The reason he wont is that if the news tomorrow is that Ronnie is on his way he can claim that he meant the wary sceptiscm(sp) will change to positive belief.

If the news is that Ronnie has decided to go to Brazil, or that Samba is off(or something else negative) he will claim that this is what he was referring to.

Not completely correct. There has been times he has heard / learnt things about the club before others.

If Phil had any knowledge he could provide enough information without giving the game away so that when a story broke we could see he knew what it was about. But we can see that he is bulling because of the open-endedness of the statements he makes.
