Exiled_Rover Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 He's at the Utd match tonight in an Arfur Daley type jacket looking quite thoughtful. Player manager? That's a long commute from LA.

Greedy_Crawford Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Going to be a left field appointment - Beckham as player manager... tbh could do with the glamour down at Brockhall, I could start charging for parking outside my gaffe!! The again, in reality it will be someone crap like Curbishley

The again, in reality it will be someone crap like Curbishley But that wouldnt run with Nickos statement, thats why I said Beckham as the figurehead and a coach alongside (not the one with seats in either) Aka Dalglish at Liverpool in the early days!!
Andy Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Been keeping my eye on general odds and the person whose odds are coming down quicker than anyone's is Frank Rijkaard. Now down to 17-1. Wish I knew it was happening - £100 on for a £1,800 return
imy9 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Frank is available too he has been sacked by the Turkish club he was with.

AspRover Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I've just had a horrible premonition. Diego Maradona.
Kelbo Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 What Statement from Nicko i cant seem to find it He said he laughed at the suggestion of the next manager, unless it was to be the face of the Rovers, or something on those lines
Fylde Coast Fan Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Kentaro have links to Paul Jewell, according to a few Twitterati (Micky Gray says he's hearing Jewell, for example). I'm very, very nervous.
brian_gallagher85 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 They knew in July???!!!!!!! Been keeping my eye on general odds and the person whose odds are coming down quicker than anyone's is Frank Rijkaard. Now down to 17-1. Wish I knew it was happening - £100 on for a £1,800 return His odds fall like that every time a job comes up...the job then always goes to a half decent candidate instead!
Kelbo Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Kentaro have links to Paul Jewell, according to a few Twitterati (Micky Gray says he's hearing Jewell, for example). I'm very, very nervous. Kentaro act for Jol as well!!
BuckyRover Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Paul Jewell I'll believe it when I see it.
Fylde Coast Fan Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Kentaro act for Jol as well!! I'd be happy with Jol. Did a good job at Spurs. Dave Jones has gone down massively on Skybet - now 13/2. Rijkaard still 33/1 there.

I'm very, very nervous. nope!!!! if he gets the job then i will be sending my season ticket back by 1st class post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bennyboyt11 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Why would they replace Sam for Paul Jewell? Think about it people, it doesn't make sense for a start.

deftangel Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 Someone on Betfair forums just said we were going for a "big name" according to a tip. I take anything I read on their with a large dose of salt but there are several comments kicking about that seem to point to a "name" candidate, for better or for worse. Paul Jewell does not fit that profile.

Bobby G Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 No, nicko said he has heard the name that made him laugh. But laugh no more as it could be reality.
