In my experience of takeovers, if the new owners cannot rub along with a key person in the bought company, they are usually out on their ear ASAP. Happens all the time. Cadbury's CEO who had 28 years experience in the company was gone 2 days after Kraft bought it, and 95% of his direct reports gone 3 weeks later.

You might have been in no rush, but then you hadn't just spent 40 million and were being asked to spend another 15 in a months time by a man who they did not like or trust.

Not saying I agree with their timing, but "brainless" is lazy analysis.

The difference being, Kraft were a similar business, we are talking football here, an area where the owners nor their associates, have enough experience of managing, indeed, as I said you would put your own man in there and analyse the situation, this is their problem, they are looking at the football club as their chicken business, two totally different entities, they simply do not understand football!!

With respect, can just about every proffessional involved in british football be wrong? because they all see it the same way, we have become a joke club from being a role model of how to run a football club!!

Hard work and working long hours are all well and good but this doesnt mean a thing if you cant manage a football club and its players, they have taken a gamble when it needn't have been taken, done things the wrong way, blatently lied in just about every interview, changed their story that many times Billy Liar would seem like a bloody saint!!

Now all of a sudden SA is some sort of footballing martyr.

Missing the point. The likes of Bruce, Redknapp and Ferguson know the game inside out and what is required to be successful (and survive) in the PL. They knew Rovers and Sam were a perfect fit and they knew the good job he was doing. In the rush for the brave new world it's a pity the owners and the pimply youths on here cannot see that.

I can't help remembering the "how dare they" attitude of the press and a lot of so called pundits back in the early 90's. It's returned.

It really hasn't.

In the 90s we were a team in the lower tier who had just hired a title winning manager and player and with enough funds to outspend anyone else.

Now we're an established Premier League team who's only gone and sacked an established manager who has done well, replaced them with someone who has never managed before and, if we're lucky, may just have similarish funds to other Europa League contenders.

I do wish people would stop comparing what Venky's have done this week to what Jack did all those years ago.

I think that is what we have come to expect from him, still think we should get him on here again,he probably wouldn't last long but it would cheer us all up no end.

Interesting that the likes of Bruce, Coyle and Redknapp who are shocked and outraged at Allardyce getting sacked have shown no such loyalty to their previous employers when something better came along. They soon sacked their clubs off so why the surprise?

This is spot on, and why no notice should be taken of what any of these tossers say. Its got nothing to do with them apart from shaking up their cosy little merry go round.

What a pratt he is!!!

As much as Vinjay is often terribly wrong, I can see the parallel in the concept of thinking big. It is quite shocking how badly some fans regard the club that they love. The Venky's are nothing like Jack Walker but the concept of thinking big was most certainly a philosophy they had in common with Uncle Jack. The only way they can back up their words, which are only words for now, is by spending big in the transfer window. They are either willing to make it happen or will be open to ridicule from pretty much everyone in the country.

The same goes with their managerial appointment - think big, but not as big as big sam.

I've heard similar things to Nicko in that they are looking to spend significant sums. I get the feeling that they think that investing £50 million would win the Premiership so their ambitions are a little silly at this point (In my opinion).

Thanks for the reply.

Got to be honest BPF, if they are willing to put that amount into transfers then any manager with anything about them should fancy a crack at making us a top 6 side. Imagine what Hughes could have done 3 years ago.

Where did I compare what Venkys have done to what Jack did?

I compared the "how dare they?" attitude of the media from back then, with a similar simmering undercurrent that's growing in the media now. I agree it's nowhere near the same as back then in terms of what's going on at the club but the media are sticking that same old rusty knife in. Difference is that as a Rovers fan it was a great time back then. Now we are being mauled by the press without the joy. At least under the trust we got left alone relatively speaking.

All publicity is good publicity if you're a Venky but not if you're a fan.

1. VERY high ranking people at Venkys' have seen this board along with others and are shocked. They are used to being treated like royalty and are rarely called anything other than 'Sir'.

Well if they carry on talking this ridiculous, immature, naive, ignorant, arrogant, unintelligent, cringeworthy, disrepecful bullsh!t to the media, they will be treated like royalty at Ewood Park.

The french royalty around about 1793!

I cannot think of a time when such blatant stupidity has had such a global audience. I've had p1sstaking messages from three continents.

Have they any idea how much the Swiss lawyers and cockney spiv are taking them for a ride?

Is there a figure going around for the January window, BPF?

That's a difficult one now because are they going to release the same amount to a potentially temporary manager?

They are rather wisely keeping the figure close to their chest but initial impressions would suggest that they are capable of bringing in quality, unless they decide that Jason Roberts is a thirty million pound striker who needs a more positive attitude to achieve his potential.

Oh no, please don't say that!!

The treatment we're getting in the media now though is exactly what you'd expect.

It's the sort of treatment we give Newcastle when they unveil their latest cock up.

Venky's comments about Sam's shortcomings made over the last 48 hours have been devastating. They will have hurt Sam deeply I suspect. If they thought so little of his talents, no wonder they didn't want him spending their money in January. Releasing more than the promised amount to an untried novice would be pure folly surely?

I do find their view of we can get so much more out of what we have already, to be worrying.

Wait until they meet Keith.

Do you not think this stems from the work culture they will have in India. They seem to have old fashioned values, people who are positive, try their best, work long hours etc are reqarded and well thought of. Whilst India is developing rapidly, there are still many impoverished areas where workers would be grateful for jobs etc and no doubt very easy to motivate.

Contrast this with overpaid footballers who drive flash cars and work for only a few hours per day...who's only motivation is a fatter contract elsewhere (I appreciate this is not representative of all footballers before anyone starts!)

Sooner they get their head around this concept the better.
