Just remember that the board picked Ince over Laudrup who are doing a great job at Mallorca at the moment. When Ince almost got us relegated the board kicked Ince out, and got Sam in. He did a great job, no money for almost 2 full seasons, he did wonders at our beloved club.

I would have given him the chance to sign some players with some money, the rumors said that we were in for Keane, Bentley and other players that are proven PL players before he got the kick.

Just my view, but Venkys need to sort out the PR and fast !

Shame Jones is out for the season as the new boss could have laid down a marker by dropping Nelsen and pair Samba with superman for the rest of the season.

And what sort of message does that send out? Say anything negative about the new owners and you'll be dropped? Thats much like no phone-ins on Radio Rover isn't it? That hide the problems---it doesn't solve them.

We should be grateful that we have a leader in the club willing to speak out.

At the moment I don't really have a clue what the future holds for my club. I don't really know what to believe. I was never Sam's biggest fan but I'd feel much more confident with him in charge over Steve Kean, especially coming into the busiest period of the season. If Venky's are wanting us to challenge for Europe etc then they seriously need to plough some money into the club, in January and next summer. If they think signing players of Chopra's ilk are gonna push us on then they seriously need to get a grip on reality. I was amazed when it became apparant we had nobody lined up to replace Sam and the club is under a great big cloud of uncertainty at the moment. The owners need to let their actions do the talking and lay off the contradictory bull ###### I keep hearing in the media. Rant over.

Open question to board members:

If all appears lost in a couple on months time and we appear to be on a one way ticket to the Chumpionship, what do we as fans plan to do about it?

An excellent & thought-provoking question - When we were relegated in the 70's under the Jim Iley/John Pickering regime the answer was simple....renew your season ticket. Under the Kidd regime the answer was the same....renew your season ticket. It was never a serious option to jack it all in for me - if anything they needed my support more than ever I thought.

However, this feels so very different. I fear that if relegation happens again I might just forget the season ticket & at best pick & choose matches....at least until I am convinced that the new owners demonstrate that they are worthy of my support & cash.

It costs me £50 a match in petrol before tickets are factored in - that & the combination of more straitened personal financial circumstances & a distinct lack of empathy for the new regime means I am very disillusioned.

Let's hope it turns out to be a storm in a teacup.....

Assuming worst case, that we go down [knock on wood], I'll keep watching and supporting the Rovers. Thankfully, the Fox Soccer TV website shows a lot of the Championship matches, so I'll be able to tune in more that I could have a few years ago.

. . . If they think signing players of Chopra's ilk are gonna push us on then they seriously need to get a grip on reality. . . .

Actually, Chopra makes a lot of sense from a marketing standpoint. He's a respectable Championship player, can apply to play for India's national team and having him make an odd appearance for the Rovers, owned by Indians, might help to attract Indian supporters. This all translates to cash.

I'm not saying he'll push us up the league table, but he should help with the Indian fans and market. Remember, its not just a club, its a business too.

If they had sacked Sam and had someone like Hiddink walk in with promises of 40 million in the window this messageboard would be in a guessing frenzy, as it is we have seen our manager sacked who pretty much knows how to keep teams in the Prem (not that I enjoyed to watch his football), no manager in line to come in, insane phone call comments to the press, 5 million warchest mentioned, names like Geovani and Boyd mentioned and a chairman that has long been known to be one of the most respected chairmen in the job that upset he nearly walked, not to mention that they are seeking advice from people that are'nt exactly known for being honest.

The players now seem very unhappy about it and the caretaker boss who people think is just a yes man had a terrible start and did nothing to ease the fears seems like he is being backed by the owners and now we have just lost our young talisman for the season.

I always look on the bright side but I am struggling to find one at the minute, I think January will be a big month for us as in football and signings to see where the club is going.

HK took over in summer of 1979 following relegation & got us promoted first time....and so nearly did it again the following season.....blah blah Preston, Swansea...coming back from Eastville etc, etc !

I shared your amazement - I assumed that they had lined up a bigger name manager, with a reputation for attractive football.

I am amazed that if the Venky's are being advised by Kentara - that they are getting such bad advice.

IF they believe that Kean is the man - they should say so - and say he is on an x month trial. Not give out misleading messages.

I do wonder how they view all the publicity ? They say there is no such thing as bad publicity - but at the moment they are being made to look naive to say the least. I keep hoping that they will pull a rabbit out of the hat - maybe a far bigger transfer budget or even a new big-name manager. Unfortunately though - this all seems like a bad dream - and what little faith I had in our new owners is ebbing away.

I have been slagged off for posting this before but Steve Keen is represented by Kentaro.

'nuff said.

So why post it again - unless you just want a reaction ?

Steve Kean seems to have a very good reputation and has handled himself well since the events of the last week. Whoever is agent - he is manager of Rovers - with more coaching credentials it would seem than Paul Ince - so let the guy get on with his job.

Hi, I'm new to the board. I didn't realise it existed, somehow. I have been in absolute bits this past week, fearing the worst, actually grieving. The ONLY solace I have found is that others who care for Rovers feel the same way.

What an absolute mess.

Welcome aboard.

You will have noticed that we do have some posters who are positively overjoyed at what is happening to our club, go figure eh

Some of the criticism of Steve Kean after one game having had the situation dropped on his toes is scandalous.

You, in particular, with sly incinuations and your purile "Keantaro" jibe, are a disgrace.

Dalglish and Souness crticise Venky's in the LT.

An Indian blog comments on the Venky's purchase saying they have not started well.i The vote on Are you happy about Venky's buying Blackburn Rovers? is currently registering 82% No.

As for Steve Kean, nothing but nothing can convince based on what I know now that he would have been given the opportunity had he not been a Kentaro client. Kentaro got him the job- it is as simple as that.

Is what you know fact? Just seems like an opinion. You should be careful you could be liable for making a statement like that without proof. Sound familiar?
