Surely the significance of bringing the 'manager' to their HQ is very obvious.

I don't know about you, but if I was going to go into a major job I would prefer to look at my employer in the eye, ask the right questions, answer the right questions...and then decide if I wanted it.

This isn't really something you do in a casual chat on a crackly line.

I just hope they can actually get together as scheduled.

Just amazed that our man Phil has not blamed Venky's or Jerome Anderson for the weather yet.

In an ideal world yes, but we're in the middle of the most defining part of the season with no management team left in place if he leaves to go to India.

Have you heard of Cisco? For the price of a business class ticket to India, they can have full HD quality telepresence set up in their respective boardrooms. It's as close as you'll get to a face to face meeting and works extremely well. We use it a lot at our place to talk with our offices in LA and Taiwan - it has zero time delay and is HD quality on large plamsa screens.

Im frankly amazed that they would consider having the players on their own at such a crucial time. Kean should be with the team 2 training sessions a day and talking with them all individually. It's no way to get the players on your side if you bugger off for 2 days - especially if the topic of conversation is which players you are going to replace!

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The owners now realise that they need to have a 'manager' in place in January to help in the transfer market.

I understand that they see Kean as that manager but want to see him face-to-face and go through all of the areas that need sorting - staff, signings, etc.

The length of the stay is to be determined. I believe it is likely to be for the season and then reviewed. If Kean is happy with that - and what he hears - then I think it will be boxed off.

And in breaking news...

Kean has managed to land in India.

So we should know a lot more soon.

Something positive after what feels like an age. Maybe the new owners, at last, are getting their act together. I thought that the sacking of Allardyce was wrong in it's reasoning, timing and execution but it's done now and we need to get behind the man who finds himself in the hotseat. For what it's worth I like the sound of Kean and think he deserves a fair go from everybody concerned. That includes the players who moped about on Saturday seemingly forgetting the obligations they have to the club and it's supporters.

4 days left in between our next game, and the manager misses at least two days of training (today & arguably tomorrow). And some people question why the players are all over the place.

Don't talk so much drivel.

The players were off on Monday, will have probably had today off as well.

The next game is on Sunday, the preparations don't get started until Thursday at the earliest.

Honestly, this nit-picking nonsense really is laughable.

You would moan if this key decision WASN'T taken properly.

Leave players on their own? Why? Are they going to get lost or something?

Some players [rightly] said they wanted clarity.

Now we are about to get it.

What would you rather have? More uncertainty?

I just hope this meeting is done properly and a quick resolution let's people get on with their lives.

Nicko on Sunday you stated

"There is a meeting tomorrow where targets and money will be decided.

And that is in BLACKBURN."

Yesterday you said Kean had been trying to get out of England since yesterday, which would also be Sunday.

The attempts to get to India continued yesterday, it sounds from what your saying "he's landed in India" he succeeded some time last night.

To know he has landed in India, you must be tight with either him or someone very close, so why the duff info, the meeting was in Blackburn, is someone feeding you porkies.

The aritcle in the LT sounds promising. The sensible thing at the moment for everyone involved will be to see what happens from now until the end of January and make our conclusions then.

The only thing is we will expect results, positive results, both on and off the field by then. If not, there will be many unhappy people for Venky's to deal with I imagine. Unhappy being an understatement.

Thanks, somebody asked me where the idea that the Rao brothers were in Blackburn yesterday had come from.

Just did the calculations on Steve Kean's journey and the poor guy will be like a zombie just now. Presumably his talks will be a rushed high pressure job as well then he's got to try to get back.

All the time his deeply upset near mutinous multi-millionare egos on legs charges aka the Blackburn Rovers first team squad is simmering away.

Who said that the Rao's were going to be at the meeting of targets ?

Surely this could be John Williams, Steve Kean and maybe someone from the Kentaro agency ?

I don't think twisting the guy's answers does anybody any good.

If he is asked about a mythical figure he is going to give a 'blank' answer...which is what he did.

Would you rather he said 'we've got bundles, pal, let's go and get ripped off in the transfer market...?'

