There was no reference in the tender document for the minority shares to any assets of BRFC being excluded from the sale to Venky's London. Therefore legally, I cannot see how Brockhall could have been excluded from the transfer of ownership.

Unless Brockhall was held seperately from the Trust and only used by BRFC?

Unless it is a seperate entity, the sale included the condition that the club is permenantly to be run as a football club did it not

No - Brockhall is an asset in the Rovers' accounts.

The Andy Cryer article with Mrs Desai

Mrs Desai, who has previously suggested there would be £5m available at the turn of the year, has now insisted there will be a ‘lot more’ money to spend on transfers although would not put an exact figure on available funds.

She said: “At the moment we are researching and looking at the various options and meanwhile Steve Kean will continue to take charge of the team.

“We are not going to hurry. The next decision is a big decision to make and we want to take our time to make sure we make the right decision.

“There is no way we are going to hurry, maybe we will make a call in March, but if Steve Kean does well before that then he will have put himself in a good position to continue.”

Mrs Desai said: “Steve will still be doing the job January. He will have control over the signings in January and, although he will have to discuss things with the board, he will have the final say.

“There is more than £5million available to him. I would rather not say how much, I will say that when the time is right, but I can say there will be a lot more than £5m.

“We are looking at options for January but please give us some time.”

Kean’s links to SEM, partners of Kentaro, have led to fears he will be used a ‘yes man’ for the owners and their advisors.

But Mrs Desai has rubbished the speculation and insists Kentaro, or SEM, have no special relationship with them.

“We do not have any exclusive agreement with Kentaro,” she said. “They are one of the groups who are consulting us but they are not the only one. What has been written is not true."

I can only assume that her brother's comment about them being like family is a misquote.

I put the following comment on Venky's facebook page

We (Rovers Fans) need some form of communication from you to put our minds at rest. There is a hell of a lot of speculation circulating at the moment and your silence is certainly not helping matters. I would like a statement from you lot and also get your a$$es over here for the Stoke match on Sunday. Maybe address the fans in the pre-match programme and also at half time

This was their response....

Well. We can understand you. We are trying our best to make things better. Planning to invest more than 8 million for the next transfer season. Seraching for the best available players. Hope for the best. We need you kind support to make our team stronger.

My facebook page is lee.walsh2 or just search the Venkys facebook page. (Facebook is blocked here at work)

Ok the owner wont tell us exactley how much she is willing to spend (rightly so as prices will go up) but someone who is in charge of the Venky's facebook page states a figure. I am sure Miss Desai will be delighted!!!

I don't think any of this has anything at all to do with football, it's all about the takeaway franchise KFC style.

Until recent weeks I had never heard of Venkys and I daresay neither had most of the UK, yet within a week they have a massive profile in the press and anyone who reads any newspaper will probably have seen their name at least once. They needed something to get their brand out there and they have done it with some ooomph.

I sincerely believe we are a vehicle to something much bigger for them. If they can start selling out franchises for their brand here whatever money they blew on us would be nothing to them by comparison with their expected returns from the sale of franchises/ Venks directly owned places. Once we've served our purpose they won't care what happens to us and will probably sell us on, regardless of what league we are in and although they may one day appear to take a loss on the future sale the reality will be much nicer for them.

Initially the only people not likely to patronise a Venkys would be ourselves and Burnley fans. Once we're ruined and they've walked off into the sunset even Burnley fans will probably go there.

I am led to believe that Brockhall and Ewood will, allegedly, belong to Venky's after a period of 21 years. During this period the trust will receive an annual lease payment.

What would seem like a complicated arrangement would actually prevent two of the clubs major assets from being used in any asset stripping process.

Excellent point. In terms of publicity I can scarcely think of something they could have done to attract more attention.

The more you think about it, the more true (and worrying) it seems.

More worrying is that if this is the case, we're the thin end of a very thick wedge so while other fans may be laughling their heads off right now, they could potentially get theirs further down the line.
