rovers1995 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Salgado with his 5th yellow. 1 match ban
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Feel for Kalinic, ref's giving him nothing. He's had a decent game so far. Almost set up Dunny just then.
bennyboyt11 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Great couple of touches for Kalinic there, first to lay off for Diouf and the second to Dunn who, if he wasn't so fat and slow, could have prodded it in for a second.
Bobby G Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Very poor match. I cant really talk about any positives. West Brom will get better after HT. We need to be livelier going forward.
booth Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Dunn moaning about Kalinic's pass If he was more alert he would have had it. Agreed, a quicker any other player would have got to that.
Miker Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I thought it would have been painfully obvious that we need a holding midfielder in there. Put Linganzi on FFS and take off Dunn. Seconded. Doing OK-ish so far though, especially by the standards of our last 2 games.

G Somerset Rover Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Salgado with his 5th yellow. 1 match ban Guy could do with a rest, sounds like it's showing today. Comon, for the love of God can we get 3 points here to turn all of this misery around.
Fife Rover Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 My god he is rubbish. Please let him never put the shirt on again. It's like watching a Sunday league player at times. Let's see now .....there are only eleven Rovers players on the pitch so that makes it an easy guess. I know it can only be.........???????
tony gale's mic Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Robinsons limping off Andy Cryer can see into the future? Anyway, that was okay, all told. First time when I can say I wouldve been satisfied with that under the previous regime. Not too many positives but we held our own.
joey_big_nose Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Hoilett on for Dunn seems a shoo-in of a decision. David is so so far off the pace. Really worried about the shape. As others have said the complete lack of a holding players is daft. We got done by West Ham because of this. Kean should instruct Emerton to sit deep, or bring someone on to do it. Without Jones, Grella and Nzonzi there is no obvious choice for a sitter, but we can't have 30 yards between midfield and up front! On balance we should be losing this. Really worried.
Majiball Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Many thanks to all those who PM'd, the traffic seems much clearer now.
AggyBlue Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Very poor match. I cant really talk about any positives. West Brom will get better after HT. We need to be livelier going forward. I've enjoyed the fist half. Very open, either side can win this.
Amo Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Without Jones, Grella and Nzonzi there is no obvious choice for a sitter There's LINGANZI!
imy9 Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 To sum up, a very enjoyable first half of football. West Brom look very good on the ball and pass like a mini Arsenal. We have played well and passed the ball well too- I can see what Kean is trying to do and it is beginning to show, however we have a non existant midfield and our right back is getting battered. I would take Salgado off, put Emerton at RB and stick Linganzi in the middle.
beerwins Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 If we can get 3 points here it will do the whole club good, settle the fans, take a bit of pressure off Kean and give the players some confidence. Then we can look to the window to strengthen our weak areas. COYB
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Very poor match. I cant really talk about any positives. I think that's a bit harsh. Linking the play up front we seem to be doing ok, getting Kalinic on the ball more is good to see. Defensively though we look shocking and that's largely due to the midfield in front of them. They are finding it too easy to get the ball to Thomas on our right and he runs at Salgado. Salgado may have to go off, on a yellow and I just get that feeling he is going to target him in the second half to bring up the red card. Still in this game but we need to do something about the midfield otherwise I expect West Brom to score another. I agree with Topman we should put Linganzi on.
doctorryan Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Smarter than I am. I am watching man city and tottenham on fox Foxsoccer.tv John. It's only available in the US & covers every match not picked up by Fox Soccer Channel, Fox Soccer + & the ESPNs.
King Kenny's Magic Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Matin Olsson is no left back- that was just too easy for the Baggies. So the goal was nothing to do with Salgado either? If MS had kept goal side then we would have been ok
chris Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I think I'd take a draw after that, we showed some potential but WstBrom were on top
alexanders Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Really enjoying the game so far. Much nicer passing from Rovers and our youngsters Olsson and Kalinic look really lively. The entertainment is back.
