still dont understand why sack a manager and not have someone lined up? i know its sounds underhand but surely it would have been better to get someone lined up then sack the manager

Venky's say they are not interested in Diego Maradona. Oops Daily Mirror #brfc #rovers

More Oops Venky's given Mrs D was quoted directly in an interview about Maradona in the Pune Mirror. Anyway more opportunity for journos to scrap over who didn't say what with Venky's than any other club owner since Barry Fry was at Peterborough.

You would think the local paper would have had Mrs D's quotes...

They could not have been much more specific.

But that is why some people never get beyond local papers.

How much extra cash do you think they will have after expansion into 25 new countries?

More than at the moment I would imagine. That might be interesting.

Expanding into 25 countries will swallow cash like crazy even if the business plan looks sweetly cash neutral. I have expanded a business into three European countries and know just how stretched cash becomes. In the early days everything you learnt about cash flow management goes through the window particularly if you have made a big noise about the expansion and you have corporate credibility at stake.

I am both confused and concerned with our owners varying statements and worry greatly that they have completely no idea where they are going, Kean will be manager and if he does well he could be in the frame is one statement, then on Talksport it is announced Kean will not be considered for the job!!

Maradonna has been approched, yet today it will be a manager with EPL playing experience, but then if an outstanding

candidate from abroad was available it could be him!!!

I really do wonder what we have bought into with this lot, christ, this is making the Dingles look an organised outfit, all we need now is for Ricky Tomlinson to turn up as manager, what a total shambles.

Ive held back from posting anything over the last few days, mostly because I am only going to say what others have said. However, I would like to express my new found enthusiasm regarding rovers!!

The last few days have been a rollercoaster of emotions that have spun through the the loop of excitement, tumbled down the spiral of shame & that is only the beginning

For 2 & a half years now it has been pretty boring being a Rovers fan, last time i remember a little excitement was when Paul Ince was appointed & we all sat up till the early hours to hear what Nicko could tell us

Since then Rovers have been predictable & lets face it, Boring!!!

Football, these days, is all about business & marketing, loyalty has long gone & we are loosing site of why we all love the game

Some of you may scoff as i am a fan from the Walker era!! I chose Rovers as a 12 year old in 1992 because they represent a dream, coming from the lower leagues to be crowned Champions of the best league in the world meant that anything could happen. Seeing us relegated only to rise up again with a new band of heroes saw my dream continue

So today uncertainty reigns!?! well, so be it!! At least I am allowed to dream again!!!

One would think they had someone lined up when giving Sam the sack. If not, then why act now? Just enforce the 'Kentaro targets list' on Big Sam and tell him to take it or leave it. If he had resigned as a result of this then Venky's wouldn't have to pay compensation. And if he had accepted it then come summer he would be gone anyway, and Sam knows how to survive in the PL.

Odd timing of everything, would love to get to know some more facts as to why now - not just the usual jibberish.

The confusion exists all round.

Both Sky and Talksport did not listen to the latest interview properly.

It was not hard to follow.

But...the info coming out is also mixed.

Kean has been given a run of two months/three months/the rest of the season depending on Mrs D's mood at the time.

And in the space of a day Maradona has gone from someone who was the first they considered to someone they considered BEFORE they had a club...so what were they considering him for?

Looks to me like Kean can make the job his own - and that is not just from listening to the interviews.

But the door has to be kept open in case someone 'sexy' comes along.

It is all becoming rather wearing.

i think Mrs D said more than that.

Kean in charge. Maybe three months now, but that seems to change daily.

Maradona was their first idea but now back-tracking.

looking for other possibles.

But gives Kean such a push that he has a huge chance.

Not too keen on old regime.

Nicko, could you please expand more on this. How far is the "old regime"? Does that mean Big Sam and McDonald, or does it go further into the structure of BRFC? How much of the "old regime" will they want to get out?

She was hammering the 'negative attitude' against big teams.

This tallies with something I heard about the Man U defeat being the final straw.

I believe the Raos and Desai family were very embarassed about that one.

The way she talked up Kean makes me think he has an almighty chance of getting this.

Worth a listen.

They would be idiots if they always listen to the fans, we are not professionals and many fans that didn't like Sam I doubt they voted

I liked Sam but I'm open minded to their plans slightly confused and worried

but hopeful

Yes of course, but I don't think it would take much to see how fans would react... They could have just had a look at the Newcastle situation. Plus, I don't rate this lot as professionals when it comes to managing a football club either.

Here is the interview with Desai.

http://www.thebee.co.uk/news/review.php?article=330307

Apparently she thinks we are close to a relegation battle, and that Sam is not the man to take us out of it because of the way we lost at old trafford. Too negative she says.

Kean is a more positive man who will try hard to beat even the better teams.

What a load of crap. Sam have an amazing record of keeping teams up. Kean is new to this situation...

for me, Id like to see Sven with Pearce as his assistant in the dressing room getting em going....Sven knows a good player and he's got contacts man....And he is a "big" manager in my opinion...Tugay to come into the backroom as coach too.

Sven ruled himself out saying he would sign a 5 year contract with Leicester if he got the offer.

Desai getting a bit of humour based stick here - http://www.football365.com/

Actually, we're not sure about Roger Federer but Blackburn chairperson Anuradha Desai - quoted this morning as saying talks had begun with Diego Maradona - has now said the Argentine is "not being considered, not now and forever". She has also made it clear that Sam Allardyce "definitely didn't fit in" with their long-term plans to stay well clear of relegation. Really starting to love this lady

A great piece on LT

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/8738352.Blackburn_Rovers_blog__Which_fans_did_Venky___s_ask_/?ref=rss

When Venky's took over, they promised to always listen to fans, right? Who did they consult in sacking Sam at this time, then? The poll on LT speaks volumes.

When did any club go off fans opinions on transfers, managerial oppointments etc?

Every new article that is published regarding rovers contradicts the last one. It seems like Venkys are all over the place to the public. I however think there is a large amount of inaccurate rumor based journalism going on. Anything Venkys have said may be being twisted to make more interesting headlines.

Venkys really should release an official statement on the Rovers website to clear things up properly.
