The problem with Venky's is this:

When they first took over the club, they made a clear statement that they would be happy with a midtable finish and have full support for the current managemer and would provide small funds to improve the squad, but nothing too drastic

The idea I had with this is that we would continue to develop the youth Sam had been giving a chance to during his time here, while being in a position where we could buy 1 or 2 decent/good players (such as Adam, Carlton Cole and N'zogbia) to improve the squad. I was really happy with this setup and the conservative approach it showed.

Now, they've sacked the manager and apparently want "exciting" football, a top 5 finish, their own players brought in (supposedly still for around 5mil, as this hasn't been reported to change) and our first team coach to take over managerial duties. Pray tell, how do they expect us to be a top 5 club, playing exciting football, under an inexperienced manager with 5 million to spend on our current distinctly average team?

Unless they're prepared to give us the spending power at least on par with clubs like Spurs, then I don't see how they could possibly achieve this. Nor do I want the club to have that sort of spending power, I don't want Blackburn to become one of "those" clubs. I want us to be a stable Premier League side fighting for success, not buying it. I wouldn't care if this meant a boring mid-table finish every season, but last time I checked the words on my shirt read "Arte et Labore", not "By Money and Chickens".

Flicking through the papers today, nothing but bemusment and scorn at what is hapenning.

I used to feel quite bitter that the fantastic way this club was run and our continued achievements were ignored by the national media and ergo fans around the country.

We are not going to be ignored now...

No one cares about what's happening at Ewood. We are an uninteresting club to most outside of Lancashire.

Most will have seen the stories and thought I'm glad Allardyce has been sacked, I hated watching Rovers on MOTD. And that's about it.

You misunderstand me, of course noone cares about Rovers outside Lancashire (apart from our fans in far flung places, of course), that is fairly obvious when you compare the week of Hughton mania to a day or so of headlines for Allardyce.

My point is, the fact that Blackburn Rovers were a well run club got no airtime/column inches whatsoever, we are no longer that club and the media will enjoy sticking the boot in.

I read the Metro on the bus to work and Mark Bright supports the decision.

His article talks about there being no place for Sam's direct style in modern football. Actually he spends most of it justifying why it was ok for him to do it in the eighties, but still...

The man with the most ironic name in football.

It was prebiously accepted that for teams with less money it was ok to play that way to "get results". I don't that is accepted as much anymore.

The general consensus (from comments on websites not journos) is that they are glad he has gone from the Prem. His style is antiquated. I think he might end up at West Ham, will probably save them from relegation but will not last in the job as long as he did here.

That's very old news. The more detailed interview said they held initial discussions but nothing further came of it.

It was splashed over SSN yesterday they now want a "British" manager although personally I would have thought it is a mistake to rule anything publicly out as you never know who might suddenly become available.

MORE than 7,000 people have voted on the Lancashire Telegraph website following the sacking of Sam Allardyce — and most say it was the wrong decision.

The unprecedented size of the vote - the biggest in the website's history - comes as the football world continues to condemn the dismissal.

Would you me to explain to you why an online poll on a local newspaper website is not statistically significant? (especially as this can be considered a shock sacking)

Or would you like to carry on trolling as you do seem quite happy?

Wow, Bucky, you really are defending Venky's to the hilt on everything - sure you did the same with Ince from memory?

Your not connected to Kentaro are you?
