Most of us took them at face value and believed what they said. I guess we wanted to believe what they said because we wanted it to work.

Can't see there's anything to be ashamed of in that.

I turned the day they sacked Sam which I think was the first real sign that things would go badly wrong.

Many took this as a positive move and they are really the ones with egg on their faces.

Sam's removal is what did it for me too - there was no reason for him being sacked.

Jim feels the need to dig up others indiscretions because he still hasn't lived down slagging off the Williams family.

Do you want me to dig up your posts eulogising Kean ?

Whoa whoa whoa, low blow james!

Considering I sounded my warning klaxon for weeks before the takeover saying 'where is their money going to come from?' and have been after them since the day they sacked Sam, my concience is clear

Some of the responses on the various Sam threads are so short sighted and brainless it's scary..

The Blackburn Rovers that stood for stability is dead, forget about Allardyce, hoofball etc etc and think about what this means- JW has been critically undermined, the players have lost a manager they were all behind, it is in the middle of a season that hadn't yet yeilded anywhere near enough points and it seems AGENTS are having a say over our Chairman and manager.

But aye 'Fat Sam and his ###### football are out', and that's all that matters, ay?

Good lad.

And me.I wasn't a great fan of Sams but to get rid of a good manager especially in mid season with no real replacement in mind was extremly worrying.

Hey! This is a great game ......can I play?

Yesterday evening I attended a festive function down at Ewood. At one point I noticed the elderly gentleman from the next table get up and head for the exit with his wife. It was only at this point that I recognised who it was. Gordon Lee ... the architect of one of my greatest ever Rovers memories (Plymouth 5-2 in the 74-75 promotion season). Like the Ghost of Christmas past he fleetingly ignigted memories of what seemed like a time of innocence ... but now unheralded and unrecognised by an audience largely to young remember.

As I scanned the faces of the current Ewood great and good ... both players and senior management ... the Spirit of Christmas present seemed to be one of helplessness and dignified turmoil.

Later in the evening as I lay in bed, struggling to get sleep .... with the day's events rolling through my mind ... it was the Spectre of Christmases yet to come that I feared most.

.....followed by ......

I am with you ES, I couldn't sleep- see my 3am post above! I have a knot in my stomach as I fear the Trust have sold us down the river.

Strange days indeed.

Indeed ES, so why have you been playing the WUM for the last few months?

Not a WUM Matt ... just religiously struck to my stance that protesting at games is counter-productive and (as I have always suspected) .... ultimately futile.

His post was Pre-Pune, wasn't it?

Must be a convincing bunch, or a damn good holiday, to turn around such an obviously concerned and distressed poster.

No way. You went far further with your posts than simply anti-protest. Weren't you one of the FF who was against putting out a proper statement meaning we were left with the tepid comments designed to keep the peace? And to think I even tried to be positive about that statement - knowing how difficult it must have been to get anything in print criticising the owners.

I wasn't given a holiday but my posts from back then were far more scathing than they are now.

Stuck religiously to insulting and goading the majority of supporters while, on your own admission, not having the guts to say what you were supposed to say to the lunes on your Pune freebee.

A man of principle indeed.

People cant be called for what they thought a year ago.....

I asked a fortune teller to read my future. Suddenly, she went pale and sprinted from the room. So I grabbed the crystal ball, chased the bitch down and beat her to death. I wonder what the she saw in that thing.

John you seem to have gone from one of the most rational posters on this forum to a harbinger of doom. I know you care for Rovers but for god sake it’s not that bad.

Venky’s ‘evil and sinister’? I know they have made mistakes and perhaps have been a bit misguided, but that’s going way too far.

My apologies to John.

A lot of people (myself included) were willing to give Venky's the benefit of the doubt and rightly so after years of under-investment and financial stagnation under the trust. On reflection it looks like that trust and backing was clearly misplaced.

The old argument of whether trust should be earned or whether it should be given until it's broken... I don't think anyone can be blamed for trusting that they'd run us well. Whereas 47er seems to revel in dishing out the dirt to other board members. As usual.

Bang on :tu:

I think your out of order myself. Many were willing to give both venkys and kean a chance. My view that was right to do. It was down to both venkys and kean to get things right. But they didn't. Both blew that chance that many gave them. I also recall getting told my many to give up slagging Kean off. I got a number of PM's from people on the same subject - to give it a rest. People also have the right to change opinions if they want. also change them back again.

I also do not think venkys are as stupid as some are saying. Afterall their other businesses are doing ok. I believe what they are doing at rovers is deliberate. People saying they did not know about relegation cannot be true, for example. They were told about it at the takeover stage by the prem.

Correct. Thats why he is on ignore.

What a bloody hypocrite. Nobody has been more offensive than ES. Live by the sword, you have to be prepared to die by it.

Join Piffle and put me on ignore.

You really mean you backed them throughout, when others [many of them] realised that we were going in the wrong direction from very early days?

Gave them a chance - you would only do that if you couldn't see what was happening, wouldn't you?

Every manager gets a fair crack from me, even Kidd, Ince, & Kean. If they're crap, they'll soon be put of their misery (or so I thought. I said from the very start that in all likelihood Kean would be a failure, as few PL assistants (let alone coaches) make the step-up but I gave him a chance because.... what was the alternative? I've been calling for his head for the entire season and even relegation hasn't done the trick.

Jim just thinks he can throw enough mud and it'll stick, because he's sad like that.

Mrs Desai is the Chairwoman, JW is the Chairman, best of both worlds.

Well they can, but I would choose not to. But let's face it after last seasons relegation struggle, with the team in rapid decline under Kean/Venky's, with a last day win away at Wolves securing top flight status. It didn't take a genius to imagine what might happen if Kean was in charge for a full season.

As you're a murderer though, I will respect your opinion.