Not quite what I was getting at.

Of course, showing your hand (in terms of transfer funds0 is plainly idiotic, no-one would do that.

It just adds to the surreal nature of it all to intimate that we could get to fifth with £5m worth of signings (was he misquoted, have I read the wrong article or is that what he said?). I know there's been a rush to judgement on here, but what with all the other quotes we've had this week, it's a bit much.

I'm sure what with him speaking several languages and having an armful of coaching badges he's a clever lad, but he could've given a "blank" answer without making what on face value is an outlandish claim.

I think if you read the context in which Nicko made the statement, it was not difficult to conclude the Rao brothers were in town.

If the Kentaro agency were present, life has just got a whole lot more interesting and complicated.

You are not in any position whatsoever to be nitpicking at contradictory info posted by others!!!!!

Absolutely unbelievable. You must have the skin thickness of a rhino.

Nicko, FYI, the players did participate in indoor training yesterday. But maybe you consider that as "off". So you are saying the players get 3 days in a row off.

I was told on Friday that the Monday meeting would be in Blackburn.

I found out yesterday that the Monday meeting was now scheduled to be in Pune.

Kean has now arrived...in Pune.

I think if you read the context in which Nicko made the statement, it was not difficult to conclude the Rao brothers were in town.

So, in other words, you made it up and claimed I had written something I had not actually written.

Right...

Nicko is speaking about as much sense as the new owners at the moment.

Mostly nonsense.

Your caretaker is in India right now - only one paper had that this morning.

I think your definiation of 'nonsense' might need adjusting.

Lytham, by the way...I knew someone who claimed to be from there once...

I wonder.

Nicko, FYI, the players did participate in indoor training yesterday. But maybe you consider that as "off". So you are saying the players get 3 days in a row off.

So the players are in for a couple of press-ups.

You're right...

They really needed the caretaker to be there to make sure they were doing it properly.

Yesterday was six days before the next match.

No club does match preparation six days before the next match.

I see Man U's were out on the p1ss.

Fergie out!

You answered the question about where the Rao brothers were attending the meeting. Nicko you cannot get away with that blustering!

So are Kentaro and the Rao family still joined at the hip given Mrs D is quoted in the LT saying “We do not have any exclusive agreement with Kentaro,” she said.

“They are one of the groups who are consulting us but they are not the only one.

"What has been written is not true."

I'm not talking about the odd detail of information here and there, I'm talking about the whole tone and the position you seem to be adopting regarding this whole set up.

I appreciate your many pieces of info regarding transfers over the years, and I appreciate the fact that you aren't a Rovers fan.

But at at time when it's plain to the whole world at large aside from a few serial Sam-haters just how ridiculous this whole takeover has been , you seem to be bending over backwards to avoid common sense and to defend this nonsense.

I'm loathe to mention your past background in amongst football agents but I wonder if it's clouding your judgement.

It's like cluedo this

Whodunnit?

I'm going for Jerome Anderson, in the main boardroom, with a rolled-up dodgy contract

Seriously, the problem here is that the lack of coherent and consistent information from the club is creating a vacuum which people are filling (which, to be fair, they have been doing for years with theories about the trust)

Nicko - do you know if people at the club/Venkys "get" that you can't do business at a football club in the way they've probably done it in the past?

I don't recall saying that the Rao brothers were at the meeting. You made that up.

Oh really.

I really do wish you would come up with that one.

But make sure you have £18,500 handy.

Won the last case and I fancy another extension.

Steve Kean wants the answers everyone else wants...if he doesn't get the right ones you all might be in for a surprise.

If he is going to walk then that works out brilliantly. No offence but he is out of his depth.

Sam Allardyce interview on SSN, Sam saying he is surprised that Steve Kean was given the caretaker manger job, and he felt that Neil Mcdonald should have been given it.

I couldn't agree with him more. Neil Mc did a great job with Carlisle and in the couple of game with us. More hasty decision making by Venky's. He would have been a far more educated choice to take control until a further manager was appointed.
