Chimbonda was shown the exit door by Sam, SK finished what Sam started. He is a waste of space and people have forgotten his last match in a Rovers shirt at OT where he was a joke.

But that doesn't suit PhilipL's agenda does it? Rewriting recent history in the hope it'll be accepted as fact...

:o:wstu:

That almost leaves me speechless! You were in the top 10 most vociferous anti-Allardyce brigade yet here you are outlining the problems that he was having to cope daily with within just three weeks of celebrating his sacking!

Here on second thoughts have another. :wstu:

Top 10, eh? That's quite an honour for someone who's NEVER called for Sam to be sacked.

So what fact has been twisted?

Chimbonda is a right back?

We had no specialist right back available yesterday?

In most games, he has played for us Chimbonda has bee an OK full back with a few absolute stinkers?

Grant Hanley was played out of position against Sunderland?

Steve Kean told Chimbonda he has to move on and thereby put him out of consideration?

That by so doing, Rovers were effectively ten players down yesterday?

Over to you oh twisting one.

really badly missing jones in midfield imo, as pants as we were today we still created some good chances particularly from set pieces however by that logic sunderland could have really put 5 or 6 past us if bent didnt have his clown shoes on. Its unfortunate we didnt work their keeper at all, steve bruce could have put his wife inbetween the sticks

Well I seem to recall that Stevie Keano didn't select him in the starting 11 for the one game he was available.

Yes, I seem to remember that as well. I also remember Kean saying he thought Jones would benefit from a rest and that was why he didn't start him.

Management speak for "you're dropped son!"

SKs petty attempt to distance himself from SA

as there where plenty ahead of Jones in the queue to be dropped surely

Surely it's more like Kean being left to 'try' and make a silk purse out of the sows ear squad Sam left us with?

That is a ridiculous statement! Sam can be blamed for a lot of things, but the paucity of the squad is definitely NOT one of them.

Nobody has forgotten that mauling. It is brought up repeatedly, tediously and incessantly by the likes of you whenever talk of Sam comes up.

It was an awful display at Man U, but then again so were those of the other 9 outfield players.

Perhaps what is being forgotten is that he was being played out of position in that match, like he has been in the majority of his games for Rovers.

Chimbonda is an experienced Premiership right-back. Hanley is none of those three things.

It is stupidity to freeze ANYBODY out while we are paying them big wages and we have such an injury crisis.

And that, more than anything else, is the joke.

Agreed.

Although I doubt his presence in any of our recent losses would have changed the result.

Thats exactly what we should do, defend from the front and attack right from the back!

Just for a microsecond or so I thought you were saying what I had been thinking for several minutes prior; namely re-appointing Dalglish and giving him full control of the player recruitment and management. Which is exactly what Jack did and look at the results it brought.

So if the new owners are really serious about using the Rovers brand to raise their own profile worldwide, then the quickest and best way to do it is to emulate Jack Walker and appoint Kenny D again. It would be probably cheaper and absolutely guaranteed more effective than some of the other daft ideas being bandied around like Maradona or Beckham.

C'mon Fife KMD is a proven quitter! He's never proved himself without a massive cheque book behind him. Please note also that 5 million rupees goes nowhere in football these days.

The best choice of past manager's would be Mark Hughes by a mile. He'd probably use Kentaro's database of foreign wannabees to excellent effect.

Or he's an 18 year old kid that Allardyce had played far too much.

I think this is true. And Kean should not have put him in, even as a sub. Jones needed rest.

Then again, hindsight is 20/20 so I'll hold most of my ire. Even though even I, with my non-expert credentials, felt Jones needed a rest for at least a couple of games before his injury.

KMD was the best spotter of talent in football, look at the ones he bought for virtually nothing and they all sold on for profit!!

Alan Wright, Tim Sherwood and Graham Le Saux all for £500,000 each all sold for over £5,000,000 each which would be around £15/£20,000,000 nowadays!!

Wright was sold for £1m, and Sherwood left for £3-4m.

Even so, great porofits, Sutton bought for £5,000,000 sold for £12,000,000 - Shearer £3,000,000 sold for £15,000,000 etc etc.

Oh no doubt, but when you said Wright left for £5m I knew something wasn't right.

EDIT: No pun intended.
