B.R.F.C Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 BBC- Sunderland boss Steve Bruce, a close friend of Sam Allardyce who was sacked by Blackburn last month, on his side's 3-0 win over Rovers: "I would like to dedicate the win ot Sam. I know he won't like us beating his former team, but after what has happened to him over the past couple of weeks I am delighted and I will have a few glasses of wine for him tonight." What an absolute tosser...really. I was raging after his gurning about injuries all week only for them to have all 3 strikers fit and now this. He should mind his own bloody business.
Clitherover Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Very disappointing that we've turned into a laughing stock with Bruce saying what he did. I wouldn't take much notice of it, everyone knows Steve Bruce is a bellend.
Exiled_Rover Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 The next winning lottery numbers are 05 07 10 16 19 36 Bonus 42 If you throw enough mud at the wall...
Clitherover Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 If you throw enough mud at the wall... I think tomatoes and jim mk 2 in stocks would be much more appealing
cn174 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Why is Sam being talked about? Kean did the best with what he had- decimated squad, it's no exaggeration to say that an entire first 11 could be created with the injured players and they would be stronger than the team we fielded today. Oh well onwards and upwards. It is an exaggeration: Robbo, Samba, Jones, Grella, Andrews, Nzonzi, Roberts, not a full team at all. That said we had one of the worst benches I've seen in a while. The main thing about the game is that we barely looked like scoring, I havent seen the stats but ai cant remember Gordon have to make a save. Also our movement is abysmal, whoever is on the ball rarely has any good options for a pass. It was one of them days where the ball just wasnt falling for us, but when it did we did little with it. Oh well, bring on liverpool.
Amo Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 It is an exaggeration: Robbo, Samba, Jones, Grella, Andrews, Nzonzi, Roberts, not a full team at all. Kalinic, Salgado. Not far off!
imy9 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Plus Hanley off at half time thats ten. Edit- Phillip didn't mean it sound rude I was shocked that a pl manager would say that, highly unprofessional as there was a fellow manager in the other dug out.
den Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Why is Sam being talked about? Steve Kean might be very grateful for those 21 points we got under Allardyce imy.
John Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Why is Sam being talked about? Steve Bruce was talking about him after today's game.
booth Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 To be fair I don't remember Sam having this sort of injury trouble, nor do I recall him ever adressing our attacking midfield problem. There was the swine flu epidemic of last season that he had to deal with, when we got thumped 5-0 by Chelsea and 6-2 by Arsenal.
darwenblueswearehere Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 The next winning lottery numbers are 05 07 10 16 19 36 Bonus 42 You almost sound pleased.
imy9 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Steve Kean might be very grateful for those 21 points we got under Allardyce imy. To be fair we all are, reasons for his firing have been dissected but it had happened, Kean will struggle for the rest of the season if we don't play players and injuries continue, the only light is that by Feb we should have a number of people back and signings to help.
Miker Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 You can't expect players to perform well when they are played out of position and in crazy formations. 4-3-3? Against Sunderland? With those players? That's bonkers. Why not play Emerton at right back and give Linganzi or Goulon a shot from the off in midfield? If Emerton leaves for the Asian cup we're without any experienced player to play the defensive midfield role. Might as well give one of our recently signed players a go now. Surely worth more of a risk than playing an attacking 4-3-3 formation away from home. People also seem to be forgetting our injury problems following the sacking of Ince. We had to do a LOT of improvisation back then.
John Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Kean confident we won't get involved in a relegation battle. Blackburn manager Steve Kean says his team did not play badly despite the 3-0 defeat by Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. They are close friends - Sunderland manager Steve Bruce says he is "absolutely delighted" his side beat Blackburn 3-0 and dedicates it to former Rovers boss Sam Allardyce, calling the decision to sack him "quite unbelievable".

Surely worth more of a risk than playing an attacking 4-3-3 formation away from home. It's still early days for Kean, but his faith in our midfield is terrifying. Pedersen, Emerton & Dunn are just hopeless in the midfield, give away possession like there's no tomorrow and can't tackle for toffee. I know people say 'if Linganzi was so good why doesn't he play' etc etc. But I don't care. Give him a shot, he couldn't do any worse atm.
LeChuck Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Blackburn manager Steve Kean says his team did not play badly despite the 3-0 defeat by Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. That is very worrying. We look like we're going to concede several goals every game under him, and he doesn't seem to be aware it's a great problem. Under Allardyce, teams hated playing against us. I bet they can't wait now. I appreciate what Kean is trying to do in changing our style, but that can't be at the expense of a solid defence.
Backroom Tom Posted January 1, 2011 Backroom Posted January 1, 2011 That's the main thing that worries me Topman, Dunn in particular has been awful in the 3 games before today (not seen todays game to comment) but he keeps getting picked regardless, it's crazy. At present Dunn can't tackle, can't run and can barely pass I imagine Linganzi could at least do one of those things.
FourLaneBlue Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Kean confident we won't get involved in a relegation battle. Blackburn manager Steve Kean says his team did not play badly despite the 3-0 defeat by Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. "Brett Emerton" did us a favour by going to right-back" A favour...after his form as a Central Midfielder, I think we need more from him than just a "favour"?!?

After all the clubs he's walked out on for a 'better offer' he really should take a breath before spouting about football ethics.
Balwer Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 would prefer to see Bert move back permanently to right back now, it's clear his days in the midfield are past him, and certainly in the centre he never really had them. He's also still a decent RB and would provide good cover behind Salgado, who shouldn't have to play a full season in the Premier League at his age. As much talent as he has his legs are rapidly going...
Gav Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 at the expense of a solid defence. Have you been to ewood this season LeChuck? our defence, be it under Allardyce or Kean, has looked anything but solid.
LeChuck Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Have you been to ewood this season LeChuck? our defence, be it under Allardyce or Kean, has looked anything but solid. Against the top teams we have looked poor defensively, but generally teams didn't get many chances against us. Nowhere near as many as we're giving out at the moment.
tony gale's mic Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Under Sam at Ewood we conceded 6 goals in 8 games this season.
