No they haven't. They might still, but so far they haven't bought any players for us to judge. Once Feb 1st rolls around then we can sit back and say "we have exciting times ahead" or "we are totally boned". So far we have heard Venky's and Kean talk a lot, Venky's with confusing statements, Kean with very reassuring statements, but neither has delivered us results yet. We have 4 out of 12 points, a depleted squad and no signings.

A very good summary. So far Venky's have promised everything and delivered nothing. I will believe it when I see it on the pitch but my overall feeling is this is all mouth and trousers on their part. I shall be delighted to be proved wrong but the sad fact is, to date, everything Venky's say has been proved incorrect by their subsequent actions. See Tris's excellent post. Venky's have delivered nothing to date. They haven't even spoken to the fans of their intentions, their vision - if one exists.

Just take the managerial situation; sack Allardyce, OK it's their club and their decision, then we hear "we will take time to make our decision - perhaps two or three months," a few days later Kean is rumoured a 3 year deal after winning a match. Excuse my French but it's all b*llocks

Unfortunately, with the luxury of the Internet, we are all demanding answers and results by the minute, but none are coming, so it's all getting a bit restless. Personally, I can't wait to have this month over and done with and see where we stand by the end of it.

Me too. Players on the pitch please, that's what I'm interested in not "Venky's office in Brazil!" Ha! Send the local office manager to negotiate with Ronaldhino.

I'm not going on Saturday. It's my personal protest against Venky's, I hope Rovers win.

47er I get the impression you are cautious about Venky's but may be wrong. I'm not talking about the transfer window but the whole situation, which I feel is the point of this thread. To date Venky's have delivered nothing they have discussed publicly.

There were absolutely no valid footballing reasons to let Sam go, as has been proven time and time again since it's occurred.

I wasn't one of the people who wanted Allardyce sacked, but I do think there were footballing reasons to let him go.

What there wasn't was a valid footballing reason to replace him with a complete novice manager.

Sums up my thoughts perfectly on the Allardyce issue.

I like what Exiled In Toronto said above.

All that matters to us, the (mature sensible) fans, is results. If we win games, and keep on winning games the majority will be happy.

The methods may be different from Venkys to The Walker Trust etc, but start winning games and I will be happy.

Lose, and lose like did against Stoke and Sunderland then the supporters will find any tiny little scrap to feed on and hold it against the new owners. PR, Kean, Sacking Allardyce, alienating Williams and Finn, banning burgers in the ground, multi faith prayer rooms, you name it we'll kick off about it.

I've been told from high up sources that all this marketing to the Indian nation is a load of rubbish and that it will never happen.

BUT

Things are becoming so ludicrous that I'm now beginning to think that the Venkey lot might be coming out with all this Maradonna, Ronaldinho, Beckham malarky simply to impress that lot over there and kick start interest and awareness in BRFC. For those that rememeber it's like footballs answer to the Great Rock and Roll Swindle!

Rem thindians will never have heard of Adam / Bentley / RSC etc so maybe this faded superstar stuff is just to promote some publicity over there. After all a simple and primitive society believed enough nonsense to create Christianity and an even dafter lot believed another batch of complete nonsense and created the relion of islam.

Rem we are looking at all this through our european eyes. Makes you think doesn't it?

Makes me think you need to see someone... Do you of Indian culture as simple and primitive? I have a picture of you calling them 'fuzzy-wuzzies' in your mind for some reason...

Western Gulf Advisory are the official sponsors of teh bahrain national team....

Meanwhile, Western Gulf Advisory (WGA) announced its sponsorship of the Bahrain national team earlier yesterday.

The sponsorship deal was declared during a Press conference held at the National Stadium. It was attended by senior officials from the Bahrain asset and wealth management company, including founder and chief executive officer Ahsan Ali Syed.

Funny, Mr Syed seems to be spending more money on football than our current owners, why did we reject him again?

Really? Goes against what iv heard.....when Kentaro & Venkys where at ewood, SSN said it was to let JW & Finn go, I told you it wasnt - what exactly could they be doing instead?? Looking at how to get into India by any chance?!

Have a little patience & see.

As for not delivering on anything yet - give them time, we are as active in this transfer window as we have been for many a year!

Not sure if this has been posted, but here are the brothers in all their glory...

I wonder where they got the £120m profit last year from????

The quoted company is about a third to a quarter of their total turn over and it made less than 10% of that number in profit. The rest (which is private) would have to be making a net margin of 25%.

I wonder if the £120m is a book profit on the increase in the value of VH's holding in Venky's India's publicly quoted shares?

If some people on this board are to be believed (via pm) we lost out there. Syed may not have been as rich as stated but he could have afforded the £300mil he was proposing. Also we wouldn't have been a laughing stock, and Sam would still be in the job. Makes you think.

I feel like punching the trust members and Goldberg right at this minute.

By their own admission, their accounts were less than transparent.

Didn't Sam say something like "their bid was a joke."

Yeah and wonder how Sam feels about it now

Sam also said he had no idea what was going on if I remember correctly.

All I can find is this

"If it's happening, it's going to happen in the next week or two. But whether it does happen or not seems now doubtful, for whatever reason I don't know, I'm not privy to that information yet."
