Doesnt surprise me at all, we will all have to fall into line, the hell we will, I am more determined to fight this now, but there are proper ways without giving the mods team any probs on here, they have enough on.

Wonder if we didnt buy programmes, didnt buy a pie or food and a pint for a few games, dont buy merchandise, especially if contains Venkys name or logo, if we all did it, it would hit them in the pocket and we could still support the team!!

I think thats taking protest a bit to far. A pie and a pint is the only enjoyment I get at Ewood these days.

No.

Our longest stint will have been from the formation of the football league-approx 1888-to around 1936 when we were first relegated.

It's our longest stint since then.

Yes, sorry, stand corrected, but to be honest, I don't remember it! LOL

Did anyone hear Howard Walker, Jacks son on Radio Lancs yesterday?

I am told he said his dad would be spinning in his grave at what had happened at the club, that the takeover was not supposed to be like this and Venkys representatives, during takeover discussions, made various promises which have been broken, he did not elaborate.

The person of the Walker family who looks after the Purse strings is Jacks daughter Carol (is she Matthewmans wife?)

as Jack didnt trust the sons with money, they would spend it unwisely, as yet I havent heard any comments from her personally, but from Howards interview, the Walker family are not happy with the situation to say the least.

How very sad to read.Like I say, possibly 20 years of hard work about to go down the drain.

I cant trust people who have lied to the very people, the supporters, who they need support from, they stop people from saying anything against them on Radio Rovers, then Ban people on the official website who do the same, what bloody year are we in, where a preacher preaching hatred can do what the hell he likes, yet we cant air our views against the Pune Chicken Hillbillies?

Surely they are breaching human and civil rights?

That bit about Flybe is wrong.

"there will be no windfall for the airline's biggest shareholder, Rosedale Aviation Holdings, controlled by the family trust of the late British industrialist Jack Walker."

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/article-1334563/Jitters-fail-ground-flybe-float.html#ixzz18qVj2dkd

The float simply raised new capital to fund Flybe's expansion.

Well its been reported differently elsewhere so as usual Its hard to know what to make of it. Point taken though.

Being one of those chaps that remembers the 1980's, I can assure you that there weren't any internet messageboards then when things weren't going to plan and people were a tad fed up. I'm sure those who were there all recall what it was like back then.

People being banned from the official website? No phone in on Radio Rovers? Community programme's allegedly being cut? Venkeys of London (subsiduary BRFC), New temporary manager summoned to India to have talks rather than organising the players for the next game? More club spokespeople than you can shake a chicken at? Mixed messages? Club Captain speaking out voicing concern? Team Captain on the verge of putting a transfer request in? New manager with no managerial experience whatsover in charge of the transfer debt / budget and keeping us up? Owners who admit to knowing nothing about football? Owners taking advice only from 3rd parties? Owners apparently not listening to our well respected Chairman, a man who knows how it's done? Several posters / long standing fans stating they've had enough of BRFC and are ready to turn it all in?

I've no doubt missed some other highlights.

It pains me to say it, I'm trying to give them time, but it's increasingly obvious to this poster, in my opinion, that the job is well and truly knackered.

See you on Boxing Day.

Before Q and A at the AGM today, JW said that although there were no members of the press present,he realised anything said could end up in the public domain so he would only say things he could justify at a later date.

What I am about to write is not a full resume of what was said, but I believe it to be without inaccuracies.

Management:JW didn't believe the MU humiliation was the main factor in Allardyce's sacking-he thought the new owners had made their minds up before then. (He didn't explain what the main factor was).

Similarly, neither the owners nor agents had turned down Allardyce's suggested list of transfer targets for Jan.

They had never seen the list!!

The owners had a favourable view of Kean. However, there was no discussion as to what that judgement was based on.

Player Purchase Process:Allardyce delegated a lot of the work to scouts who would do extensive reporting. There were then meetings with Allardyce, McDonald, JW and about 3 others.Consideration was paid to age, length of contract, purchase price etc before players were added to the list.

Kean has never been involved in this process at the Rovers. JW presumed Kean would work with the current list of potential aquisitions.

Change of ownership:The Walker Trust had wanted to sell for some time. The club were getting to the stage where in addition to not receiving further funding, they were going to have start repaying £5 mil. of the loans at the rate of £1 mil p.a.

David Brown, the vice-chair, and Rothschilds, were responsible for vetting the purchasers and reporting back to the trustees. The fact that, like London buses, a number of potential purchasers arrived at the same time made the process slightly more complicated, but we were left with the impression Venky's was deemed to be the best of the lot.

Agents list of players:a figure of 16-20 players was mentioned-but it wasn't confirmed as the exact number submitted. However, 1 younger player was regarded favourably by the club. He had been watched a few times and the club were keen. There were 2/3 others who were possibles. JW said that ratio compared favourably with lists/ suggestions from other agents who sometimes suggested 4 players, non of whom were good enoug, for example.

Management changes: JW was always wary of it at the best of times-it can leave a club vulnerable. He believed the owners were looking up the table rather than down when they removed Allardyce. In other words, how high in the table could they get the club to?

JW accepted it was not the ideal time for it-before winable matches and the transfer window, for example.

He thinks it is a very big challenge for Kean, but he thinks he is up to it.

Style of management: The Walker Trust, despite David Brown being vice chair, were very hands off owners. It sounds as though there will be a big change with the new owners.

Odds and sods:Why was Kean in India?

- to seek clarification about his position.

- to seek clarification about transfer funds

- to improve communications between Pune and Blackburn.

JW said Samba had not submitted either a written or oral transfer request i.e. before the meeting started.

The ground and Brockhall were included in the sale to Venky's.

JW firmly believed Venky's want to make a success of their purchase of the club

Not seen this posted before but an interesting read about Desai the Chairwoman:

http://indiatoday.intoday.in/site/Story/122764/mother-hen.html?page=0

As for the key to her success, she says, "My father would always lecture us on business and once asked me, "What do you think management is?" I said, "It's common sense." To which he said, "Exactly. That's what it is." This is the one message of his that seems to have stuck.

Thank you for that summary.

There is a very interesting and inspiring profile of Mrs Desai posted on the message board. She says business is a matter of common sense which I would agree with one caveat- you need to know and understand what you are dealing with before anything makes sense- common or otherwise.

I would urge her to please get over to Ewood and spend a day or two just asking questions and listening.
