chaddyrovers Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 WBA was definitely 4-4-2. In fact, I'm certain it was a diamond formation. Roque and Kalinic started anyway. I meant WBA away, when Kalinic scored 2 and was sent off and Mama Diouf scored the other. here the match report http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10303~52016,00.html

whalleyrover Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I believe that the pressure is on Steve Kean to get some results soon or the owners will replace him very soon.
JAL Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I believe that the pressure is on Steve Kean to get some results soon or the owners will replace him very soon. Is this what BPF is inferring to on post 1304.
Kelbo Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I believe that the pressure is on Steve Kean to get some results soon or the owners will replace him very soon. I hope he does get the results as I am a Rovers fan and want to retain our premier league status, yes the pressure is on, he has two chances as I see it, either his two signings really can make a difference and that is a big ask as neither have played in the premiership before or he changes from the diamond formation which doesnt suit the team and stick with it so each player is sure of their role week in and week out. For me it either has to be 4-4-2 or 4-5-1.
JAL Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I believe that the pressure is on Steve Kean to get some results soon or the owners will replace him very soon. On second thoughts is this why Nicko prints the Andrews story, to give a negative against Kean to throw at him at a later date. Build em up then knock em down theory.
PAFELL Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 All is well, I promise. Ok clarify. Or are you changing your name to mistic meg?
chaddyrovers Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Claudio Ranieri would be a good choice for us to be the rovers next manager. could take over from Kean in the summer. Has a wealth of expereince in different leagues, tactical aware, PL experience as manager. I think he would be an excellent choice as manager, whether it will happen I don't know. the next 3 games are vital for us. But if we lost the next 3 games I can't see him being manager after the Blackpool game. the pressure would be on from the fans for him to be sacked

The irony remains that for a club with either no, very little or on borrowed money Allardyce would still be best suited.
Exiled in Toronto Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Ranieri? The irony remains that for a club with either no, very little or on borrowed money Allardyce would still be best suited. You do know he's not coming back don't you?
thenodrog Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Of course. I think by now that many are now coming around to the fact that the new owners can't actually afford him.

But if we lost the next 3 games I can't see him being manager after the Blackpool game. the pressure would be on from the fans for him to be sacked The next three games are important - and I agree that the pressure will be on Kean if we end up with less than 3 or 4 points from those games. However, sacked because of fan pressure - since when have our new owners considered the fans opinions ? Next three games will be very interesting - looking at the table we still aren't too far off the top 7 - though I admit our recent results would have us looking over our shoulders rather than upwards.
Amo Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Of course. I think by now that many are now coming around to the fact that the new owners can't actually afford him. But they can afford to sack him and pay his comp, when his contract expired this summer?

Let's say we lost the next 2 games and I'm not saying we will but if we do. I think the fans will voice their views. I'm going to both games aswell. But when we play Blackpool, let's say we are getting beat 2 nil halfway through second half we are not playing well and the performance is like the Newcastle game. I honestly think that some fans will start singing 'Kean Out' and personally won't but I know of some fans who will. I personally hope we win the next 3 games and Kean proves that he does have the abilty to be a PL manager.
rebelmswar Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I have often wondered when it is acceptable to stop supporting someone. How can ones support turn to a lack of support? I have yet to really dislike anyone that is affiliated with my cherished Rovers. Even when Ince was appointed I wished him well and hoped that he would do well. I did not think he would, I hoped he would. That left me with a feeling of unease, a dread gnawing in the back of my mind, much like a rat chewing on the mooring line of my sanity. I feel that's what this problem is, hope. Never has a word been filled with so much subconscious longings. We hoped that a green manager would do well, we put our soul behind a person that should by rights still be running around after players making sure they do their pushups. Ince had more managerial experience than our present manager, and yet we trust this one more. Why? Is it because he can talk in a public setting better? Is it because he has his badges, or does he? Is it because he was here already? Or is it simply because we refuse to let go of that stubborn hope that we have not made the same mistake again? I am hoping we will do well. I am hoping he will come good. Change we can believe in, there's a slogan for you. Change, hope - all of it are dreams.
greco Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 as a midtable team, we are bound to loe some nd wine some, as pf now consintency is out of the question. <<<juat like every other midtabel team. With that said, im losing faith in kean, some of his line ups and sutistutions, hav been nothing short of weird and i really mean waerd. i cnat remember which poster that ais, that the newcastle game, was one of the seasons most importants game(yeah yeah every game is important), but given our firmand skiding down the table,a turnarounf would rock. Hexk these 2 away games are of greater importance then the toons game, so at least 3 ponts from those, or im hoping for a quick solution, where a new man gets appointed. ffs has he played 12 gaqmes so far in the legue and gotten 10 points, so to me, the next 2 fgames are do or die for jerome anderson... oopppss meant kaan

G Somerset Rover Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Massive few games ahead now for Kean. What I would say is the new owners have already proved how unpredictable they are, so if we were to lose the next three I wouldn't be surprised to see them pull the trigger. Jerome Anderson or no Jerome Anderson they're not going to want to see their club head for the trapdoors of the Premier League. I'd say Kean needs a minimum of 4 points from the next three games to ensure that he doesn't face a fan backlash - or the wrath of the clubs owners. I wonder if they have any other VIP bashes lined up in Pune?
Bobby G Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Maybe the novelty factor has worn off and hence bashes are not in the pipeline.

Love it ;-) ill give it another go. As a midtable team, we are bound to be struck by the lightning, also known as inconsistency, just like very other team in our situation. allthough i must confess, that our form seems to be going in the wrong direction. i cant remember which poster mentioned it , but he felt that the next 2 gamesare the most vital in this season, perhaps a bit over the top, but really not by much. Our form is sliding and besides beating wba and liverpool in disguise, we havent done much. And for the amount of games played our points to game ratio is close to relegation form. we NEED a win in one of those games, otherwise we will have a game to points ratio that sucks even more and and inexperienced manager to cope with such a situation. A situation, where we might be a lose away form a relegation battle.. the next games are gonna be nerve wrecking

JAL Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Steve Kean and fellow SEM client Charlie Nicholas are on Goals on Sunday this Sunday. We all know by now that he can talk a good game, so lets hope for his sake and ours that he gets a result at Villa otherwise his words will seem very empty.
