jim mk2 Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Yet he was supposedly messiah Sam's main target......... Same applies

Tom 1 Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 Tom, I thought Warnock was superb for us and would have him back in a shot. Was it you who said he'd been terrible for Villa? Warnock was really good for us for a large part of last season I wouldn't deny that but he is so prone to giving away free kicks in stupid areas (see game at Ewood between us this season as prime example of his regular stupidity). Since about February time he's been diabolical for us, lots of rumours about being unhappy and having personal issues so I don't know. The general concencus amongst Villa fans is to give him a final chance in coming weeks to see if we can get him back up to speed but many like me want to cut our losses. I hear we're buying a new left back this window anyway. Adam would be a good signing. Given his injury record, Roque would be a joke. Roque hasn't been injured for a while though he just never plays at City, as a loan deal I think it's a great idea, so much better than Benjani and Roberts. Building a good little side if these signings come off. We're apparently loaning Kyle Walker until the end of the season so I really have no idea what's going on cash wise down our end..
Roverall Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Besides the three Brazilian clubs, PSG, Ronaldinho's first club in European football, a club in Turkey and one from Spain also would be interested. It was even announced that Blackburn, England, that at the end of last year was bought by an Indian refrigerator, would also be interested in the playmaker, but the club denied. Don't you just love Google translator?
Exiled_Rover Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 RSC on loan is fine, as no risk involved if it goes tits up, just depends on how much City want us to contribute towards his salary. Would still like another ball winning midfielder in as well as RSC and Adam, Ronnie obviously, and a young right back. ___________Robbo Salgado Samba Nelsen Ollson Hoilett Nzonzi Adam MGP __________Ronnie _______________RSC Kalinic simply has to play. He's one of our best players.
BlueMonday Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Why are we reading about bids on the table. Twitter posts revealing transfer activity. These are supposed to be serious business men. The Venky boys are scaring the holy sh!t out of me
Seggie Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Nicko, Is the Santa deal with a view to a permenant deal? If so it would make perfect sense. We don't want to get him fit and scoring again for him to either go back to City or elsewhere. If he remains a sicknote then we can say forget it and move on
Valois Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I must admit RSC career stats are not that great - 302 games, 85 goals. Although his forst season Blackburn he was brilliant, 43 games, 23 goals. A loan deal would be fine as no risk involved, Kali has shown if he gets good service he can score, MB Diouf will work his socks off no matter what.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Maybe it's because the Mail and Sun have reporters who know this is a ludicrous story that should be treated with contempt. You're starting to sound almost as ridiculous as Phillipl these days.
tony gale's mic Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Not that fussed about RSC - his golden season with us was definitely a flash in the pan. Loan deal would be okay though. Adam is a quality player but not sure Blackpool will want to sell him? Still, money talks...
hawkiiz Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 At this very moment I see no reason to be mad about the dealings at Rovers. If Ronnie arrives for the price mentioned, it is as much as we gave for Kalinic... Ronnie will provide shirt sales world wide, sponsor deals etc. Probably higher crowds aswell as a few places higher on the table (no matter what people say, Rovers will finish higher in the table if they only get Ronnie this window what they would with getting nobody at all). On top of that we are trying to get RSC (and looking very much like it is happening) plus Adam seems to be a realistic one. That's just january 3rd. Plenty of time to close the deals and get the 2 or 3 other players we have been talking about. Enjoy it while you can folks! Who knows what Mrs. D. has to say when you wake up!
