philipl Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Yes you can cancel or convene and adjorn an AGM. More likely the AGM will be held with a Venky's shareholder proxy present holding written authority- that is usually allowed by the standard Memorandum and Articles. The minority shareholdrs are required to sell by 31 December or forfeit their shares under the terms of the offer document.

67splitscreen Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Now I do stand corrected, but in English Law date and venue of an AGM has to be posted two or three weeks prior to the actual event, in that case could they cancel at such short notice? Someone on here may know the answer to that one. Weather. I think it's fair to assume the owners were due in Monday. If they didn't make it which it seems they did not, then mitigating circumstances would play part to the cancellation. I'm sure we have recent/existing shareholders on here. There is nothing on the official site that I can find, so who knows, maybe I did dream it, Narcolepsy!.
AndyC Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Don't talk so much drivel. The players were off on Monday, will have probably had today off as well. The next game is on Sunday, the preparations don't get started until Thursday at the earliest. Honestly, this nit-picking nonsense really is laughable. You would moan if this key decision WASN'T taken properly. Leave players on their own? Why? Are they going to get lost or something? Some players [rightly] said they wanted clarity. Now we are about to get it. What would you rather have? More uncertainty? I just hope this meeting is done properly and a quick resolution let's people get on with their lives. leaving them on their own at the club without a leader. we all heard ryan nelson so eloquently talking at the weekend of poor communication - now the stand in manager is going to be away for a couple of days. It's just pure madness. when there is chaos in the workplace, the last thing you do is leave. Why Venkys haven't come to Ewood for this meeting is just beyond me. They are aware of the PR disaster they have created and the laughing stock the club is becoming. It would have been far more beneficial to sit down as a management team, agree on the key messages and then consistently stick to them - and doing it in person at Ewood. I seethe latest laughable bit of PR is some guy from this message board contacted Venkys facebook page to be told the budget was now 8Million. What on earth is going on ???

AndyC Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 But Man Utd were out on teh razz yesterday, so all is OK. lol Im still laughing at the we can be top5 story. Manu arsenal chelsea licerpool man city tottenham and we're going to be better than any of the above are we?

Manu arsenal chelsea licerpool man city tottenham and we're going to be better than any of the above are we? I don't know what Venky's and Kean have been drinking but I want some. Got a feeling that my local boozer won't have it in stock over Christmas though.
modes98 Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 No. So he is potentially going to negotiate a contract without his agent? That's brave and refreshing. Maybe a face to face meeting will finally end this saga and result in us getting an experienced manager in.

Not aimed at you guys specifically, but the reaction to this story is typical of the negative nature of the majority of the messageboard. What Kean said was perfectly reasonable, it doesnt mean that he thinks it's true, but he is about to embark on a January spending spree and wants to play things down. It is the most responsible reaction to the question he was asked. Why is it that so many of our fans have no problem reading between the lines when there is a negative subtext to be uncovered, but when it comes to seeing the positive logic behind a statement from the club, it's face value all the way. There is balance to be found in everything. I think many of us would be able to relax a bit more if we made more of an effort to find it.

Kean has gone to discuss his own future, establish what length of time he will get and what staff he might need. If that goes well, then they can talk about targets. You don't need your agent to do that. I don't recall any problem with Kean signing the contract he is currently on - or who did that deal [if anyone]. But don't let me stop you from building a bonfire.

nicko Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Don't you? No. Proper football people talk football first. Finance comes later.
ada2020 Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 No. Proper football people talk football first. Finance comes later. A small Coyle quote there Nicko Maybe more a reference than quote actually.
nicko Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 A small Coyle quote there Nicko Maybe more a reference than quote actually. When Coyley met Burnley and Bolton he talked football first...contracts sorted out later...didn't even use an agent with the Burnley deal. So, yes, proper football people talk football first.
T4E Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 No. Proper football people talk football first. Finance comes later. "Proper football people" only refers to a very small percentage of the people sat round the table in Pune.
AJW Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 there's something about Steve Kean you like ins't there Nicko?
bob fleming Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 So he's flown to India to have a good talk with himself? Is he daft?
67splitscreen Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Kean has gone to discuss his own future, establish what length of time he will get and what staff he might need. Parsonblue Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 So, yes, proper football people talk football first. So do we assume that Kean has flown to India to talk to himself - he's certainly going to be the only proper football person at the meeting. On a serious note nicko, do you know who is representing Venky's at the AGM on Wednesday? Will it be left to John Williams to deal with the minority shareholders or will the owners have their own person in place to deal with difficult questions - always assuming questions are allowed.
Sparky Marky Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 This is a fecking shambles. No way in the world would this guy have even got an interview for the job under normal circumstances. We're seriously in the crap if this guy is gonna be the full time boss. This could be the end.
imy9 Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 His got all the badges, fluent in three languages, had worked as assistant in Spain and England, first team coach at Blackburn for 18 months, so until a new manager can be found he has got the job. Surely common sense as you don't want to rush into hiring someone. If he does well he gets the job, if not we get someone else.
nicko Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 there's something about Steve Kean you like ins't there Nicko? People I respect have respect for him. Plus I believe in giving emerging talent a chance. So do we assume that Kean has flown to India to talk to himself - he's certainly going to be the only proper football person at the meeting. THAT WAS FUNNY THE FIRST TIME... On a serious note nicko, do you know who is representing Venky's at the AGM on Wednesday? Will it be left to John Williams to deal with the minority shareholders or will the owners have their own person in place to deal with difficult questions - always assuming questions are allowed. NO IDEA...MAYBE THEY WILL COME BACK WITH THE 'MANAGER' IF IT HAS BEEN SORTED...MAYBE NOT...
Neil Weaver Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Proper football people talk football first. Finance comes later. Not directed at you Nicko, but I wonder what our mates at Kentaro talk about first with Venky's?
nicko Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Not directed at you Nicko, but I wonder what our mates at Kentaro talk about first with Venky's? How to make a buck. I'll get my coat.
