47er Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 The only thing blindingly obvious is that things are very different to how they have been before. There is nothing predictable, the Ronaldinho thing sounds like it might just come off from what I've heard. The thing that matters most looks likely to stay the same unfortunately-------nobody to boss mid-field. A ball-winner with some terrier in him. If one or more isn't signed soon we'll have to rely on winning 6-5.

When it finally comes out the club you knew will be defunct.
CrazyIvan Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Timing of Sam's sacking was bonkers. Three year contract for Steve Kean is bonkers. Venkatesh saying no Ronaldinho then Mrs D saying Ronaldinho yes is bonkers. Confirming that Ronaldinho is an owners' target and not Steve Kean's target is bonkers. Owners announcing Adam and Duff before deals are done is bonkers. (Has Duff/Fulham even been approached?) Totally sidelining John Williams is bonkers. .... How on earth a football club is going to emerge from all this is not clear. I can see a rich playboy's toy and an agent running the show though. And by the way the $1bn valuation of VH is a subjective guess at a paper valuation- they have a tiny percentage of that in cash and football burns cash. Yes it could be an exciting fairground ride but remember that on the big dipper, the first thrill after the wind up is a mighty heady long plunge. I agree with everything above the ...
S15 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I will stress that in my opinion based on information received which I have good reason to know to be true, I understand there is interference in the managing of Blackburn Rovers. This includes one very specific incident. I presume Sir Alex Ferguson who said what he did will be receiving a legal letter as well. My information is true. There is no interference, and the allegiance has been greatly overstated.
jonv Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Pretty much sums it up. Hardly, last time Big Sam had a few injuries we lost 7-1 away to United. Far to soon to be drawing comparisons between the 2. 3 years contract or 1 year they mean nothing at the end of the day.
Wild Irish Rover Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 The reason you're so bitter is that this has given 95% of fans a huge lift, at a time YOU think we should be miserable. Grow up, let it be, and see what happens. What utter tosh. The majority of fans I've talked to are feeling very very nervous about the way the Raos are making a complete balls up of running their shiny new toy.
fishmesiter Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 What the **** is going on! I've been one of the ones that have been saying give the new regieme a chance but I'm starting to wonder if they really do know what each other are up to at any one time. First we are in for buck tooth, then we have an official denial from one of the brothers, then we have a statement from Mrs. D saying we have made an offer. These people need to appoint one person (JW?) to deal with the press or just shut up.

The majority of fans I've talked to are feeling very very nervous about the way the Raos are making a complete balls up of running their shiny new toy. Oh right. Well 95% of the fans I've spoke to think it's far fetched, but the very thought of seeing Ronaldinho in a Rovers shirt excites them greatly. Everybody is nervous about the way they are running the club, but this window will ease a lot of nerves if the correct players are brought in. So far, the noises have been the right ones player wise, making these noises reality is the big test. If they pull these names off, a lot of the communication discrepancies will be forgiven.
Roberto Policano Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Luca Toni has been told he can leave Genoa if he finds the right club.

Torgeir Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Are we revealing all our targets now? Did she specifically mention Duff by the way? I think we need to be careful naming players before we're in advanced negotiations with their club and them, but that might be the case. Very different from our previous regime I must say, at least it's good to have some spending power. Makes your job easier too, nicko

modes98 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Please be careful not to imply anything that could get us sued. That applies to everyone else as well. If you want evidence, take a long hard look at everything that has come out of the Rao family so far and ask yourself, if JW and the board are not running Rovers (they are not), the first team coach now 3 year manager is a proud Kentaro client and the Raos are clearly totally out of their depth, then who is running the show? If you look at the running of the club at the moment it seems to point to nobody with any football knowledge running it, thus the Raos. Remember Duff's little note in his little hand-writing on the front page of the LET just after he signed for Chelsea? He said he'd like to come back one day. I think he still owns a house in Hurst Green doesn't he? So not far-fetched. I spoke to him, quite drunk, in Monte Carlo and said to him he should come back. To which he laughed, so I wouldn't hold your breath. I would love him back though, one of my favourite all time Rovers players.
fishmesiter Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 So you have been ok with everything up until now - now that they try very hard to sign Ronnie, you give them hell? You are making no sense. No they're making no sense in the information that is coming out. I'm merely saying that they need to appoint one contact and channel any infor through them. If they are going all out for it - don't put it on facebook/twitter in the first place, then deny it and then confirm it. It sends all sorts of confused messages out and makes us look like fools. As for things that have gone before - I wasn't overly happy with the way they were conducted but if they have a vision then they are entitled to excercise it as they see fit. However see note above about the way they express this vision to the rest of the world

