I guess I am one of those naive individuals that supports the manager. I still do in a way. I hate some of the personal stuff on here, both direct and implied. However I have always said it is almost impossible to go from coach to manager at the same club. And I fear that Kean does not have what it takes to do that and we need a proper manager now.

A couple of decent results and all the vitriol and hysterics of the past week will look rather silly. Such is the fickle face of football.

Potentially anxious times, I admit, but it's all a bit OTT at the moment.

Think we only have 2 games this month. We could potentially lose both with Kean still in charge. Where would we be then?

If you're stood on the touchline watching things crumble and you do nothing, you're out of your depth, wally with brolly style.

We are so close to securing our Premier League future for one more season at least. But we have been for some time now! Plenty of games where we should have taken points have come and gone-----Wigan, Newcastle and so on.

Even if we do scrape a couple of wins and draws and escape the drop, I have no faith in Kean for the future. Its either sack him now or in the summer.

What was it Mrs Desai said "Why wait?" One of the most stupid comments I can imagine but if its good enough for Sam......

Kean had some good fixtures to cement/push us higher up the league, particularly at the start of his reign - additionally, he did not have to sell anyone in January, and was able to bring in players.

Therefore, in my view, he has not done very well at all so far - if you look at the table, of course, he/we still have games to turn it around and can still finish in the top half which would be a good achievement.

Maybe it is the murky clouds behind how he managed to get the job (which colours my views) - but at the moment, he does not inspire me in the slightest, and I am starting to think he does not inspire the players either.

It is not impossible that if Kean stays as manager till the end of the season he will get enough points to keep us up.

However, there is no real evidence to base this on.

I have no idea what the owners will do, but I really am fearful for the future.

Too many dire performances, in an extremely important run (starting with West ham and Stoke at home) have put us in this position.

If we get minimal points from the next 2 games, we could quite feasibly see ourselves in the relegation zone at the start of April with an away game at Arsenal. ... and we all know what we'll get from that.

For me, if we don't get at least a point against Fulham, Kean simply has to go which gives us 2 weeks before the Blackpool game to get someone in to mix it up.

First of all I just want to say that I did not want Sam to be sacked but we are were we are and I am not going to dwell on the past.

I am not even going to judge him on all the back stabbing stuff because it is not just Kean that has been promoted within the club, all of his current back room staff except for Jensen worked under Sam.

If people want to take the morale high ground then maybe everyone should have resigned and maybe the players who were disgusted at Sams sacking shouldn't have signed new contracts a couple of weeks later. The only loyalty in football is from the fans and as a fan I will support the players regardless of how good they are.

As for our current manager I am one of the naive people that still supports Steve Kean and I am desperate for him to succeed.

I believe some people have made discreet enquiries in the event of there being a vacancy but none that anyone on the MB would hope to be front runners.

I have quoted this comment from another thread.

I am not in the know but I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case. I don't think we have an alternative, it is too late on in the season to change the manager again and I don't think any manager out there would want to come in at this stage under the conditions that Kean is working under.

The only people that can turn this mess around is the players on the pitch, they have been there before and they know what to do. Its time for them to roll up there sleeves and get a result.

The players have said on numerous occasions how they like Kean and his style of play. They are excited for the future. Well prove it on the pitch, fight for your manager and keep him in a job.

Prove to the fans that you are worth every penny that you are getting.

I wasn't expecting a lot at Villa Park though it's fair to say even those low expectations were not met in the second half. I appreciated the idea in trying to shore things up at the back with the defensive line up but throwing Keef in there was an over-correction too far. He simply cannot play again.

A point at Fulham is imperative to get some confidence back into the squad. If there isn't an improvement in the set up of the team, the downward trend in my support for him might be irreversible.

I'll be surprised if Venkys have actually given him a 3 year deal.

I suspect they will have given him a deal till the end of the season and then said if he performs, he'll get the job permanently.

But they couldn't announce that, otherwise the players would not have respected him and the Jan trasnfer window would have been a lot worse for us with players demanding to leave.

Just my hypothesis!

If we lose on Saturday then I have no doubt that Kean will get the boot and going of what has already happened this season Venkys won't have a ready made replacement lined up and even if they do I just think it will be too late.

I said on another thread a few days ago that I was sick of reading what was going on at board level the only thing that matters is what happens on the pitch.

I was wrong.

If we go down then it is the people at board level (whoever that is) that will be at fault.

I just hope that Kean proves everyone wrong and we get the points in the bag, then in the summer everyone at the club can reflect on the lucky escape that we had and then make sure it doesn't happen again.

Maybe someone can set up a poll with 2 options; Keep Kean or Sack Kean?

From Kean saying that the whole of the fans are being him I don't know whether anyone realises that is not the case.

Trouble is it is not as simple as sack Kean or not.

If the option was sack Kean and bring in Martin O Neill or Martin Jol than I would say sack him. Would they take the job ? I very much doubt it.

I am just hoping that Kean comes good.

O'Neill or Jol would be brilliant, but just about anyone with Premier League managerial experience would be an improvement over Kean, even down to the likes of Gary Megson.

If Kean can scrape through this season then maybe he has the potential to be a PL manager, but at the moment he's nowhere near and it's a huge gamble to take to hope he'll come good.

Beggars can't be choosers, Hughton is probably the best we could hope for in our current situation.

Also kean now saying on the official site, the new boys are nearing their debuts. Talk about the Raos PR wish he'd make is mind up one way or another.

It's not OTT, it's realism.

the Newcastle game for me was a joke, and Kean has not learned any lessons looking at his comments.

The team is a shambles that will ship at least 3 a game against anyone semi decent.

Kean out, don't bang your bald head on the way.

It's ######## boring, that's what it is.

100s of posts slagging off the manager, the owners, the players, X-Files conspiracies etc.

Some people have too much time on their hands.... and I say that as someone with too much time on their hands.

No need for the jeering at a bald head.

Well I don't have too much time on my hands, far from it hence my minimal chance to look at this board and post recently.

But I have still found the time to say how much of a joke this team is at the moment, and that starts at the top.

The team needs managing, by a manager, not by some imposter and his Danish assistant who he had an arranged marriage with
