Looks alright to me that, bring in a proper left back and a new right back in the summer and we'll be set for a couple of years with the youngsters that we have coming through.

Been to leeds a few times this year in the championship and i can say our support is far better, very similar in numbers but far better vocally!

... and how large is Leeds as a city compare to Blackburn? What a daft post.

I'm a rovers fan living in leeds an if I had a quid for everytime I've had to explain this to a Leeds fan and they just say 'we have more fans' I could buy Ronaldinho myself

To be perfectly honest, they have summed up the twists in the story pretty well.

No it doesn't, the situation is only a "farce" or a "fiasco" or "ludicrous"if you don't want a player like Ronaldinho ending up at somewhere like Ewood Park.

Whether he comes or not, it appears strenuous efforts have been made to land him over a lengthy period. What the owners tell the media while negotiatiions are still ongoing is really neither here nor there. As someone else pointed out if John Williams denied interest in a player that would be canny keeping the cards close to the chest or "smoke and mirrors."

But the only way Williams would be contradicting himself 24 hours later is if we had signed the player.

The situation IS a ludicrous fiasco in terms of how it is being handled, no question. Is it ludicrous to think we could get him? No, not if the money is there. It is then just unlikely. But Venky's are just making themselves look daft with the way they're handling this.

Come on, you know it was your accent that made the diference lol

It has diferent expressions but it is still easy to understand

*chuckle* my ex is brazilian, their version of portuguese is like a foreign person trying too understand the english a Glaswegian chap is speaking... most english people can just about understand it, but foreign english speakers are stuffed.

Exactly, hence the Sun and the Mail articles being completely unfair and OTT imo.

I don't think the Venky's are necessarily making themselves daft over this. If we land him then I doubt anyone will really give two hoots about what was or wasn't said.

If we don't land him, then I agree it doesn't reflect particularly well in light of all the commotion created but even the Rao's fiercest critics must admit it's an extremely long shot trying to entice Ronaldinho to Ewood Park.

What matters is not so much whether we land him but will they land someone of similar stature if we don't?.

I'm not sure Roque is what we need without Bentley whipping in those balls from the right. I wouldn't have the latter back either. Much as I love the guy, I think it's a bit risky. We need someone who can perform now till the end of the season without an undue risk of adding to our horrific injury list.

Adam must be the priority target as he would improve the team no end.

Why is it such a given he'll leave Blackpool with the position they are in though. Just the money bonus thing?

I'm still very doubtful that this will happen but the sheer fact we are even discussing Ronaldinho is insane, this isn't a Vieri or Fowler it's one of the world greats and only 30.

It wont happen, it can't happen but just imagine.

I have no qualms saying I would be straight down to Ewood buying another shirt with his name on, so would many.

I think you missed the distinction I was making, I probably wasn't clear enough. The handling is ludicrous. Most of the press (some exceptions, however) seem to be portraying the handling as farcical, and it is. Will this matter at a later time if we sign Ronaldinho? Well, probably not very much. But for the time being it is still fair to report the way the owners have managed this as a fiasco. Spilling the news on their facebook/twitter, then issuing a denial, then issuing a confirmation is a very, very bad PR approach. Now what they need to do is sign a Ronaldinho or someone of his ilk, as I think we both agree, to repair that damage.

I still think it is very strong to call it "ludicrous".

Maybe I wouldn't have leaked news of an offer on Facebook/Twitter myself but if a genuine offer had in fact already been made it's hardly a hanging offence.

If the money wasn't there and they publically claimed they'd made an offer, that would indeed be "ludicrous"

When it was subsequently denied, perhaps it didn't look likely he'd come. Perhaps something then happened we don't know about behind the scenes making the move more possible encouraging them to make the announcement on SSN.

Bottom line is the National media don't want Ronaldinho at little old Blackburn Rovers which is hardly a surprise on past coverage but a bit strange on one level as you would have thought they'd be salivating at the prospect of him playing in the Premier League, whoever it was with.

Does it not seem surreal that we are even having this discussion?

Its Ronaldiniho?? We are Blackburn Rovers? Its Crazy.

but

We are Blackburn Rovers a team with more history relevent to the creation of the game with regards to the game of football than 99.9% of the clubs in the world. So why not start a revoloution, but I urge caution, the club has to be here in 100 years time so I really hope Venkys have the funds to back this move into exciting times.

.

I think that is a key point - the bid has been tabled and the terms and project put before his agent. That would have garnered some sort of spontaneous response - and Venky's announcing the bid to SSN this evening would certainly suggest that it wasn't a case of "Ronaldinho would never countenance joining Blackburn Rovers".

Interesting times.

Exactly, IF we managed to sign him expect 90% of the question at his press conference to be "Why ddn't you sign for X [insert any of the old 'big four'/London based/Newcastle clubs]"

Not sure how relevant it is.. but anyone heard of OECD you might of seen it on the news recently, when talking world finance this is the biggest thing going. Venkys have talked about going worldwide, brazil is key too the new union of southern nations.

We know that they are from quotes (in Ms Desai) looking at south america, from what I hear from my ex the EPL is pretty popular out there... best way too think of it is Brazil (in finance deal with India) football (brazils favourite sport), EPL team (top of the brazil football charts), Brazilian footballer (Robbie) = good way into brazilian market...

Just for a laugh here is an article from last year.. Venkys worth 1bil

Still dont like my team being used as a marketing tool.. but what the hell..

Quite so, It's crazy, it's ludicrous, it's silly, it's not going to happen.

So have a cup of cocoa, go to bed and dream instead about Steve Kean and his master plan for us to escape relegation.

Do they serve humble pie in your nursing home? Just in case the unthinkable happens, it'd go nicely with your cocoa.

Did you even read the article? It seems from your response you did not.

The part they referred to as being as a "farce" was how first a Rao brother let it slip on his Twitter/Facebook, before coming out and denying it afterwards. After all that, another member of the family came out and said we had bid. It was that process they said was a farce and it is not an unfair label to give it. They did not mention the bid for Ronaldinho being farce nor the possibility of his being at Rovers during any point of that article.

I can only presume you got the wrong end of the stick when replying to my post.
