From being owned by Jack Walker with his unbridled love and total support, then to the care and stability of the Walker trust years and now to this total shambles.I really do fear that nigh on 20 years of hard work both on and off the field of play are about to come crashing down around us.

Our new owners PR is confusing at best, conflicting comments left right and centre and we now have no manager to lead us,their tenure to date could not have made a more worse impression.Venky's appear to be rank amateurs and seem to have little idea of the ways of English football, the depth of feeling from the fans and what they want to do with us.We are being made to look a laughing stock infront of the nation.

I'm angry, sad and embarrassed by this whole damn sorry situation.I'm sorry,I cant help how I feel and it appears to be the same way for many.

Does anyone know whether the Independent's report this morning that Philippe Huber, co-founder and chief executive of Kentaro is the key decision maker in all this is true? They claim he is the main line of communication between Kentaro and Desai. If so, what do we know about him?

I'm starting to feel the same. Im worried that we are doomed. They seem so clueless, If Jeremy Beadle(R.I.P.) were still alive I'd be expecting him anytime soon. :-/

Can one reporter/journo not say to Ms Desai or the brothers that in order to become a good team they will need to spend 30 million minimum. Then ask if they have that jind of money to invest. It owuld qyute frankly answer 90 percent of the worries on here. God if I were a journo its the first thing I'd want to know!

Interviewed on the radio today was she not asked 'with all due respect do you know how much money it takes to become a top 4 team in the Premiership?' I'm sure her reply was 'I don't think it takes a lot of money'. :wstu:

These guys have had a month and what is happening on the marketing front. They have a tiny window before they cease being the only Indian PL owners and what are they doing with it?

Marketing is about execution more than it is about ideas. The market is interested and wants to hear right now so this is an incredibly precious time before Venky's and Mrs D are old news. Look at how they are totally squandering their marketing opportunity- every one of these interviews ought to be taking the marketing proposition forwards.

They don't have the industry intelligence to understand what they have and don't have and are utterly naive in using Jerome Anderson.

People are forgetting just how dramatically City fell to pieces six months after Jerome Anderson got involved there.

Venky probably do not even know what happened at city with Anderson. someone need to sent them a stack of case studies, if they were even bothered to read it.

Its always easier to listen then to read though -.-

What experience has Venky's got of running a football club? Answer None!!!

Do I know of anybody who has got experience of running of a football club? er er oh yeah Our Current Club Chairman John Williams and MD Tom Finn!!!

I just don't understand why not let's the JW and TF get on with running the club and let the manager manage the club and sign players. The owners should be in the background and not always giving interviews and change the comments from one interview to the other!!!

Why would they buy the club to blindly put money in? They didn't buy the club to provide us with charity.

Some people need a bit of perspective, these people are likely not going to be mugs. They don't know much about football so they are getting advice from people they know, that know about football. If their advice doesn't work they will seek new advice until they know enough about the running of a club.

They aren't just going to let us sink. What sense does that make? The club would then be relatively worthless to them. They want the club to bring in money (through exposure for their brand), to be able to put more money in, to get more money out. The bigger the club gets the bigger the advert for them. The better football we play the more people who watch. Their aim will be to get us into europe.

As we know in relation to other foreign owner they don't have anywhere near the same financial backing, but you can take that as a positive. It means that their investment in Rovers is more important to them. £40 odd million is big money, even to them. This is a major investment, that they cannot see fail.

I'm glad Allardyce has gone because I couldn't deal with watching the football and listening to him talk rubbish, but that in no way motivates my thoughts on Venkys. It was the wrong time to let him go. I can't really see much rationility in thinking otherwise (all I can think is they didn't trust him with THEIR money. Fair enough, I suppose. It is theirs after all). But he did have to go. What neutral enjoys watching BRFCs? None. I don't. I like to see us win, but it isn't all that of an enjoyable experience.

I hate the thought of foreign ownership and the complete lack of a soul in football. Business, business, business. But for some people on here to be lambasting the owners building one rumour on top of another is ridiculous. I come on here for a collation of Rovers news and opinion and I'm sick of the constant crap.

I don't doubt their intentions. They have every reason to want the Rovers to be a success.

I also don't doubt their business acumen in their field, poultry and pharmaceuticals. From all accounts, they are tops in what they do.

