Yes, you don't want us to sign Ronaldinho, we're all in cloud cuckoo land etc etc. Why do you keep coming back to this thread to post pointless guff?
Ricky Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Jim can you stop trolling on this thread now. You have made your stance clear and you are now just repeating the same thing over and over. Can you knock it off now please.
hawkiiz Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Can someone make a "Ronaldinho wont happen" thread, so all the pessimists can stay there instead of here?
RevidgeBlue Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Current average given as almost 24000 and we haven't had our usual top attractions of Lpool and MU here yet. Scope therefore for 7000 at the very best. Not to be sniffed at for sure but never let the facts get in the way of a good story eh? See above. Perhaps we're going to try the revolutionary option of attempting to fill Ewood with home fans instead of always taking the easier option of packing the Darwen End with away fans. Something which has always been a hobby horse of mine. Ideally there shouldn't be more than 2000 of the Manc barstewards tucked away up in the top corner of the ground.
nicko Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Nicko, I have a question. By publicizing our targets does that mean we are already on course to sign them or is it a course of premature talking? I mean Venkys twitter supposedly said we are talking to sign Adam. Are we actually speaking to Blackpool? And Mrs Desai mentions Duff. Have we begun talking to Fulham or is it a case of telling the world who is on our list before we got the ball rolling? I think Mrs D has a bit to learn about football protocol. She is too honest. The Adam thing is correct because he is on the list. Have they spoken to Blackpool yet? Not so sure. But they will do. There has been an inquiry about Duff. But I will leave the details for the 11 o'clocker.
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 If anyone can increase the capacity then someone like Ronaldinho or Beckham will, otherwise the only way would be by winning trophies, which is something we may be a fair bit away from. However, its more likely 2000-3000 extra fans come in at the start, which in itself is something to build on.

Amo Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Good shout Ricky - what is trolling by BTW ? It simply means posting something for the purpose of provoking others.
nicko Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Descending to immature insult as usual when you are backed into a corner Alan? Rest assured your type would never get past the door at my club. Your last two gates were in the 20-21,000 region. Hence the SCOPE for 'up to 10,000' remark. Keep up. If your season fizzled out the gates would be lucky to get to 20,000. Times are hard. If you get the Ronnie boy in they will be bursting to get in. Think positive for once.
John Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Where are they getting the money from for all this??
Valois Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Was Duff at Fulham when Steve Kean was there? I'm not sure he is what we need at this present moment, we have enough cover for the left wing. Maybe he is the back up plan if the Ronnie deal goes tits up
nicko Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Which paper do I read to get the most truthful version of events then? The Mirror was the only paper to get the Ronaldinho story right on Monday and make the proper calls and treat it with the respect it deserves. Maybe because the daft old hack who did it recalls sticking his neck out on the Lineker tale a few years ago despite the disbelief of the tired, weary and toss opposition.
RovertheHill Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I have no idea how Venkys are a successful company, who on earth goes to the press and says how much they are offering potential staff, that is just stupid. She clearly has NO idea, Sadly it can only be a matter of time till everything caves in Erm, have you ever looked at a job site? They all have salaries on them. However the point is that running an Indian company is completely different to a football club and you are right - they clearly have little clue about the latter. Still, makes a nice change to be shopping at Harrods rather than scratching around the bargain bucket at Aldi...
Torgeir Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Duff is still quality, not as exciting as he used to be but still very solid. Seems to be less injured as well. I do think we could find better elsewhere though, especially if we're trying for the likes of Ronaldinho.
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Doesnt Duff play less out wide than before? I could swear Ive seen him more central over the course of last season.

I kind of agree with some of what you say but you will insist on exaggerating to suit your spin. You must stick to the facts The average attendance by 365 is fact up to 3/1/11. As for the last two it was -8 Degrees and the dreaded pre Christmas fixture v a team at the bottom from London. Admin.... will you please allow nicko the edit button full time to stop his silly intransigent attitude. You must know by now that he'll never ever admit to being wrong.
Gav Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Duff is still quality, not as exciting as he used to be but still very solid. Seems to be less injured as well. I do think we could find better elsewhere though, especially if we're trying for the likes of Ronaldinho. Damien Duff has been past his sell by date for many seasons now and I wouldn’t waste the wages on him to be honest. He was a great player for us, but that was coached out of him at Chelsea, leave him alone, not worth the wages. Many of us can't see the Ronaldinho bid going through, but lets hope that money is put aside for a good esablished central midfield player.

Full marks to that daft old hack too for detecting the seriousness of Jacks intent! Unfortunately for the same daft old hack Linekar didn't turn up either.
John Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 So hard to keep up with this thread, especially when in work - have we been linked with a central midfield ball winner yet?

Admin, will you please accompany Gordon's posts with an 'Irony' button, so we can all have a good click when he comes out with crackers like this?

I can't see Allardyce would have wanted to blow his budget on him (too much like another Benny imo) but to have him given as an 'extra' he'd have been the best man around to get the maximum out of him.
Majiball Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Can you confirm or deny that she will be teaming up with Thinking Man? Believed to be the crime-fighting alter ego of Steve Kean. Listening Lady I believe is considering teaming up with thinking man the plan is to have listening lady eaves drop in on all the criminals planning sessions and then thinking man will dream up the plan to catch them. Currently there is debate over how they will execute these daredevil like raids, but it is believed they may team up with the chuckle brothers who will endeavour to apprehend the criminals. If only I had photoshop. T'was a joke dear fellow not an insinuation on your character. As most are I'm grateful for your Ronnie updates just ensure you pass through the right info @ 11 so we don't all shot the messenger.
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I think its been said that Ronnie is NOT coming out of our budget. Our budget is there for the other players like Roque, Adam, Duff, etc...This is a marquee signing (their words).
