It's undeserved. It's a very good finish.

Only question: Why hasn't Emerton put more effort in to show him to the outside? When you know you have a right footed player running at you, even when he has pace, why not just show him outside and either make him put in the cross or have to do something a bit more special to create the space on his right foot?

Cos he's pretty cr@p.

Always tough when you are up against the best part of £30m of strikers.

We do need to address the midfield urgently. I said at the west brom game that they were walking through our midfield at will. We have nobody in there who an put in a tackle and protect the back 4.

Need to put it right urently.

Can see us getting absolutely battered in this one. I wouldn't have been confident of winning with Allardyce in charge, and with Kean in charge you can forget it. 3-0 Sunderland, hopefully no more than that.

Called this result a while ago B)

Not disappointed because I expected nothing. Just glad we didn't get completely ruined.

If we have serious money to spend and we invest it wisely we can take over teams like Sunderland. Considering the money spent on their team they're a very average side.

Injuries and suspensions contributed to our downfall today. No point reading too much into this result, though I'm sure there'll be the usual over-reaction.

we have won as many away games this year, as the whole of last year. but it is games like west ham at home, and stoke at home (who never win away) where we need to be winning. january is massive where we need 3 or 4 players in, else i think we could br dragged into trouble!

Nothing new here. Thanks again Mr. Kean.

Come on we have 8 players out hitting us hard in attack, midfield and defense of what is already a mediocre squad, they have a £15mil striker to bring on from the bench and were very lucky with their first goal.

What did you expect?

Not much to say again. Better effort in the second half. But toothless. Its a bit disheartening when you lose to an average side (at least based on the performance today) by 3 clear goals. This on top of the Stoke defeat by 2 goals is another disappointment. We didnt regularly lose by more than a goal.

Pointless to even talk about the weaknesses cause this is how its got to be.

Kean out, Holloway in

May be more than just us looking at holloway(fulham/villa/rovers/wolves) and they'd pay him fortunes more than pool so he'd go for sure coyle left on a high in jan and its come up roses for him.....whoever got him would make the best signing of the lot in janurary

Sunderland have a decent side, most of which would walk into ours at present. Losing is no great shock, especially given the players available.

Please no silly reactions from the Sam would have got us a point brigade.

What the club need to focus on now is getting at least 2 players in and registered for the Liverpool game on Wednesday. Failure to get someone in would be inept in my view.

Liverpool will be there for the taking if we can add a bit of quality.

Got to say this league is going to go to the wire at both ends. West Ham couldn't buy a point, now they're fifteenth! WBA were dead unlucky today, but in freefall.

Nine if you count Hanley being taken off injured during the game.

We will have Grella back for Liverpool, which is a straight swop for Emerton, Salgado and Samba too, I think we have really missed Sambas height in the last couple of matches.

Don't think anyone should look too far into this result. Massive injury problems. Yes Sunderland had their own problems, but when you can bring a £15m substitute on things aren't all that bad!

I'm afraid games like this and results like this are typical of a side lacking investment. Stoke, Sunderland and West Ham are sides we should have been looking to keep up with in terms of spending power. It shows how far we have fallen. In my eyes its madness if Kean gets any stick for this. As the old saying goes, you can't polish a turd.

The bad thing about today is West Ham and Liverpool gaining some momentum. I'd have loved Wham buried by February and another defeat for Liverpool would have stoked things up with the locals. Just when Hodgson looked like he was on the verge of a tearful breakdown! Never mind.

Chins up lads. Lets get things moving in terms of transfers and try to breath some life into this depleted squad.

Think that goal sums up the main difference between the 2 sides, Gyan 13 million pound player replaced a 10 mill player! 23 million in 2 players, just think how much better our team would be with an extra 23 million worth of players!

Exactly, we didnt have much hope today with the team we had out. I wouldnt judge to much on today's game. Samba and Salgado will be back against Liverpool, which will definitely help, hopefully we can bring someone in on Tuesday as well. Thought Hoilett played really well today, Mame chases everything, really impressed with his work rate, Ollson was ok again, the rest of the team were pretty disapointing, MGP and Dunn giving the ball away far to much. I think the team looked pretty tired, and who could blame them, we are low on numbers, and that is always going to take its toll.

We are in deep trouble already. About 5-6 points between us and the relegation zone, with extra games played. It just takes another defeat or two and to find us in the zone end of January, and then the question is how do we deal with that.

Very disappointing return of 4 points from the last 15.

I assume you mean under Sam? Well that's not true. Off the top of my head I can think of Stoke, Everton, Fulham, Arsenal and Chelsea last season.

We have a mediocre squad, that is decimated, and a heavy fixture list. Be fair.

We're in a delicate situation but sitting 5-6 points above the relegation zone with or without games in hand is pretty much similar to the situation we've been in for nearly all the time with Sam in charge bar the late run at the end of last season.

You also say we're in "deep trouble" but I'd much rather be in our position than in the relegation zone with games in hand.
