Tony Parkes !!!!!!!!!! Do me a favour. Is Howard Kendall still available too.

Parkes would do a far better job than Kean. That is all I saying. Not saying he is the answer. But he has more experience than Kean, loves the club to bits and is respected by the players etc. But as a stop gap until the end of the season, can Rovers do worse (apart from keeping Kean)?

Bobby di Matteo would be a good call, but he probably isn't SEM :-(

If Rovers are relegated then Gus Poyet would be my choice. I live not far from Brighton, who have been playing some good football this season. He also did well at Leeds. Brighton will come up this season and also move to their new stadium. But they have hardly had any money for transfers yet are doing well in their division.

As a long time lurker on this board,im astounded that many posters want rid of steve,he may not be mourinho but give the man a chance,we will survive this season.when mr allardyce was sacked it was for reasons not condusive to football, venkys could rue that decision but fortune favours the brave.

Kean and Jensen are completely out of their depth in the English premiership along with the other coach.

Fortune favours the brave certainly, unfortunately Venky's hired a muppet and a puppet rolled into one, that my friend is not being brave but just plain stupidity.

Get Kean back to coaching and bring a qualified experienced man in for the team. Its becoming increasing clear on the pitch that the players arent playing for him either.

... and the biggy here being that that football is all conducive to what happens on the pitch.. which throws this comment out of the window.

But does fortune favour the reckless?

True, but they've got it horribly wrong in hiring Kean and Jensen. Venky's could be good for and with Rovers but at this moment in time its a disaster just waiting to happen plodding along with the sweet talking Steve Kean.

Being pro-Venkys is not necessarily being pro-Kean.

Venkys is the owner of the club I support. I want Venkys to do well so the club will do well. Ditto Kean and Jensen and Anderson.

Because I want the club I support to do well I want the club to benefit from top notch PL management, much as I want it to acquire top notch PL players.

Neither Kean nor Jensen have a history of being top notch managers. Over 14 games they have not proven themselves to be PL top notch managers. As Kean and Jensen are not up to the task based on thier current track record of 28% wins (per wiki) they need to go before the club is in a nose dive that it can't pull out of.

Venkys is the only entity which can replace Kean and Jensen and, perhaps, Anderson. So I support Venkys and am willing to chalk up decisions to date as being motivated by ill-informed good intent. While I am hoping that Venkys improves the management situation, I'm obviously hoping that: 1. I'm wrong and Kean is a football and man management genius; or, 2. He's good enough to get 3 wins or the equivalent before the end of the season. Because my ultimate desire is for the club to do well, not that Kean or Jensen or Anderson get the axe. But I fear the axe is necessary to improve the chances the club does well.

I think under the circumstances you can. Venky's have changed their strategy seemingly every other week which leads some to wonder if they are making it up as they go along. One week we could be signing Ronaldinho for 21mil, a couple of weeks later we can't afford Jermaine Jones's wages. One week we're looking to make Maradona the manager, then we go complete polar opposite and appoint an unknown novice.

If things keep changing, people have every right to change their mind as one week it could be good, and the next it could be bad.

I'm sure when Mike Ashley took over Newcastle and was splashing the cash their fans thought he was fantastic. Ask them what they think now.

I don't think anyone is anti-Venky's as such. I have been critical since they have come in but critical of their naivety, I don't have Venky's as an entity. The amount of faith I have in them being successful isn't the same as how much I want them to be.

And right now, boy do I want them to be successful.
