All very true and has been apparent for some time, but be careful or you will be accused of having an "agenda".

It was also reported that Kean flew to India off his own bat when he took over from Sam to talk to the new owners about their plans (and agree the terms of a long term contract) so why didn't he also fly to Brazil to talk to Ronaldinho ?

Introducing himself to Ronaldinho might have impressed the Brazilian and swayed his decision but more likely Kean knew the whole charade was a non-starter from the beginning.

Keep the jibes coming while you can jim.

Because the way Kean is starting to get the team to play, and the way the reults are starting to come, you might not be able to make them too much longer without looking completely foolish.

Aside from giving a good presser, I have noticed Kean seems to be extremely knowledgeable. Having watched a few of his interviews, including the Rovers Player ones (which are usually more in-depth), he seems to reel off a lot of stats to back up his thinking.

The move by Blackburn's new owners - the wealthy Desai family from India - wasn't welcomed by the fans and the English media.

Surely they mean the Rao family?

Very good interview, Kean seems determined to grasp this opportunity and IMO has made a decent start.

"We're chasing players and will sign a minimum of four this month.

"We finished 10th last season and want to improve on that. I don't find that task daunting, I find it exciting.

"We will need a strong finish and the aim is to get 55 points.

"We want at least 60 points next season to push for Europe."

It is statements like these that make me warm to Kean. I have to keep reminding myself that it's results that count, as his rhetoric is exactly what I want to hear from a Rovers manager, positive and aggressive.

But to get to 55 points, we'll need 27 points from the next 16 matches, or an average of 1.67 per game. A very good return. Sam only managed a return of 1.3 over all last season. Let's see if Kean can first match Sam and, over the next 16 games, surpass him.

Reminds me of Hughes, aiming high and wanting the best for Rovers and talking us up in the media!

Putting aside any issues/concerns I have with the background over his appointment etc, I have been impressed with Kean so far. Still very early days though, so making finite judgements either way, is probably not too accurate.

The fact he is untested as a manager means none of us know what to expect.

It will be interesting to see the type of player is brought into the club, if/when we make signings.

You have taken a very level headed opinion on this subject. It's refreshing to read.

My view has not really alerted, as to date, I have not commented much on Kean’s performances as manager (whether I think he is doing well or not) – or on aspects like general decision making, tactics, team selection etc.

My ‘gripe’ has been over the (speculated) real reasons behind his appointment as manager and how this potentially could affect the running of our club in the present/future (however let’s not open up that debate on this thread). Let’s keep this thread on track by discussing his managerial abilities.

The sound or reverse gears grinding into place can be heard loud and clear. Poor Kean is finding out just how humiliating and undermining the role of YES man to the Venky mob can be. I wonder how much he can take? Obviously more than Allardyce and thats why he got the job.... but every man must have his personal breaking point.

Hmmmm

“Hopefully we’ll have one or two additions to come in before the Chelsea game to take pressure off the squad"
"We will be having a press conference (on Friday) ahead of the QPR game and at least getting one or two bodies in before then."

anyone else spot a theme, Keano STFU until we actually sign someone please!

Completely opposite from what we are used to with the Walker Trust and the managerership of Mark Hughes and Sam Allardyce. I don't like it and it smacks of unprofessionalism. There is absolutely nothing to be gained and much to be lost by publically gobbing off every other day. Broadcasting ones intent is foolish in any business. The bloody lot of em need to remember that Actions speak far louder than words.

I agree with you to an extent Gord but I'm willing to give Kean the benefit of the doubt for now purely because I feel he's trying too hard to get/keep the fans onside.

If this carries on for the duration of the new regime, it's not something I'll be particularly fond of.

I think Kean needs to have a serious word with John Williams and ask him what the hell he is doing with the list of targets he was given.

Ooops sorry I forgot it's all Keans fault, silly me

You do suprise me. Does JW still go into Ewood Park cruz? If so why and for what reason?

Yeah. He has to get them on his side as soon as possible, because as is clear from his first couple of games in charge, quite a lot of them are.. I don't know the PC word.
