I'm much less worried about all this now, I think they need time to do their thing.

The fact that they want 4th or better 100% suggests to me that we could see some decent funds available.

Whether that is true or not nobody knows for sure but they have said all the right things for me.

Some fans will never be happy and rumours of we have x million available are probably just that.

Be very intreresting 2011

Great post by Majiball- I agree with every word of it. All the trouble here is coming from Kentaro and Jerome Anderson with his appalling track record of screwing over football clubs.

Andy Cryer has made a very brave and principled decision in writing that opinion piece in the LT>

I was very struck by this comment in the LT:

My family have been connected with the Blue and Whites since the turn of the last century. My great-grandfather was chairman of the club, Laurence Cotton, who was known as the maker of the Modern Rovers and my grandfather, Wattie Aitkenhead was a member of the Championship winning side 1911-12 and 1913-14. In recent seasons I have been impressed with the stability of the club. The club has been well run under the financial guidance of John Williams and more recently, the football expertise of Sam Allardyce. Blackburn Rovers were very lucky to have this stability. The club's future is now uncertain. I wish the new owners the best but I fear that their expectations are too high and maybe, have been advised poorly. I am very disappointed with this decision.

Paul Aitkenhead

That is the embodiment of the standards and traditions of Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

Andy Cryer is entitled to his opinion but in my view that opinion is way OTT.

In my view the current owners have dispensed with a manager whose record was ok no more no less. Whether that decision turns out to be an inspired one or a foolhardy gamble will only be known when we see who else comes in and how they perform.

It's a pity the LT weren't so vociferous over the last few years when the previous owners starved the Club of funding and in particular when they drove Hughes away.

Sacking a competent manager with critical matches coming up? Months without a replacement manager? No one in charge to make the necessary transfers? Have never meet with the players? JW (allegedly) resigning? Wants "pretty" football now, without investment or time for the players to practice in new formations? Anyone of those items are bad in of themselves. As a collective, it is a disaster.

It's hard to escape the opinion that our new owners are either mad or incompetent. If not, the cynical side of me says that maybe they are competent asset strippers. Keep in mind, two years of parachute payments would cover their investment. Not to mention the value of the Rovers assets. Thy could easily multiply their initial investment by running the club into the ground. Which is what they appear to be doing. I'm in a bit of a panic, and if they want to reasssure me, as a fan, something more than "trust me" is needed.

Their "trust me" sounds like s seducer making a play for a young lady. All smooth words but no sincerity.

In my opinion, the odds that they are brilliant, well advised businessmen/women who are taking the Rovers to a top 5 finish have plummetted. I hope I am wrong and, of course, maybe there is some grand masterplan that we're not privy to. It's hard to see it based on Ms. Desai' comments though. All she's done is pour gasoline on fire, which does not bode well for the brilliant businesswoman theory.

A company with designs on global expansion is not going to asset strip a Premier league football club.

Just get that out of your head right away.

My thoughts too. What, other than the financial, would be the benefit to them? They want to grow their name. Therefore they will want to succeed. Now they might be going an odd way about it, but the failure of any part of their empire will cast doubt on the other areas too, just when they are wanting to look like a highly successful and expanding company.

You are right. I doubt that they plan to do that. But it is an option to safeguard their investment is their 'plans' go pear shaped. Venkys can gamble. If they win, they get their 5th place finish. If they lose, they can recoup their investment and try again somewhere else. The price they bought for is so low in comparison to the Rovers true value that they have little financial risk.

And I am not feeling comfortable with their ability to produce a 5th place finish at the moment. The "it'll be months before we hire a new manager" line does not inspire confidence. Are they going to wait until the end of the season to act, or so near that the brilliant (I hope) man they sign can do no good?

all good points but when they say all the right things and ask us to trust them, I think I am willing to do that.

I have been bored to s***less watching Blackburn in the last three years, at least this is interesting at last.

honest who knows what they have planned but its slightly exciting and unpredictable and very positive everything they say.

if by Feb things are down the toilet then fine I'll be pee'ed off.

but for now losing Sam is sad but possibly better things are to come, i hope. Many many people don't like heis tactics and they have every right to sack someone they really dislike.

