I've kept away from this forum for most of the weekend because I can't honestly stand to read all of the comments. Losing the way we have recently is just depressing and reading this forum tends to make things a lot worse!

Steve Kean is in serious trouble. We've gone from playing brilliantly against Liverpool to falling apart completely. A good presser does not make a good manager and a thinking man doesn't always make a good leader. He's not covered himself in anything like glory and he's about as dynamic as a 5 day old lettuce leaf. Nothing is standing out as being in the positive column for Kean and something smells pretty bad about Rovers right now. Both he and Venkys (unless they sack him; their fates are tied) have an absolutely massive task on their hands now. Absolutely massive. Nothing short of a miracle will turn this one around. Sack him now and appoint a proper manager and Venkys might just salvage something from this season. Leave him in post and we continue in freefall and we could well be relegated. We are, literally, relegation material now and have the form and look of a team imploding. If Kean turns it around and we win some crucial matches (Fulham and Blackpool), we might just manage enough to stay up. What happens then is anybody's guess.

I was quite willing to give Keen a chance, and was initially pleasently suprised with the way he started. However the initial boost a change in manager seems to give the team has well and truely worn off. The most worry thing is we seem to be getting worse and worse.

Last year we had a low point when we lost to city in one of the worst performances I have seen from us in a long mlong time. After the match there was, aparently, a bbig flare up in the dressing room. It turned out to be a turning point in our season, we badly need things to come to a head like that now. Something needs to change, I just hope our new owners can see that and take some action.

Agreed. They need to stop pussyfooting around and get themselves sorted. Kean needs to stop babying the players and let them have it. How many goals have we conceded in the past couple of games? It's just plain unacceptable. Most of the players need to be disciplined for their shocking performances, Kean needs to bring out the whip. The players have gone out and basically demanded new, better contracts and the management just rolled over and gave it to them. Fair enough, but now we have to make sure the players earn their contracts and punish them appropriately if they're not.

Simply put, Kean needs to stop playing the teddy bear and start being the grizzly bear.

Has nicko gone into hiding.

He's not the only one that's gone AWOL, I've been all but web bullied by the likes of nicko, Valois, S15, BuckyRover, GAV, Hughesy & Imy9 over my "negativity" in early January and as it turns out my reservations are becoming true (and no that gives me no satisfaction by the way). With the exception of Hughesy and Imy9, the rest haven't posted for a couple of weeks now. These were the guys that were hammering not just me but anyone who dared to say something less than positive on Venky's and Kean (Phillip and Kelbo have also taken stick in the past from the above mentioned members).

Well boys, you gave me pelters, told me I was an idiot for not sharing your view of the best transfer window ever and now the chickens have come to roost, you've flown the coop (puns intended).

As Delia Smith once said, "WHERE ARE YOU!"

Crazy, not for the first time fella, your post totally reflects my thoughts on the whole sorry situation currently, so, great post IMHO...

What I just don't like at the moment (In priority order)

Is the undercurrent that is flowing through the very fabric of our beloved club, it's foul and could get very very smelly.

What is most alarming, is that key players appear to have thrown the towel in, and with the games we have coming up, really important ones, we just can't rely on those clubs being worse than us, because they won't be, and if they want it more, like Mark Hughes will insist on (Like against City) & then Blackpool WILL, and we KNOW they will, the media and our opposition will smell blood, and it will be with more than a whiff of glee as well.

If the owners wake up, or get some decent advice, quickly, then they need to act and act quickly and decisively, however, they don't have a track record for that do they.

I'm a glass half full person, but is it just me? Struggling to find things to be positive about?

p.s. I hope these young lads are a revelation, otherwise, with our midfield, we are just on our arses ....

The best transfer window ever...Ha Ha! I did not understand the back and hand slapping congratulations at the time for an injury prone striker, a journeyman midfielder and two untried and untested kids.... and still don't. I did read many times however that is was a brilliant transfer window for the club, but if that was the case why has this not been reflected in greatly improved performances? Perhaps because we let one of our best players this year leave during that very same window and new acquisitions have contributed diddly squat.

Some people (a minority though) were realistic, read the company accounts, listened to their words and saw the replacing of a permanent manager with a Kentaro man for the window and knew there wouldn't be much money spent.

Others wanted to believe however the early soundbites were a mistranslation, that actually £5m was the minimum spend and got sucked up by all the Ronaldinho talks and how it showed Venky's "intentions". They believed Sam was sacked for his "style of play" and not because he wasn't a Kentaro 'Yes' man and that SK was the next Bill Shankly.

What then happened was the latter group of people were so desperate for their rose-tinted version of events to be true they somehow managed to convince themselves (and many others) on February the 1st that we'd just had a really positive window. According to them, Rochina was the next Villa, Formica the next Kaka.

"Journeyman" come on he's hardly that, OK, he may or may not be what we were hoping for but he is certainly not a journeyman, twelve years at Frankfurt broken by a year at Leverkusan when he was loaned back to Frankfurt, followed by three seasons at Schalke.

