jonv Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Haha. I can't get my head around all of this. Ronaldinho. In my clubs colours. I'll be buying a home and away shirt with his name on. Perhaps training gear too. I'll stop short of the tattoo, mind. "Please support your team, we need your support" Some people on this board need to understand whether they like it or not, the club is moving forward, in the fashion that we're witnessing. It is also paramount we all show our support to the players, whoever comes and whoever stays. Yes voice your opinion if you don't agree with something, but not so much that performances on the pitch become effected by it.

Amo Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Busy, busy thread. Can someone please summarize who we've been linked with? Ronaldinho. Charlie Adam. Damien Duff. ...and some Spanish striker? I can't believe people are still debating the signing of Ronaldinho. It would be an unprecedented signing in the history of our club, put bums on seats and put us on the road to becoming a top club again. In for a penny, in for a pound.
bluebruce Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Tables. Has table of the Brazilian deals.yours is the best. I think that article might be a little confused though, Roberto. It says we are offering him the equivalent of £1.3 million per month. £15.6 million per year...I don't think so.
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Are we releasing all info about all our targets now? This is silly season!
BuckyRover Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Check out this video on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxruV8yzZn0&feature=youtube_gdata_player This was from August this season. He he gone downhill that fast, because in this game he looked awesome. I can't see it happening but if it did it would be superb
Craigman Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Nicko, there was nothing in the Mirror about the Ronaldinho deal, how it would work. Can you shed any light ?
nicko Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I can't go into what the manager said at his daily presser - got a story to write on it tomorrow and that should be embargoed. However he did say on Sky some things that will put straight some of the earlier events. CONTRACT...he has not been offered one...more interested in doing deals. RONNIE...being cagey on that one...more on that later. BECKHAM...if he wants to come he will be offered a deal. SIGNINGS...hopes for two or three by weekend and possibly five in all. Under grilling from the dailies a lot more came out. Seems like some people have had their noses put out of joint by not doing their work properly on Ronaldinho. A few agendas around too. Hopefully - as usual - the Mirror will be where you get the fullest story.
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Also, if we are signing a Spanish striker, does that rule out Roque? A bit confusing. Maybe SEM/Kentaro think they are running more than they actually are, and the owners are doing their own thing at the same time. I get a distinct feeling that the mixed messages are coming out of two different parties (SEM/Kentaro & the club with its owners, scouting, etc...).
BRFCS Content Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 Please can people stick to transfer talk only in this thread. If you want to talk about the suggestions that Steve Kean may be about to be given an extended contract then please use Steve Kean Takes Charge thread. We are keen to avoid this thread getting side tracked as has happened in previous years.
nicko Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Nicko, there was nothing in the Mirror about the Ronaldinho deal, how it would work. Can you shed any light ? There was a chunk after the Roque story in the print edition. To paraphrase...Rovers would be expecting a leap in gates [possibly 10,000 a time] and extra TV matches plus a tour of Brazil and India to promote the club and their new signing. So the deal would not pay for itself, but there would be massive advantages financially. Got to say - having discussed this with people at other clubs - that Rovers is only Prem team that would see THAT big a leap in gates. The top ones are nearly full and the smaller ones would not have the funds for the initial gamble. Interesting. The beack or Blackburn is the real theme here.
Mozzer Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 surely david beckham would be more interested in going tottenham then us ..

