philipl Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Timing of Sam's sacking was bonkers. Three year contract for Steve Kean is bonkers. Venkatesh saying no Ronaldinho then Mrs D saying Ronaldinho yes is bonkers. Confirming that Ronaldinho is an owners' target and not Steve Kean's target is bonkers. Owners announcing Adam and Duff before deals are done is bonkers. (Has Duff/Fulham even been approached?) Totally sidelining John Williams is bonkers. .... How on earth a football club is going to emerge from all this is not clear. I can see a rich playboy's toy and an agent running the show though. And by the way the $1bn valuation of VH is a subjective guess at a paper valuation- they have a tiny percentage of that in cash and football burns cash. Yes it could be an exciting fairground ride but remember that on the big dipper, the first thrill after the wind up is a mighty heady long plunge.

bluebruce Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Return of Duff too What does it say about Duff? Are they quoting Desai on it, or is it their "sources"? Is it saying a deal is very likely, or just an intention?
Wing Wizard Windy Miller Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Hang on a minute We are trying to bring in Ronnie, Duff & Santa Cruz, Going to be a busy injury room. I hope this is a short term fix. What about bringing in talented youngsters yada yada yada...?
Italian Rover Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Sorry if mentioned before. Latest from Italy is Ronnie is very much looking to the World Cup - in Brasil 2014. Positive on the one hand as it'll keep him focussed - negative in that he'd be better off playing in Brasil.
doctorryan Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 So.... A midfield of: Duff MGP Ronaldinho Adam Beckham Can you imagine? Jack is up there somewhere laughing his ass off.
hawkiiz Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 they were doing so good, and then give Kean 3 years???
Iceman Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 3 year contract for Keane, WTF I have to say, im getting rather annoyed at all this crap now. They sack an experienced manager for somebody who has lost 2 games out of 4 played. To top it all, the football has been worse under Kean, than what it was under Allardyce and that is scary

Backroom DE. Posted January 4, 2011 Backroom Posted January 4, 2011 Duff? Long past his best and injury prone, no thanks. We've got Olsson, MGP and EH Diouf to play on the left anyway, why in the world would we be looking to bring in another left sided midfielder??

john.leigh Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 saw this on the LT Anuradha Desai, Blackburn says... 11:41pm Mon 3 Jan 11 Namaste (Greetings), Blackburn fans I would just like to say thank you for the support you have given us recently. I was watching the West Bromwich game with my husband on the TV and was really happy in my heart about how much you gave us all support in the club. We really hope you can keep doing this as it makes me, my brothers, the manager and staff very confident in our jobs. Now, we have made an offer for Mr Assis because Mr Allardyce was saying we want an impact player and Mr Kean also wanted one. Mr Assis is one of the biggest names in the game. We have already offered him a 2 and a half year deal and he has indicated to us that he would be willing to play if we assure him some things like more signings. We have told him our vision for the club and hope he will join us next week. We are also monitoring the David Beckham situation. Please carry on to get behind us, we need your support to make our club come in the top 6. Thanksyou, Anuradha Desai I offer no opinion...

Lurid Coat Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Even though his best years are behind him, I actually believe that Duff would be an improvement on what we have - save perhaps for Olsson in top form. I might be nostalgic, but I'd love to see Duff in the blue and white halves again.

Yes it could be an exciting fairground ride but remember that on the big dipper, the first thrill after the wind up is a mighty heady long plunge. I can see very little evidence of an agent running the show at the moment. Such a thing would surely produce at least one decision driven by knowledge of the game of football and a PR disaster of a different kind at least. Agree however, that bonkers is an apt description of the way their decision making process is coming across at present. Whether you agree with some of those decisions or not, they are not appearing rationally thought out whenever they open their mouths. One can only assume the 3 year contract for Kean is a reaction to it being a little awkward bringing in players on the basis that they don't know who will be in charge in 6 months time. A situation, that is of course of their own making. I don't think it'll matter too much in the grand scheme of things, if they want rid in the summer they'll just have to pay more. Duff is a nice to have after the priority positions have been filled. Nothing more. We have Olsson and Pedersen who can do a job there at the minute but desperately lacking in other areas.
bluebruce Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Unless I'm mistaken, Duff has shown his versatility at Fulham (and at Newcastle I think?) by playing at full back at times. Perhaps this is where he is wanted. Or why he is wanted- for his general versatility at a time when we are having injury and suspension troubles.

alexanders Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 How you Can sau That the football under Kran hasnt been better than under sam is beyond me. I dont agere with everkene rubbishing giving kean å new 3 yr deal either. It will motivate him ånd probably the players as well.

Miker Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 How you Can sau That the football under Kran hasnt been better than under sam is beyond me. We had some absolutely fantastic games under Sam, even his last game in charge against Bolton was leaps and bounds better than what we've had on offer under Kean. So far 100% of Kean's reign has given us rubbish football as far as I'm concerned. West Brom was better than the other 3 but only because of the spirit and togetherness shown by the players and the brilliant support given to them by the travelling fans. If he can improve, that's fine by me, but let's not pretend it's been anything less than rubbish so far.
budha Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Have you been drinking? The Norwegians.. always drinking. Using predictive writing in mobile phones should be outlawed.

philipl Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I don't want Rovers to get a transfer ban, points deduction and a fine but believe me, we are being run by Kentaro. Our boy in Brazil or Venky's boy in Brazil is Kentaro's boy in Brazil- that is what agents should do for a club. But the rest. If you want evidence, take a long hard look at everything that has come out of the Rao family so far and ask yourself, if JW and the board are not running Rovers (they are not), the first team coach now 3 year manager is a proud Kentaro client and the Raos are clearly totally out of their depth, then who is running the show?
