I saw John Bond at the 1990 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (sic) and made my way over to him and said:

"Mr Bond, can I shake your hand?"

"Yes of course, nice to meet you" says JB

"Yes, I'd just like to give you my sincere thanks for completely ###### Burnley up"

He stopped smiling then, never knew why!

Happy days, when Burnley thought they were big time but ended up losing shed loads on Daly, Reeves, Bond jnr etc

Come on boys run the full list of no marks past us again.....

If you were ever to meet him again, remind him of the time when he was manager of, I think Bournemouth, when Ted MacDougall (sp?)was their star player and they came to play at Ewood for 2 consecutive Easter fixtures. Ask him if John MacNamee, who couldn't run etc was a good centre half.

Suppose you'd know all about 3rd rate managers having just appointed one ;-)

Interesting that initially all the claret fans were really very polite to the fans of the message board on which they were posting to find out up dates on their club.

Now that is posted in total ignorance, not too clever here.

Hes just won us three out of the last four games and in one them provided the best football we've seen from the super blue and whites in along time.

Howe met Palace on Thursday and then headed for talks with Burnley...and goes and posts Chumbawumba! as some in joke...

Ahh ok, thanks..

Nicko, do you really think that Allardyce could financially agree with Burnley? I think one thing that BFC have shown, even recently, is that they will make decent-level financial commitments but only if there is a good chance of return - for example a signing like Fletcher - but have always been wary about wage levels. I would guess that Sam would be viewed as an expensive option with the size of team (not that I think his approach is the wrong one, far from it) so West Ham & M.E. aside, do you think there's the ability for the two to agree terms at some point?

If Big sam goes to Burnley, firstly he will get them up this season and secondly, they COULD finish higher than us next season.

Sam is a true football genius and I honestly believe that we will mourn his departure in the months to come.

You could pay Sam a decent wage PLUS a £1 million promotion bonus.

It may work out as a better deal for him than waiting and waiting for some desperate Premier League team.

Anyway...Eddie Howe tells the Bournemouth players in a few minutes where he is going.
