Hughesy Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Mame Biram Diouf – Anyone else of the opinion we should sign him up?? I certainly do! 5 or 6 goals this season already (not quite sure) – he has shown his finishing ability with the lovely finish at Bolton, he has quite abit of raw pace & he seems pretty strong too. He usually seems up for the fight, and does put a good shift in too. At only 23, with more experience he should only get better KEANO SIGN HIM UP KEANO, KEANO SIGN HIM UP Also would it also free us up to get an extra premier league player in on loan??

Amo Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I don't know. He does have his bright sparks but he's also immensely frustrating in the final third with his decision-making. He could be worth a shot for the right money. If Fergie tries to screw us over, I'd kindly point out that if he's so highly-rated why's he wanna flog him in the first place.

I agree - But I think that would get better with time. Dont forget he had to play out wide under Sam most of the time. As for Fergie - its more important that we get the lad on side....its not like he will get 1st team football ahead of Rooney, Berba, Hernandez or Macheda yet anyway so if we can convince him that this is the right club then thats half the battle won...He seems happy anyway! I would however like to see us do this in January, otherwise I fear the 2nd half of the season will push his price up after more goals.

From what I've seen Welbeck looks the better prospect.

From what I've seen Welbeck looks the better prospect. Sign them both then?! Wellbeck being English will cost more - based on that rule alone. I think Mame needs time to prove it - Wellbeck has been given the chance week in, week out.
Backroom Tom Posted December 29, 2010 Backroom Posted December 29, 2010 I'd like him here full time if the price was right he seems to be enjoyin it here and looked a real rover after his goal yesterday

MeanGreenMachine Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Scum paid about 7million for him, i wouldnt pay even half of that.
SamTheShrew Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 I think he really came into his own yesterday. I said to my old man when Niko got sent off that he now had a massive job to do, and he did it heroically. He worked his socks off for the cause, could have scored again when Carson saved it, and made yet another opportunity out of nothing which forced Tamas to cynically chop him down. Seems to be a fair amount of raw talent there which could easily be nurtured at a club like ours. And until yesterday, I did not realise he had such a turn of pace
Torgeir Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Scum paid about 7million for him, i wouldnt pay even half of that. Not sure it was that high, do you have a reliable source quoting that figure? I think he really came into his own yesterday. And until yesterday, I did not realise he had such a turn of pace He has a lot of potential, physically he's very gifted. He does squander a few chances but can create them on his own as well with his pace. I hope we'll sign him permanently but not sure how much ManU would be asking - £3-4m perhaps?
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted December 29, 2010 Moderation Lead Posted December 29, 2010 I'd be looking at £3.5 million max. for him, no more! Loads of potential though!
Tim Southampton Rover Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 He reminds me of Paulo Wanchope. By that I mean he doesn't have a clue what he's going to be doing next. Very raw player but his pace is potentially lethal.....if he gets taught how to use it properly.
Exiled_Rover Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Didn't Ferguson say he's the best athlete he's ever seen on a football field? I can see where he's coming from.
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Think he would be a good signing, agree with Hughesy, sign him now - if he has a good second half of the season his price will soar or Fergie will keep him. Don't know what he cost, undisclosed fee apparently.
Hughesy Posted December 29, 2010 Author Posted December 29, 2010 Mame thanks the fans KEANO SIGN HIM UP...KEANO...KEANO... SIGN HIM UP
davulsukur Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 He's a young lad with bags of potential. A change in tactics and formation could do him good. As long as Man Utd are reasonable with the fee sign him up.
S15 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 5 or 6 goals this season already (not quite sure) – Nah, he's hit the post twice and the crossbar once, so in reality he's scored 23 this season. KEANO, SIGN HIM UP...
T4E Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 He's got 6 - Arsenal, Bolton, West Brom and the hattrick against Norwich.
S15 Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 He's got 6 - Arsenal, Bolton, West Brom and the hattrick against Norwich. Don't you remember Hughesy's goal counting method for Kalinic? Triple points for hitting the woodwork.