philipl Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Here are Sir Alex Ferguson's commentsMy link "You’ve got that issue at Blackburn of an agent involved and deciding the future of the club, Jerome Anderson [of the SEM Group], he couldn’t pick his nose. "It’s baffling and it’s a serious threat to how clubs get run and how they conduct themselves.”

It's the same old record. I can see your point but there is no clear evidence of anything like what you have implied or indeed what Fergie has said...

I can see your point but there is no clear evidence of anything like what you have implied or indeed what Fergie has said... Haven't you always got to take most things that SAF says with a pinch of salt? His son was a failed agent who the BBC rumbled and he didn't have the guts or the evidence to sue them, so he ignores them instead, which now looks pure childish, he should rise above that. Everyone knows he is Allerdyce's buddy, most of the time I think this worked very much against us. Especially when we then capitulate at OT.... I think there are a lot of unexplained things going on that we are just not used to seeing at our club, but if you speak to other PL club supporters, or even Championship ones, they've had this as BAU for years.

hawkiiz Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Desai talking to BBC Lancs saying we are offering Ronnie 6.2m euros the first year and 8-ish million euros the second and third year. So we are discussing with Ronnie, but have not cracked a deal with Milan?
thenodrog Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Did you even read the article? It seems from your response you did not. The part they referred to as being as a "farce" was how first a Rao brother let it slip on his Twitter/Facebook, before coming out and denying it afterwards. After all that, another member of the family came out and said we had bid. It was that process they said was a farce and it is not an unfair label to give it. They did not mention the bid for Ronaldinho being farce nor the possibility of his being at Rovers during any point of that article. I can only presume you got the wrong end of the stick when replying to my post. I wonder if anyone managed to get any money on at the bookies 1st time around? I'd imagine the odds would be quite good early doors.
magicalmortensleftpeg Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 It's called realism. Why get excited over something that is not going to happen ? The time to get excited is when we make some signings that are realistic targets, such as Charlie Adam. And supporters still don't get it over the club's plight. Kean appears to me to be the reincarnation of Paul Ince. You can put your head in the sand if you wish but others can see what is blindingly obvious. Urgh... Why get excited? Why not?? I dont think anyone on here has gone and bought a Ronaldinho shirt yet.. And i doubt many people on here actually think that he will sign, but I for one am at least enjoying the ambition being shown and the idea that it might come off. I know it probably wont happen, but if we took your approach then we'd never get excited about any major signing. I do agree that the signings of Charlie Adam etc are more important, undoubtedly, but to be linked with Ronaldinho and by the looks of things with a degree of substance, is a nice change even if/when it falls down.
Craigman Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 According to Cryer on twitter, Kean has said the deal for Ronaldinho can only be positive, but believes the deal is getting further away every day.
benhben Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 This is ridiculous. £20m would be far better spent strengthening all areas of the pitch rather than signing one player who may not have the legs he used to. Sounds like John Williams and Steve Kean have had no say in this whatsoever.

Sounds like John Williams and Steve Kean have had no say in this whatsoever. Difference is Ronnie will sell shirts and get us money world wide. He will not effectively cost £20million. Remember when Beckham went to Milan on loan, even with the fees and salary, Milan EARNED money by having him in the squad. What do you think Ronnie would do for Rovers? Be another Andrews?