JW is worrying me a little, but its just rumour at the moment.

and she been a lot more succes me, so I'll give her a break, the spotlight is on their company, they have ALOT on the line, they need to succeed or live with the chicken jokes FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you are saying, but that's just the way things are. I hope these issues are just teething problems. It is a learning process for them as well.

I really dont want to see a protest on Saturday, I only want three points.

Ditto. I am upset about Sam primarily because there apparently is no competent and better replacement lined up. Last night I was willing to entertain the possible brilliance of Venkys by signing Maradona as a figurehead manager for PR purposes and a steady hand behind the scenes for results. The wating "months" before a replacement is appointed an indication that plan is not in the works, and that no plan is in place. I just don't get how anyone benefits, other than Rover opposition, to sacking Sam immediately.

And I am a Rover supporter, not a Sam supporter, when it comes to brass tacks. I want the three points from West Ham and everyone else. I'm just uncertain that our odds have improved, and believe they have fallen, to achieve those results as a result of Venkys' action. I want to be wrong on this.

JW is worrying me a little, but its just rumour at the moment.

JW is really the litmus test. If he feels comfortable backing Venkys, I will feel comfortable backing Venkys, despite severe reservations. If he doesn't, if they are keeping him in the dark and feeding him manure, then they are not deserving of trust.

You've got to give it to them, they've now had 48 hours of free publicity. Three days ago only ultra avid footy fans and us Roverites had heard of Venky's but now most of my mates have, and judging by the lame jokes they know their products too. Brilliant for the Venky's brand, sh*t for Rovers....

Nearly every report yesterday said "Venky's sacks Sam", few if any said "Desai sacks Sam". If Mancini was given the boot the headlines would be "Sheikh Mansour sacks Mancini" and not "International Petroleum Investment Company sack Mancini".

All these guys are interested in is promoting Venky's and they're using us as they're vehicle. I said this the moment they walked in the door and started talking about re-naming Ewwod but most people were too happy we'd finally got rid of the trust and got another humble outfit to take us to listen. I can't believe some people thanked God we didn't get a Billionaire.....

I'm shocked and bewildered by the fact they have no replacement after sacking Sam.They are playing with fire putting a first team coach in charge of matters for possibly 2 months in the Premierleague. They have forced our club into so much uncertainty right now it simply beggers belief.

I'm shocked at the sheer stupidity and callousness of it.Right here, right now,Venky's are showing they are totally naive and out of touch with Football over here and the fans.I was accused of Xenophobia when I voiced my concerns about the welfare of the club being managed from overseas and how strange and uneasy it felt.OUT OF TOUCH.

Now we have the news that possibly Williams will be booted out the door........

Will someone confirm this is just one big b1oody bad dream right now.

SG, I'm absolutely staggered that some people seem to think all this is a good move.

Venky's think that Rovers are better off with Steve Kean in charge for the next two months, than we are with Sam Allardyce. They believe that so strongly, that they're prepared to gamble with our PL status. They have also done it with no other plans in the pipeline.

They don't have a clue what they're doing - and that's the truth.

Its mind blowing stupidity Den,frightening naivety and most of us cant believe what is unfolding before our eyes. The most frustrating part of this is that we,the loyal fans, have no say at all while Rovers possibly crash and burn before our very eyes

There but for the grace of God go we.

God almighty.

Don't worry.  We will win on Saturday in style and people will wonder what all the fuss was about.

But I will say that I wouldn't like to be with BRFCS members if some disaster type situation was unfolding. I can imagine everyone going MENTAL quite quickly

I can not post my thoughts and feelings about the situation anymore because of the "VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL POSTERS" thread.

But I will say one thing about it:

Missing my train is an "incredibly frustrating" experience.

This is Blackburn Rovers we are talking about. This is 135 years of history. The earliest memories of my life revolve around me cheering on Rovers. "Frustrating" does not quite cover it.

Silence and pacifism are the bane of this club.

Indeed. If we went out of business what on earth would you spend every day moaning about?

If now is not the time to panic, then when in God's blue earth would it be? What else precisely are we waiting to happen? Paul Ince to be reappointed?