Valois Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Kalinic simply has to play. He's one of our best players. Yeah either him or RSC upfront.could have something like this - - - - -- Robbo Salgado Samba Nelsen Olsson ------Adam Nzonzi MGP ====RSC -------------Roniie ------------Kali
RevidgeBlue Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Adam is a quality player but not sure Blackpool will want to sell him? Still, money talks... If I was Blackpool I either wouldn't sell him or I'd absolutely nail our wotsits to the floor on the fee and ask about 20m.** He is their inspiration and it would be quite literally their Premiership status on the line. At the end of the day though from our point of view it will hopefully hinge on what we can offer him salary wise as opposed to the Seasiders. ** Edit: Maybe they can't if he's got one of those blasted release clauses. Still we've been on the receiving end often enough.
modes98 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 One last thing... The media continue their hatred. Well it is true though. Mr Rao denied it, for then Mrs Desai to confirm it. As I said before the best thing they could do for the fans is to put all PR communications through a single person, probably Mrs Desai as she doesn't seem to talk rubbish 24/7, just when making pledges to fans. Roque would be a good move on the assumption that we have someone to set him. If we had a good winger again or even maybe Ronnie, then he would do it again. Kalinic is progressing very well though.
Valois Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Sun are going with this again. 5million plus davis for samba, have to say we should be asking for at least double that, and I doubt Samba would want to leave us to go to villa any how. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3328843/Aston-Villa-set-for-Christopher-Samba-bid.html Suns take on the Ronnie saga. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3329134/Blackburn-confirm-bid-for-Ronaldinho.html
roverwhelmed Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Don't think so. Hate to say it but Rovers supporters are not a passionate lot and not in the same league as the likes of Newcastle, Leeds or even Burnley. You only need to look at our poor away followings. Newcastle? Are you for real? I'm bored to tears every time I go to St James Park by them

We don't want to get him fit and scoring again for him to either go back to City or elsewhere. If he remains a sicknote then we can say forget it and move on Then we must agree a fee before the loan move. Hard one as we will bump up his price if he does well...
BRFC1995 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 It'll be almost certain Adam has clauses going from rangers to a little club they'll be all sorts of sell on fees and releases as he only cost half a million iirc. Sure he must have seen Blackpool as a stepping stone club when he signed.
Hughesy Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Whats Adams release close? Its been suggested its £4.6m
RevidgeBlue Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Sun are going with this again. 5million plus davis for samba, have to say we should be asking for at least double that, and I doubt Samba would want to leave us to go to villa any how. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3328843/Aston-Villa-set-for-Christopher-Samba-bid.html Does Samba still want to leave? In any event Villa hardly seem to be going places under Houllier. Not keen on Davies at all. Wouldn't particularly want him if the offer was a swap + 15m.
Ben-2000 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Don't think so. Hate to say it but Rovers supporters are not a passionate lot and not in the same league as the likes of Newcastle, Leeds or even Burnley. You only need to look at our poor away followings. Burnley? Did you not see their poor following at Reading today... did you go to the 2 games against them last season when they were as quiet as church mice!
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Yeah either him or RSC upfront.could have something like this - - - - -- Robbo Salgado Samba Nelsen Olsson ------Adam Nzonzi MGP ====RSC -------------Roniie ------------Kali Absolutely no pace in that team...and that's one of our major problems.
Valois Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Don't think so. Hate to say it but Rovers supporters are not a passionate lot and not in the same league as the likes of Newcastle, Leeds or even Burnley. You only need to look at our poor away followings. Why even compare our support to the likes of leeds and newcastle?? No relivance, we have ok support for what is a club in a small town, and a star man like Ronnie and a few other decent players and of course it will encourage more of our fans to attend games. It will certainly help improve a global fanbase, which can generate serious amounts of cash. Have to say there a lot of so called fans on this board looking to take cheap swipes at the club any chance they get. We love you Ronnie we do, we love you Ronnie we do, we love you Ronnie we do,ohhhhhhhhhh Ronnie we love you. Ronnie Ronnie Ronnie
Stylish kid in the Riot Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Charlie Adam will be a brilliant signing, excellent passer who comes and gets the balls off the full backs and has a good range of passing. Plus good set piece taker. I think he'd leave if an offer comes in and id be amazed if 3 million wouldnt be enough to get him. As for Roque, i would like him back as he has been fit now for quite a while but just isnt getting the games. I do agree with Seggie though and would like to know if its with a view to a permanent deal with a price agreed. Would hate to see him come in, do well and then City start asking for £12million or something daft. Would like to see us in for a right winger as well. Nicko, are we looking at SWP, Bentley or even Kranjar?