However, I am beginning to doubt their preparedness and judgment on football issues. I won't castigate them for taking advice from Kentaro/Jerome Anderson. I don't know anything about that group, though several here have expressed reservations which cause me some concern.

My doubts are based upon: 1) their seemingly continuous contradictory statements; and, 2) their seeming naivety as to what it will take to get to a top five finish. I think the first indicates a problem with their management plan, which is worrying. It can be solved by adhering to a chain of command. JW would be the best choice but, at the end of the day, speaking through one person and one person only would do them a world of good and help them maintain some credibility. Why this hasn't been done from day one does not bode well.

The second is more problematic. They want a more positive outlook. They want more entertaining football. They want a 5th place finish. And they'll invest five million and rely on Kean, the third tier of the former management, to get it.

I think/suspect/hope that they're betting correctly on Kean. From all accounts he's an up and comer and, with a little bit of luck, will do us all proud. But I hate relying on luck.

But as good as he may be, he's not going to get us to 5th place with five million in the transfer kitty. While he may improve the squad somewhat, and play a more positive match, five million won't cut it even if: 1) Kentaro leaves him well alone in his targets (dubious); and, 2) Kean finds the next Bentley/Santa Cruz/Bellamy.

It may be, and I hope it is, that Venkys are brilliant professionals and that all the turmoil has to do with Venkys transitioning into management in an unfamiliar field far from their home base. It may be, and I hope it is, that they have an outstanding, clever game plan to purchase 1 solid professional with the five million and rely on a couple of loans to making the squad into a Kean inspired positive attacking force that will strike dread in the hearts of our PL rivals. And I believe that Kean might have the talent (we'll see soon), that our current squad is fairly solid, and that 2-4 of the right players will move us up to dangerous contenders for a European spot. And it is possible that the Venkys/Kentaro alliance can pull it off. But it is a dicey proposition at the best of times and, to date, they haven't demonstrated that they are prepared to hit the ground running. And rather than bed themselves in over the course of this season, and make their changes over the summer months, they sacked the man who would most likely kept us out of a relegation battle. They've demonstrated that they are gamblers and I hate gambling. The odds are always stacked in favor of the house.

So I'm worried. And I'm frustrated. And I am really really hoping that they get it right, whether due to brilliant planning or a healthy dose of luck. But they haven't really reassured me on any aspect of their brilliant plan and I hate relying on luck.

Which way the wind blows we'll know over the next several weeks, starting with Kean this weekend. Go Rovers! :brfc:

It is a discussion board.

Ideally someone would come on here with a better argument backed by superior evidence and demonstrate all will be fine.

To the extent Venky's are taking any notice, I am saying again, you are not going to be on your own as Indian owners of a PL club for any length of time unless you get very lucky indeed.

And when QPR come up, it becomes Mittal vs Venky's and that will be no contest if Mittal can be bothered. In terms of comparative resources, Mittal could buy out the Rao family lock stock and barrel with a few months' interest.

Bunkum,

There are 20 clubs in the league, not just QPR, if they come up, and us

Our new owners want us to be in the top 4 or 5 and play only attractive football along the way, without an experienced manager for several months and with ( in relative terms ) limited capital. Fair play to them.

I want my wife to look like Catherine Deneuve in her prime, to score the winning goal for Rovers in the Champions League Final against Barcelona, a big lottery win, and of course world peace.

Some might accuse me of naivety but hey, we can all dream.....

  • Moderation Lead

We could have at least given Lennox Lewis a shirt as well, he was only a former British World Champ (about as British as Owen Hargreaves, but British still!)

Or maybe he disagrees with how they're running the club?

Lennox Lewis is blue and white! :rover:

Any picture footer that calls someone "Mr." wreaks of ego in my opinion. Why is Akon just Akon and not Mr. Akon?

Living in the Middle East, I completely understand that mentality. The region is home to this kind of mentality.

Although to be fair, even Mrs. D called called Sam, Mr. Sam.

has anybody seen the reply venkys put on their facebook page.

A rovers fan asked "Whyyy oo Whyy, You Sack Big Sam"

Their reply "Wait and See , until Jan 1st"

Am I reading too much in to this? Sounds like something big planned.

The day Boyd and Geovanni sign probably.
