Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Adam seems an honest, hardworking traditional British type of midfielder. Is he anything more than that? Does he have the technique and talent to match?
michaelthomas Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I may be in the minority but I dont think Nzonzi was all that last season. He was solid but nothing more. His performances were blown out of proportion a bit I think. Has decent potential but after missing 4 months now, he will definitely need to regain form and fitness. Perhaps, but in the position he played that's what was required of him. His job wasn't to score 10/15 a season, but instead to break up play and move the ball on to the more creative players (!) - something I think he did fairly well.
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 B No, it is C. He hasnt played yet for the B team.
deryck guyler's spoon Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I haven't watched Adam all that much but every time I see him he's holding his hand up and apologising to his team mates for some gaffe or other that he has committed. To be fair he seems to be a good passer of the ball who might have been a top player a decade or two back. He's not the quickest by the looks of things though hence the top clubs aren't sniffing around.
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I've watched him a few times, he's not a world beater but he's better than anyone we have at the moment.
Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted January 4, 2011 Moderation Lead Posted January 4, 2011 I haven't watched Adam all that much but every time I see him he's holding his hand up and apologising to his team mates for some gaffe or other that he has committed. I agree Adam has been alarmingly over-rated. Decent passer of the ball, and the only good footballer in a VERY average Blackpool team.
S15 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Adam seems an honest, hardworking traditional British type of midfielder. Is he anything more than that? Does he have the technique and talent to match? Absolutely, he has the ability to ping short and long balls around in a similar way to Tugay. In my opinion he strikes a better dead ball than MGP too.
jim mk2 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 So, up to now... We've made a bid for Ronaldinho - who most think wont be coming. We're talking to RSC who hasn't played or been fit since he left Ewood Park. We're thinking about making a bid for Adam [who some, like me, don't think is actually that great]. We're looking at a young lad who's in Braca's "C" team. Is this right then? If so, will someone let me know when we've appointed a manager and brought in a few players who can get us out of this relegation battle. Mattyblue Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I haven't watched Adam all that much but every time I see him he's holding his hand up and apologising to his team mates for some gaffe or other that he has committed. Indeed, ask the fans and pundits who watch Blackpool who pulls the strings for that side and a big majority will say David Vaughan.
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Perhaps, but in the position he played that's what was required of him. His job wasn't to score 10/15 a season, but instead to break up play and move the ball on to the more creative players (!) - something I think he did fairly well. Im saying I dont think he is the BEST at that role. He gives the ball away too much for someone who breaks up play. He is too lazy on the ball, thinking he has more time and talent to distribute it. Those are the negatives.

S15 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Be careful or you'll get a warning from a moderator or accused of trolling. Positive posts only allowed. This confirms that you are a bit thick after all. Nobody minds constructive caution, or a coherent argument as to why Ronaldinho wouldn't be a good signing. All you've done is insult people and claim it's all a publicity stunt, despite in most peoples eyes the evidence pointing to this being a very real attempt to sign the player.
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Maybe what Jim is trying to say is the move is doomed to fail so we should be concentrating on the real "bread and butter" of our window. It may be very likely that he is right in the thinking however, I think moves are being made for our own targets and this is something on the side.
Hughesy Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 No, it is C. He hasnt played yet for the B team. Sure about that?? linky link
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 So our team could look like this? Robbo Salgado--Samba--Nelsen--Givet Beckham/E.H.Diouf--Adam--Pedersen--Duff Ronaldinho Santa Cruz/Kalinic ...
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Sure about that?? linky link Yes I am sure. Spoke to a huge season ticket holder friend of mine from the club. His words, "doesnt regularly play for the B team yet, and is considered too young". He isnt on the list of Barcelona players waiting to breakthrough in next 1-2 seasons either. Its more like 3-5 seasons with him. Rochina is a mainstay of the C team and looking to become a regular squad member of the B team anytime now. Next batch in order of potential Thiago, Fontas (Pique clone), Romeu, Baltra (Pique clone II), Jonathan dos Santos & Sergio Roberto.
Blackpool_Rover Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I agree Adam has been alarmingly over-rated. Decent passer of the ball, and the only good footballer in a VERY average Blackpool team. Only good player in a VERY average team....are you joking? An average team doesn't sit in the top half of the table all season in the best league in the world and their best player is David Vaughan not Charlie Adam. They also have 2 good goalkeepers a promising winger in Philips and a good defender in Baptiste.
cruz Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 You can only laugh at how pedantic people are being regarding this 10,000 figure. RONALDINHO WOULD ADD A FAIR FEW THOUSAND TO OUR ATTENDANCE, AND CERTAINLY COULD POTENTIALLY GET CLOSE TO 10,000 MORE ROVERS FANS INTO THE GROUND EVERY WEEK! Exactly. We usually get around 19-21K HOME fans through the gates with the rest made up from away fans. How good would it be to fill the ground and only have to give the away fans a 1.5k half top tier?
bluebruce Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 So our team could look like this? Robbo Salgado--Samba--Nelsen--Givet Beckham/E.H.Diouf--Adam--Pedersen--Duff Ronaldinho Santa Cruz/Kalinic ... I don't see there being ANY chance that we would sign both Beckham AND Ronaldinho. Quite confident it is one or the other (or neither).
den Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Den doesn't have targets, just put-downs. Den doesn't go around drooling like a schoolgirl because we're "talking" to an ex-great. Den knows were in deep trouble.

Whilst I agree with you being narked at your team being undersold, as they were, you haven't sat in the top half of the table all season yet. The season has rather a long time to go and you could still be relegated (I don't see it though personally).
S15 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Den doesn't go around drooling like a schoolgirl because we're "talking" to an ex-great. Den knows were in deep trouble. Den look at the blokes career, it's not as if he's in some deep lull. He's 30, and yet to have a bad season. Injury has resulted in him passing the torch to Robinho this season, but injuries have been few and far between in his career. His figures are readily available, read them and tell us there not impressive; Every season.
M-K Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 The Guardian? Pass me my green tea... Those liberal fakes could not find their ass in the dark. Aren't you the guy regularly ridiculed on Football365.com?
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 The situation is concerning but not yet serious. There is a long way to go. If it comes down to it, I think we would win 5 of our remaining games if required. Stop fretting 'like a schoolgirl'.
