thenodrog Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Makes me think you need to see someone... Do you of Indian culture as simple and primitive? I have a picture of you calling them 'fuzzy-wuzzies' in your mind for some reason... How odd. I have a mental image of you in my mind too Ivan.

philipl Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Behind the Poultry Park jibe, there is a great deal of sense in this Daily Telegraph article
philipl Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Talk to any non-Rovers fan and this is an all too typical view.c And it is far too early to say it is not accurate.
philipl Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Venky's got an absolute savaging on the Sunday Supplement this morning: - they have a credibility issue - the Chairman is being totally by-passed - Ronaldinho bid was not the right thing at this time for Rovers
John Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 If you speak to many people within the game, whether it be players/managers/fans, they share the same view as the panel on the Sunday Supplement. Credibility is important and our stock is currently very low. I know some are obsessed with this anti Rovers media agenda however there are severe warning signs which cannot be ignored. Hopefully Venky's can reflect on their recent actions/statements with an aim to start creating some genuine positivity around the club.
roversmum Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 More tripe. The problem is, people believe it. Steve Kean has made a decent start to his managership. Young players are being given a chance, some (Junior Hoillett) have been a revelation. There is money coming in for transfers. John Williams is dealing with the transfers as he always did. The Rao family are extremely proud of the club and are well aware of its traditions and have no intention of it failing. Mistakes have been made - funny how folks seem to forget that we are all human and we have ALL made mistakes (even you, philipl ) - especially with new projects The clever part is to learn from your mistakes and I have every confidence that our new owners are quick learners. Let the media get on with it. It is they who will look the fools, not Rovers. Bring it on.
Exiled in Toronto Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 "The links to negative Rovers stories service has now been resumed. We apologise for the interruption in service caused by Rovers excellent victory over Liverpool"

I like how proud of the club and its culture you are mum, I have always been the same, however until 1st Feb we can't be sure that there is money coming in for transfers. Of course they don't want to fail, however Premier League football is a unique monster and I beleive they have been shocked by what they have got themselves into.
roversmum Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I just think they didn't realise how things worked around the club and English football in general. I'm not worried at all. Mr Roversmum and I have spent a lot of time researching Venky's, the Rao family and Indian Football. It's all extremely interesting and if their plans work out we are in for an exciting time. It won't all be smooth - nothing ever is. By the way - I note that the other club with an Indian owner, whom we played yesterday, has an 'established' Manager whose methods are (in my opinion) suspect. Looking at the gentlemanly way in which Steve Kean presents himself, I know which Manager I'd back.
BuckyRover Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Exactly. Business people are generally very pragmatic. The idea that they have bitten off more than they can chew is laughable. We are part of their global expansion plans and that is not going to change after a couple of months. Many on here commentated that Ms. Desai didn't know what she was doing when she sacked Sam, it's not looking a bad decision at the moment (quite the opposite, Kean doing well, Sam no closer to being picked up). It's a learning experience for everyone.
XLM Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Talk to any non-Rovers fan and this is an all too typical view.c And it is far too early to say it is not accurate. That article is written by a moron. Stop jumping on rubbish articles written by knuckle draggers. It's fine to be sceptical. It's probably even sensible, but for God's sake articles like that are just crap written by somebody with no real idea what's going on. What is written is just made up speculation. City tried to sign Ronaldinho over 2 years ago, a completely different situation. Are all the players disgruntled by Allardyce leaving? I don't think so. The man also thinks West Ham have good owners. Tool.
roversmum Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I found that article yesterday, XLM. I didn't consider it worth linking to. Absolute rubbish. This is the sort of stuff that is being printed at the moment, by people who have no idea what they are talking about. I can't wait for Rovers to prove them wrong.
rovers_rob Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Talk to any non-Rovers fan and this is an all too typical view.c And it is far too early to say it is not accurate. It is really sad the way you find all the anti rovers articles and post them on here like they are fact. In case you haven't noticed football is played on a football pitch and we won yesterday, and on Wednesday.. not bad for a club in crisis. But as a rovers fan you must be pleased that we are winning ???
Mattyblue Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 To be fair rob, philipl loves this football club and all these 'bet you're gutted we won', 'you've been quiet since Wednesday' posts are a bit out of order.

Ok fair enough, I apologise. I got wound up reading all the anti rovers stuff after a superb week and I shouldn't have posted what I did. let me rephrase what I said. The article that was posted saying that - Blackburn are quickly becoming the laughing stock of the premier league - Steve Kean has to be the most random and most stupid appointments I have ever seen is in my opinion, complete nonsense and the suggestion that it is "too early to say it is not accurate" is, in my opinion, not fair on the manager when he has won 3 out of the last 4 games.

I have never wanted Rovers to prove everybody wrong so much in all my life. I'm still a bit unsure of Venky's, but Kean has me right on side so far. I think, in a tough sitation, he has delivered, and has earned a chance. Not sure I'd rush out with a long contract just yet, but he is definitely worthy of a chance. I like the way he comes across in interviews and his honesty is refreshing. The media love dissing Rovers so I'm refusing to read anything whatsoever to do with Rovers right now from the mainstream press, it just winds me up too much. Like the old addage, 'if you have nothing nice to say...' (I like reading Nicko's articles though, as he doesn't take great delight in insulting our great club, and seems pretty spot on).
BuckyRover Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I don't think so either. I can't remember him posting anything about the team, only the new owners.
RevidgeBlue Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Talk to any non-Rovers fan and this is an all too typical view.c And it is far too early to say it is not accurate. It's far too early to say there's the slightest element of truth to it either. In my opinion it is already completely wrong in one respect. Steve Kean is by no means "arrogant" and cocky" in fact he has come across extremely well and has conducted himself extremely well and with great dignity during a very turbulent period. You should be ashamed of yourself for linking to such a ridiculous article.
cruz Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I can't believe I wasted my time reading Philips link even when it was obvious after the first paragraph that it was written my a 10 year old

Maybe sending his team out to play football and thrashing liverpool of the park could be deemed arrogant, I mean we are just Blackburn Rovers after all. I hope Kean continues to display this arrogant streak if that's the case. Frankly I couldn't give a damn what "any non rovers fans" think of us, Phillip, try looking for a positive for once! The article is a disgrace, not worth the time it takes to read it.
True Blue & White Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Sorry if this has already been posted... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8D5SxuG5-A&feature=channel
Rover9 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 What a load of S**t, why the hell are talkshi*e (I see where the name comes from now)posting a spoof video such as this? Oh I know it is yet another 'stick' with which to ridicule and beat BRFC with! It's ok though it's only a joke Wbankers
John Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Little snippet here, Matt Scott from the Guardian, not sure if he has got his info correct.... Venky's bid for publicity - Whether Venky's shareholders would also accept the Mumbai-stock market-listed entity committing up to £7.2m a year to Ronaldinho when its most recently stated annual group profits were £29m would surely have been doubtful.
