Backroom Tom Posted December 28, 2010 Backroom Posted December 28, 2010 Never doubted Keano Still think Dunn playing is wrong though. Let's go and do sunderland now.
Gogger Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 "#brfc fans been terrific all afternoon, now taunting #wbafc with "how **** must you be, we're winning away". Genius."
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Excellent stuff - now for a new midfield, hopefully all in place for Jan 1st! Hope Robbo not to serious.
Majiball Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Pedersen sets West Brom on the break with a delightful pass. "You Always Hurt the One You Love"
yankrover Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Very entertaining match and a great result. We still give the ball away far too easily when we're under no pressure, but on the whole you can't complain about winning 3-1 on the road. Very impressed by Olsson today, and that was definitely Kalinic's best performance (until the red card).
RibbleValleyRover Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Huge win and one I didn’t see coming. Considering our away record, all the recent turmoil on and off the pitch and the injuries to key players it really was a good result. Sure we were a bit lucky at times that we weren't punished, but from an attacking point of view I thought we looked a lot better. Kalinic had a great game and it's such a shame that the red card will take away from the efforts he put in today. M.Diouf looked lively at times at deserved the goal, Olsson I thought had a very good game indeed, always looks better going forward than defending. Hoilett showed some glimpses of the talent he possesses and I thought E.Diouf had a solid game as well linking up play on the wing. The young lad Hanley had a better game and Bunn continued the great work that Robbo did in the first half by making some terrific saves in the second half. It’s clear from the performance that the central midfield really does need addressing in the transfer window. No real balance there, offensively it doesn't create much and defensively we look very weak at times. If the midfield can't protect the back four then eventually the constant pressure will take its toll. Was the win deserved? Hard to say as I thought West Brom could have easily won the game or sneaked a point. But who cares it was a much needed win and a much better effort than we saw in the previous two games. Fair play to Steve Kean as well he got them fired up especially in the second half and got them more organised. This great win should give him and the team a major confidence boost going into the Sunderland game.
Lathund Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Amazed that we managed to win without any players who can play CM in a 4-4-2 (Well, apart from Emerton I guess. But he's not a natural there). Well done to everyone involved. Great to see Niko score a couple, now let's just hope it's a 1 match ban, although I fear that may very well be classed as violent conduct and be 3. Bunn looked very good. Made a fantastic save, and a couple more ordinary ones. Handled the ball cleanly as well. I don't think there's anything in the rumours that Robinson wants away, but we do look pretty well set for keepers if that happens (Fielding and Kean being highly rated).
Valois Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Great save Bunn again. Great defending down to 10 men, and what a good win. Dunn average again, but everyone else played well. Bunn was awesome, mame played brilliantly upfront on his own went Kali got sent off. Ollson quality on the left. Kalli challange was terrible, didnt mean it, but wasnt good. But same for Tamas challange, absolutely awful. Thought Hanley did ok as well. Clearly need a box to box midfielder and another centre foward in the transfer window, but things are certainly looking a lot better than Sunday. England to retain the Ashes this evening to cap off a wondeful day.
m1st Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Seriously though; wouldn't it just be like Rovers to go and win this one? 2-1 to us, hopefully. I really must stop being so negative!!
Muddboy Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Wooo hooo! Brilliant result in the face of serious adversity. Now, let's kick on from here and put the last couple of weeks behind us. Come on Rovers!
Roversider Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Fair play to Steve Kean as well he got them fired up especially in the second half and got them more organised. This great win should give him and the team a major confidence boost going into the Sunderland game. This is the manager who some of the posters here say hasn't got the players behind him? The result plus the comments by key players should surely go some way to making the anti-Kean brigade think again. Now to add some more players in January, remind Samba that we are a good place to play football and 2011 will start well. Well done to the team and the management.
Mattyblue Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Niko and Mama Diouf terrorised them. Bloody hell, the relief I am feeling at this moment! That has made my Christmas!
martmitch Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 No offsides today. Wow, that's rare. Not when Roberts is nowhere near the pitch it isn't
Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 9th in the league. 8pts from Champions League. We'd be sixth if we beat Stoke and West Ham. Oh well, top 5 here we come!
Bobby G Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Brilliant result. And for 20 minutes at the start of the second half we dominated them and pushed them back. Kalinic with a disastrous rush of blood which will take him out of the side for a couple of key games. Is he out for more than one game now? We rode our luck defensively a bit and Bunn pulled off a fantastic reflex save and looked relatively confident. If he would come off his line a little bit he would let the defence push up a bit, cause they were backing right onto him due to his reluctance to move off the line. Diouf (El Hadji) was fired up today and he really put in a defensive shift in the second half. Overall, the 3 points were crucial. Players didnt seem as chuffed with it at the end of the game though.
