claretinpeace Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 That sky is beautiful. There's some talented photographers on here.
Guest linganzi Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 How come so many posts about third rate managers battling for the burnley job on here? Pointless
92er Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I saw John Bond at the 1990 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (sic) and made my way over to him and said: "Mr Bond, can I shake your hand?" "Yes of course, nice to meet you" says JB "Yes, I'd just like to give you my sincere thanks for completely ###### Burnley up" He stopped smiling then, never knew why! Happy days, when Burnley thought they were big time but ended up losing shed loads on Daly, Reeves, Bond jnr etc Come on boys run the full list of no marks past us again..... If you were ever to meet him again, remind him of the time when he was manager of, I think Bournemouth, when Ted MacDougall (sp?)was their star player and they came to play at Ewood for 2 consecutive Easter fixtures. Ask him if John MacNamee, who couldn't run etc was a good centre half.
claretinpeace Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Suppose you'd know all about 3rd rate managers having just appointed one ;-)
sambo Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Burnley fans on here trying to get cocky.... Makes me laugh, I'd rather have Diouf than be a Dingle.
92er Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Suppose you'd know all about 3rd rate managers having just appointed one ;-) Interesting that initially all the claret fans were really very polite to the fans of the message board on which they were posting to find out up dates on their club.
Guest linganzi Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Suppose you'd know all about 3rd rate managers having just appointed one ;-) Oh get you. Like to see you find someone with a desai approved vision like keano
JAL Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Suppose you'd know all about 3rd rate managers having just appointed one ;-) Now that is posted in total ignorance, not too clever here. Hes just won us three out of the last four games and in one them provided the best football we've seen from the super blue and whites in along time.
claretinpeace Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Would you, seriously ? ? I'd be devastated if we ever even tried to sign him. Nasty piece of work. So all us clarets are expected to take the stick but not give abit back. Just abit of banter.
BPF Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Not getting my hopes up yet but it looks like I might be owing a certain someone a large drink...
USABlue Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 The guy who cannot bear to write Owen Coyles name! Or handle being reminded of the Wombles
FourLaneBlue Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Suppose you'd know all about 3rd rate managers having just appointed one ;-) ..and you're here in peace?
Drissa_Diallos_Head Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Howe met Palace on Thursday and then headed for talks with Burnley...and goes and posts Chumbawumba! as some in joke... Ahh ok, thanks.. Nicko, do you really think that Allardyce could financially agree with Burnley? I think one thing that BFC have shown, even recently, is that they will make decent-level financial commitments but only if there is a good chance of return - for example a signing like Fletcher - but have always been wary about wage levels. I would guess that Sam would be viewed as an expensive option with the size of team (not that I think his approach is the wrong one, far from it) so West Ham & M.E. aside, do you think there's the ability for the two to agree terms at some point?
claretinpeace Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 As I said, just a bit of banter. If howe turns us down today god knows who were going to end up with. Probably maradonna.......I reckon he's got his eye on another job though ;-)
Mercer Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 If Big sam goes to Burnley, firstly he will get them up this season and secondly, they COULD finish higher than us next season. Sam is a true football genius and I honestly believe that we will mourn his departure in the months to come.

You could pay Sam a decent wage PLUS a £1 million promotion bonus. It may work out as a better deal for him than waiting and waiting for some desperate Premier League team. Anyway...Eddie Howe tells the Bournemouth players in a few minutes where he is going.
deftangel Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Howe met Palace on Thursday and then headed for talks with Burnley...and goes and posts Chumbawumba! as some in joke... Nicko, you mean this account right? http://twitter.com/#!/eddiehowe77 I wouldn't be so sure that is legit, unless you've had that verified by other means.

It is. And the fact Howe just went to 25 to 1 ON for Palace suggests he will be going there too... Oh dear.
