roverwhelmed Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 It doesn't surprise me at all that our supporters are enraged and want Kean out. He should never have been put into this position, and whoever decided to appoint him was being extremely unfair on the players, the supporters and ultimately - him. I feel sorry for him, and can't (in my heart of hearts) blame him for jumping at this unlikely of opportunities. He says he didn't stab Sam in the back, I am going to take him at his word because there is no evidence that this is not the case. Rumours, indeed, but I refuse to form my opinions based around conjecture. In the crazy chaotic days of mid December, listening to Keano was slightly comforting because he wasn't constantly contradicting himself and sounded fairly reasonable. As Nicko pointed out, he used his initiative, jumped on a plane and got over there and found out what was going on. The guy had spark, and I just hoped against hope this massive miracle might happen. The doubts that I have now are mostly based around his own assertion, and that of Mrs Desai - around his relationship with JW. I can't help but be swayed by those comments. Not to mention the baffling selections, tactics and decisions.

Bobby G Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 50-1 to be next sacked or to be sacked before seasons end?
Andy Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 50-1 to be next sacked or to be sacked before seasons end? Ooo...they're cheeky odds, might have a bite at that.
Bobby G Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Well you cant say Kean doesnt talk a good game. Maybe a spell in the media after his stint with us ends?
blue_and_white Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Come on guys, at least we're playing good football now. I think everyone would agree the last few months have been a lot more fun than the previous 18 under Allardyce. Plus our manager isn't fat anymore (obviously massively important as it was mentioned in every single criticism of the previous one) and big clubs/London media don't get irritated by us upsetting the apple cart so don't insult our style of play anymore. We're exactly like Blackpool now, which seems to be what a lot of our fans wanted, in all their infinite wisdom.
Mozzer Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 steve kean being in charge is very much reminding me of when paul ince was in charge we went from solid at the back under mark hughes to a team that didnt look like we new what do we went from solid at the back under sam allardyce to a team that hasnt a clue ince could also talk a good game of football - no wonder he probs got employed and to be honest - steve kean can talk a good game of football aswell ...saying that talking about the game is much different to what happens on the pitch i actually am really worried about us - and believe we will go down unless we change manager
Blue n White Rover Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I've been very disappointed by our recent run of results, just like all Rovers fans. For me, Kean has to get a minimum of 4 points from his next 2 games. Fulham away will not be easy, nor will be Blackpool at home, especially with their away record. Our defending has been shocking and I for one hope that Formica is up to the task of adding the much needed talent in our poor midfield. These are very worrying times for Rovers, and I for one am starting to lose the faith slowly. Hope I'm wrong.
Backroom DE. Posted February 27, 2011 Backroom Posted February 27, 2011 ince could also talk a good game of football - no wonder he probs got employed and to be honest - steve kean can talk a good game of football aswell ...saying that talking about the game is much different to what happens on the pitch That's not really true, Ince's interviews during his time as our manager were atrocious.
thenodrog Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I wonder if this is the quickest a manager has ever managed to turn the entire support of a team against him. 11 played and performances are so poor that pretty much every fan unanimously wants him out. Good going Steve. daddy of them all ........... Brian Clough managed that feat from day 1 forward and lasted just 44 days as a result.
thenodrog Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 In the crazy chaotic days of mid December, listening to Keano was slightly comforting because he wasn't constantly contradicting himself and sounded fairly reasonable. As Nicko pointed out, he used his initiative, jumped on a plane and got over there and found out what was going on. The guy had spark, and I just hoped against hope this massive miracle might happen. In effect he by-passed the Chairman (and I'd wager he was encouraged if not prompted to do so by his agent), no wonder their relationship plummeted.
LeChuck Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Well you cant say Kean doesnt talk a good game. Maybe a spell in the media after his stint with us ends? Not a chance. He's got the personality of a sprout. He's relatively articulate but so, so dull.
John Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 It seems like some of his answers, comments are rehersed IMO.
Jimmy612 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 That's not really true, Ince's interviews during his time as our manager were atrocious. They were literally cringeworthy if I remember correctly

Mercer Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/7763502.stm Look at him in this interview... "sometimes you just have to laugh about it" .... yeah, hilarious. It's been a long day and to be honest, probably had a tad too much to drink after a friend brought round some splendid reds this evening. However, being a tad mischievous, who would you rather have, Incey or Keano
47er Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Think this LT reader says it all and very eloquently: ppiness, great harwood says... 7:53pm Sat 26 Feb 11 Reasons why this is probably the worst football club takeover ever: 1. The Venky's have no interest in football or our club and are only in it to use a premier league club for self-advertisement purposes. 2. If they wanted big Sam to play better football then they should have given him the cash to buy better players who can play more eye catching football. And apart from that, Sam kept us up, earned us a top half finish and a semi and had us in the top half this season before he was shoe-horned out of Ewood. 3. They employ an absolute nobody who has less experience than Paul Ince did when he came along with his similarly ill fated 'gung-ho' approachwith mediocre players. ('Yes Mrs Desai and co, i will get them playing great football. Yes sir, champions league, of course sir') 4. If we do stay up this season it will be on the back of the points collected under Sam, and WHEN we are in the bottom 3 in october and the owners have to sack this useless 'yes man', they will have to pay out the ludicrous 3 year contract they gave him. What a waste of money. 5. Who on earth is this nobody going to attract in the summer if we are lucky enough to stay up? 6. john Williams? Fantastic chairman with an excellent grasp of every aspect of running a football club and treating it's fans fairly and openly. 7. Steve Kean is an a**e kissing yes man who is using our club to cut his teeth at management. No experience. no man-management. No tactics. No hoper!!! There are dozens more, most of them harsher!

However, being a tad mischievous, who would you rather have, Incey or Keano Kean, probably, but only because I genuinely hate Ince... whereas I just feel contempt for Kean's attempt at managing our club. Ince's interviews used to actually make me angry, but I don't even really listen to Kean's because a large part of me does not care what he has to say.
BPF Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Tomorrow could be interesting, perhaps not. Stay tuned.
Mercer Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Tomorrow could be interesting, perhaps not. Stay tuned. Hey, come on - you have to be a bit more specific than that. It might rain tomorrow, it might not, will I need an umbrella

By the way, you need to learn to entertain your guests better. You have spent most of the night on here!

You have spent most of the night on here! Depends on what time your 'evening' starts ! The girls talk girl talk and the men put the world to rights and Rovers is a part of that! Guests now departed, both well fed and watered !