I get a distinct feeling that the mixed messages are coming out of two different parties (SEM/Kentaro & the club with its owners, scouting, etc...). The Spanish lad is a kid - there are two or three of them on a separate list. He is the other Barca kid besides Romeu who is sadly injured. It would not affect Roque. The Venky's/Kentaro confusion is mainly in the heads of the conspiracy theorists. The links between the pair are great, but they are hardly likely to coincide on every decision. The Raos and Mrs D have different ideas themselves. Kentaro - despite what some people sreech about Jerome Anderson all of the time - is made up of a lot of people.
AHoyle90 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Think our midfield problem would be aided massively if we managed to get Ronaldinho and Damien Duff.
Majiball Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Busy, busy thread. To summarise: We are in for Gordon, he's tempted by the EPL and Roberto has confirmed we are the biggest bidders. Mrs D is hopeful. We've agreed on money 7m year 1 then 8.5M for the next 2, I do here there is a stumbling bloke over the dental plan but this is to be expected with Ronnie. Adam is apparently available for 4.6M as he has a release clause, I have no idea what stage its at? Holloway apparently has his badgers patrolling the training pitches at Bleackpool watching out with venom for our representative. RSC all sorted haggling over wages %, City have agreed to throw in his dodgy knee for free. Duff, nobody no about it yet but we are trying to bring him home and will get round to contacting Fulham at some point. Rochina, once well thought of striker who is now struggling really. Mrs D gave a presser today she confirmed Ronaldinho and says Kentaro do as she says not the other way round. She realises how much money it will cost to make top 4 in a few years time. When enquiries were made about Jerome she said that yes he is family but every family has a pet and we only let him out on his leash. Apparently we are doing away with Northcote catering next year and will be serving only Curry's. Mrs D has seen 2 live cricket matches and never been to a live game of football, but she will be over here shortly to take in a game. She is surrounded by football experts her brother is know as the 'indian hansen' over there so its all good, she also has exceptional listening powers and plans to help fight crime in the blackburn area using her superpower for good. Tris wrote a good post in the 'dawn thread' that points out why we are angry rovers. Hope that helps.
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Nicko your tone on the Ronnie thing with the agendas, etc gives the hint that it is in fact becoming less and less likely. Is that the case? Would Ruben Rochina be a signing or loan?
nicko Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 surely david beckham would be more interested in going tottenham then us .. Beckham said he would only come back to Man U...until they knocked him back. Spurs would look a perfect fit. But if you don't ask you don't get. I think Beckham is second on the list to Ronaldinho. Did I really just write that? Need another coffee.
Taggart Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 surely david beckham would be more interested in going tottenham then us .. Yep, you would think so. Interestingly though, maybe the guarantee of 1st team football every game may be something that he wouldn`t get at Spurs ? also, were Ronny and Beckham at milan at the same time per chance, not sure if they know each other or were team mates. Nicko - has your view on the Ronny chance of signign increased or decreased after what you have heard ?

No chance. possibly there would be an initial spike in interest, but for the rest of the season and beyond... highly doubtful.
nicko Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Nicko your tone on the Ronnie thing with the agendas, etc gives the hint that it is in fact becoming less and less likely. Is that the case? Would Ruben Rochina be a signing or loan? I am not giving anything away on my latest Ronaldinho tale until later...but it comes down to one thing. The agendas are among the media who misread the story on Sunday and have to cover their asses after not taking it seriously. Rochina? No idea either way. Romeu was a loan for the rest of the season. Rochina may be a longer-term deal.
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Silvio Berlusconi has said the following on Ronnie. "I am sorry he has left, he is the greatest player in the world when it comes to the speed of thinking and execution, but it was his choice to return to Brazil."
nicko Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Nicko - has your view on the Ronny chance of signign increased or decreased after what you have heard ? It's down to one thing. If he wants money he comes to Rovers, if he fancies the easy life he goes to Brazil - or the MLS. If he is in semi-retirement, you don't want him anyway. I just hope the answer is quick.
Majiball Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Hopefully - as usual - the Mirror will be where you get the fullest story. Which paper do I read to get the most truthful version of events then?
daveoftherovers Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Thanks for the update Nicko, as always, appreciated. So I take it that the spanish striker referred to is the young lad from Barca then? I liked what I heard from our chair person, and I can see the revenue lure, especially in India, if we could pull off a major signing. Any news on who will land this week? Looking at our sick list, we need them!!! Personally, I'd like to see Adam's land, every time I see the guy, he looks better, and seems to make useful time on the ball, like most others can't, and he can pick a pass (Just like Tugay used to do for us.) Well, unlike the last couple of years, this window isn't going to be boring is it !!!??? Onwards and upwards

That would mean an average of 33000-34000! Positive spin if ever there was one. We cannot even get 31000 in. Is Ewood going to adopt Indian railways methods and sit any excess on the stand rooves?