For the alleged money we are paying, we could have done better no doubt, in my mind the same goes for RSC. Bad decision by someone.

i too, was rocking to the same tunes as you, and the word i still remember, is that those with concerns, were AGENDA drive . Everytime youd raise a point, bla bla bla you are agenda driven. Absolutely no counter arguing, besides give it time and agenda driven.

Sadly, they were not intelligent enough to decipher our posts, which by the way, were quite easy to do, with a bit of reading comprehension and willingngess to read the text properly. Perhaps they themselves, got caught in their own little agenda driven world, where reasoning doesnt mean ######-e The fact is, that it really was a genuine concern for our club, and not just bull-######, for the fun of it.

i would rather that it would have been them, coming here saying i told you so, sadly its the other way around and no thats not gloating, its sadness.. Just in case you cant decipher that aswell

We were told that Kean would only make signings that improved the team. J.Jones has no experience here, is no better than Nzonzi and will not feature when P.Jones is fit.

Maybe just maybe some posters have other things to do rather than post on here? I've been on holiday for a week so only posted yesterday.

True blue- web bullied? You have your opinion and I have mine but I have not made personal comments about you neither have I forced my opinion on you.

I am now worried about the remainder of the season with Kean in charge, he needs results and fast, if we get less than 3 points in the next two games- Kean should go.

Have we appointed a chairman or are closer to it yet?

Some really good posts on here this morning.

I think the reality of the situation is now beginning to dawn on many others pretty quickly.

Paul added something on another thread this morning on the state of our finances and he estimated our operating loss for 2010/11 to be in the region of £20 million.

Scary times all around.

Rumour has it that Kean is taking questions from Radio Lancs studios tomorrow night-so its a chance to bombard the station with pertinent questions that the likes of Wendy don't want to pursue?

Who is running the club day be day now JW has gone?

When is that person going to speak to the public?

Why is the team underperforming after so many training sessions, contract increases and a week in Dubai?

When is he going to address the oppostion plan to attack our two slow defenders (Sally and Nellie) i.e. More protection.

When is he going to address the lack of positional play in three defenders (Sam,Ollie, Grant)

When is he playing an attacking midfield player at left back over Givet (see Saturday?)

Why has he got holding midfield players picking up the ball from defence who have limited passing ability? (Keif, Grel)

Why are we leaking 4 goals to teams aroiund us?

When are we going to addres the lack of character (which to be fair he inherited) in a team that cannot come back EVER from going a goal down?

Why does he need to watch a video of the Villa match to come up with a new plan?

Why did he sign two players who are not up to speed for this year's run in leaving us in real terms with one out and one and a half in?

Why paick Dunny when the oppostion have pacey midfields?

Is he looking at the transfer window with two bugets yet (one if we survive-the other !!!!!)

I'm not quite sure why anybody is worried about Kean or the Fulham match in view of the following-also taken from the LT of 28/02/11.

Steve Kean has vowed to carry out a forensic study of Saturday's loss at Aston Villa to avoid a repeat of the defensive errors that cost them any hope of a result.

In Rovers' first away game since they were criticised for being too open in a 4-3 loss at Wigan, Kean opted for a change of tactics at Villa Park with a 4-5-1 formation primarily to keep a clean sheet.

..................Kean will anayse the video of the Villa defeat in minute detail to prevent the same mistakes being made.

"We have to rip the game to bits, analyse it inside out and hopefully set a plan that makes sure we nullify Fulham as best we can in our next away game and gets us more chances in front of goal", he said.

"We'll be working hard every single day this week to make sure we put it right against Fulham".

There were also some who were willing to give both ago and see how things panned out. Due to messages I received prior to the takeover I was very concerned about the takeover. Then it happened anyway. Nothing any of us could do about it, so we had to live with it - we still do. So all of us had to see what the owners would do or not do.

They sacked Sam. Timming may have been the issue for many on here, not the sacking. Opinions depended on the result each match, Rovers lost and calls came in for Sam to be sacked. Rovers won and he was a hero. If people on here are honest, that was the general attitude with regards to Sam - though most did not like the football on offer.

They appointed Kean - I always stated I am happy to see what he can or cannot do. early signs were pretty good. I think things started to go from a good start to the worse situation the club has been in since Ince, when Jensen came in. Kean in my view has had his chance and blown it.

I do not think it fair to think people are hidding on here - because some like myself were willing to wait to see how things panned out. Hindsite is wonderfull when things turn out good.

Since the takeover some poster have received all sorts of abuse becaue their opinions differed from others. This made visiting this site sometimes unpleaseant - which has been mentioned on other threads - maybe those people on the end of abuse have not returned - who can blame them. But all in all I believe we all care about the club, the team and want success for both. We just have differing opinions and ways of expressing them.

Dunno when watching the video of the game has become such groundbreaking news!!!
