly...."the new Fergie" even by one or two, who's judgement on football matters I totally respect, so I'm cautiously optimistic. Scottish managers have done ok at Ewood since I started going (Mackay, King Kenny, Souness) so fingers crossed eh?

Who needs a big name, we just need big results and performances.

Nice comment from one of our former players (from BBC)

Former Blackburn captain Tim Sherwood is also being linked with the job but says he is content working as assistant coach to Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp.

"I'm happy learning under the best manager you could possibly have at the moment," said Sherwood.

"I'm busy gaining my qualifications at a great club but who knows when new opportunities arise? I have not been approached but 100% I want to be a manager.

"Blackburn are a great club, a fantastic club, the best club I've ever played for, even if they were not the biggest."

I guess he didn't feel that way when he instigated a dressing room revolt against Hodgson?

if there are any actions going to be taken this weekend .... Please....... let it be somewhere along the lines of - NO! NO! NO! to maradona! That guy was clueless in managing argentina! The thought of him managing a much less talented side like rovers, has Disaster written all over.

Interesting note on the betting on Betfair which may explain why Kean is red hot favourite that if Kean is appointed temporary manager and manages for 10 consecutive Premiership games, they pay out on him.

So whilst it may be unlikely he is still managing us this time next year, the market we are watching closely could well have been settled.

For Venkys to redeem their face in Blackburn, they can only get away with appointing a manager now, who is a winner at the highest level. Failure to do so will severely harm their credibility and just expose them as not being good enough to take Blackburn Rovers football club forward.

The balls definitely in Venky's court now.

absolutely, positively and 110% agree. if they don't appoint a seriously high profile manager, of the highest order...they'll lose the fans qquicker than any of em can blink!!

Looks like that Jerome Anderson will become director of football at Rovers. Rovers wany a 'figurehead' boss and a first team coach in a new setup.

Also said in the article that If the Maradona move fails the Indians will go for another mega-star name as they look to replace Sam Allardyce and make the big-time in the Premier League and also put their company in the spotlight.

Names like Sven Goran Eriksson, Knilsmann and Rijkaard would surely be in the frame. Would be better managers than ****ing Maradona!!!!

Nicko makes it sound like somethings going to happen sooner rather than later, but I cant see it. Too many crossed signals.

Personally, my opinion is JW is staying to prevent a complete fall-out at the club and with the fans, however, with the plans that Nicko outlined, I dont see where JW fits in at all.

Well he fits in the same place he always has doesnt he? Chairman.

Honestly, some of you people seem to think that these guys were just going to allow things to run exactly the same as it was.

They are hands on, John Williams is not going to rule the roost anymore.

I have nothing against Williams, and certainly am glad he has stayed on, for however long that might be, but things are changing at the club.

My only hope is that they do not hire that vile individual Maradona, that will certainly bring them under scrutiny for me.

Big Sam most certainly did not deserve the boot, and everyone (or most) are rightly upset about the way it was handled, but business is business.

Here goes with another day, wonder how much time SSN will afford us today, or how much air time we will create.........

I also am fairly optomistic with regards to Steve Keane. Not a big name but has slowly gone about his job. He is respected by the players - not a bad start in itself.

It would not surprise me if Chris coleman eventually comes into the frame - I think he is currently at Larrisa.

Todays LET is reporting that Shearer would be interested in taking the job.

I would rather have Shearer than Maradona.

After calming down after yesterdays hysterics I think it is good that Keane will be given a chance. Never heard of him before but after reading comments\reports about him he sounds like a good guy who the players respect.

Kenny was a lot more than just a figurehead, don't forget he'd done a good job at Liverpool before us too. And Ray proved that whilst he was a great coach he wasn't a great manager, so clearly Kenny did a hell of a lot more than just be the "figurehead".

I'm not sure about that. The coaching and tactics was upto Harford. Kenny brought the players in and was the disciplinarian. The dressing room fell apart after he moved upstairs. That's what I read in Le Saux's book anyway.

Another thing about this "list", only because Boyd and Geovanni are the only ones mentioned it doesn't mean they were the only ones on it.

I hear last night that Coleman didn't take the job at Larrisa....

Also, what would the board think of Hughesy coming back? Would he come back, would Fulham let him go and what would we think?

Moyes for Rovers?

Could never see Moyes happen however would be a good appointment.

Is he good? Or is he over-rated?

Media was talking about a top 4 push this season & they have a much better squad, yet still below us in the league suggests he isnt living up to expectations?

He owes alot to Evertons academy too!
