Looks like Rovers are getting another battering on the Sunday Supplement live on TV right now.

Congratulations Philip on this post which does not contain either of the names "Jerome Anderson" or "Kentaro"!

Agree with you though.Wonder what the anti-Sam brigade would have been saying on here after a performance like that?

Would you congratulate a doctor for not saying "cancer" or "malignant tumour"?

Nothing we haven't heard before but the following:

Saying Blackburn fans must be very worried

Indians don't have a clue

Massive conflict of interest at Blackburn (Kentaro)

Mentioning SAF blast at Jerome Anderson

Indian owners could be craziest of the lot

What did Souness say?

One of a few people out there with a real affinity for the club. Funny how most people move away, dont have any success yet rarely even mention the name Blackburn Rovers.

Tim Sherwood has said we were the BEST club he ever played for.

The headline is New owners are like cowboys with pics of the chuckle brothers.

He goes on to say they havent got a clue, that to consider Rovers as a top 5 or even 6 club without significant investment is foolish to say the least, Rovers are a small club and to remain in the premiership for the size of our club (he mentions us as a small prem club, which is correct) He goes on to say that he was not a fan of Sams style of football but the manner of the sacking was unneccessary. He believes the new owners will fail and that just because the new owners know how to sell a chicken or two, they have a total lack of understanding of how football works. He concludes that plenty of people with much more money and successfull businesses than Venkys HAVE FAILED IN FOOTBALL ALREADY AND HE EXPECTS THEM TO FAIL TOO

And now Souness blasts our owners and advisors - Daily Star today!!

This is beyond painful.

Now every mass circulation newspaper and every major TV station has absolutely thrashed the good name of Blackburn Rovers. And they are sadly right to do so- there is no case for the defence.

In one week the brand of Blackburn Rovers has been rubbished like it has never been before in the club's 135 year history given there is far more media today.

Venky's as a brand has become so toxic that it could only be shown once on the Ewood Park big screen for fear of causing civil disobedience.

Any marketing expert would already say that using Venky's in the UK is a waste of marketing money. They will have to come in under a totally different brand name because the name Venky's will damage whatever it is tagged to.

I just wonder what the hell was going on during the negotiations to buy the club?. How did The Walker Trust see fit to do business with these guys??

It seems like The Trust wanted to stick two fingers to the fans on their way out to me...

Well said that man.

What discussions took place? Obviously you need to know the finances of both parties. But didn't the Trust at any stage say: "How do you see the first 12 months of your stewardship of the club"

I can see Wenky's wanting to get shot of us after 12 motnhs, they're attracting such negative press. Problem is, I don't think there'll be any restrictions on who they can sell to.

Either that or the trust were told blatent lies, in which case I would contend the sale should become invalid as the sale was decided after meeting various interested parties and the ones who came over in the best light sealed the deal.

But, if Venkys were the best, the others must have been bloody awful, which I doubt, I think in all honesty, just as we the supporters, have been mislead by a bunch of cowboys!

What Souness said which irks me is that Blackburn are a small club and the BEST that they can hope for is survival, what a load of tosh, with a mentality like that we would never have won the title. Top 5 is possible with the right funds, he'll top 4 is possible too but how much are the owners going to invest?

More importantly, who is going to identify and potential transfer targets?

Edit. Even more importantly, who of any decent standard, is going to want to join a club which has now become a circus and laughing stock?

Never thought I'd see the day when I was indifferent to Blackburn Rovers. After this week and today, I feel that it is no longer 'my club' as I'm sure a lot of other supporters feel.

The comments by many on the match today capture, IMO, a consensus by the many - I believe that perception is reality.

I am not sure where we go from here but it doesn't feel like we are in for a comfortable ride.

I am seriously thinking of jumping-off this journey as I don't think I can stomach the destination.

I have to be honest, I feel in a similar state, I've been a Rovers fan since the 90s, and although I'm not in agreement with Sams sacking I did hold out hope (and I guess still do) that the owners will have a trick or two up their sleeve

But, I've been feeling numb since the whole process has been in the open, even back when the other guys were looking into buying the club, didn't ever really think that someone would take over and plough 300m into the club in x years, but this lot do seen like they are being badly advised at the minimum.

And in the past few weeks I've been thinking about finding another team to follow - but I can't bring myself to do it, I think I'd just stop caring about football completely and go and find something else to do with that part of my time...

Sad but isn't this time of year supposed to be the most depressing time of year generally?

Heres a positive, IF Anderson and Kentaro are genuine and honest, proper advisors to Venkys, I would advise this scenario.

Mrs D, I relly apologise but we have called wrongly at Blackburn Rovers, we have made a mistake, the mmod of the suppor4ters and players along with the performance showed we perhaps should listen to, people from inside the club, I suggest you get a flight over to the UK, apologise to John Williams and take hias advice, he knows the club, the supporters and their mentality.

Then perhaps a meeting with the players to get their mood and feelings, after all, they are footballers, experienced within their proffession and then make your decisions from there!!

Will they do it, of course they wont as that will affect their hidden agenda!

I'm just wondering if their thinking was that we'll take Rovers over, put some money in, get into the Champion's League, with Venky's on the front of the shirts, and get brand awareness across Europe.

That would be shocking naievty, but Kentaro may have been whispering sweet nothing's in their ear to make them think it was possible without spending too much money.

if that was their plan, they will need to do some re-thinking.

On a related note, what would people now think if the ground was re-named "Venky's Ewood"?

That would be pretty cool but sure Mrs Desai said that they would be looking for outside sponsorship for the stadium?

Still can't wait for all these global giants waiting with excitement to invest in us now, just because we have got Indian owners.
