Yes, every chance. As I understand it he will be arriving on a big golden chariot pulled by twelve flying white horses. The driver will be Owen Coyle, who has agreed to be Keen's assistant. Davies will be sat alongside Ronaldinho, Beckham, Messi, Torres and Tevez. There are all going to buy adjoining terraced houses in Darwen.

Bloody hell lads and lasses! I've been reading this thread over the last couple of days in increasing wonder. Everybody laughs when Newcastle United screw up their club and supporters yet again, of course we do. But I now see a large number of supposedly hard-nosed Rovers fans (not all, it must be said) on here blindly ignoring the Venky's terminal ineptitude in football club governance.

THIS WHOLE SORRY MESS WILL END IN TEARS.

Shouting "lal la la" at the top of your voices will not make it better. There's too many posts containing the phrase "Let's hope that..." on here for it to be healthy.

And before anyone says it - many Bolton fans would be reacting in the same stupid way if we were in your current unfortunate position.

I've tried to let you down gently - but it's not easy.

That is a big difference in what you WANT to happen and what WILL happen. You sound like all those pundits now backing us to go down, not because they think we will but because their mate Sam was sacked and that's what they want to happen.

They're only a laughing stock if he doesn't come, or he comes and it all goes totally pear-shaped. If he does come and even some of what they hope for comes true then it's their detractors who will be the laughing stock.

You've missed my point, if he is considering us and sees the media coverage of our owners like in today's papers it may well be the straw that could break the deal.

I think you'll find that the vast majority of Rovers fans are not ignoring Venky's failings at all. We're all well aware of how foolish we look to the media but we're just optimistic that Venky's will spend money on decent players, which it sounds like they're trying to do.

Venky's have done a poor job so far, mainly due to shambolic PR. This January they have a chance to redeem themselves. Im giving them until February 1st to prove that they can deliver.

They've been here for little over a month. They'll get a chance from me to pump money in and refresh the team. Lets see what happens..

There was a second post from "Anuradha Desai, Blackburn" in the LT saying that Rovers are not a selling club, that players are to be secured on new long term contracts and that we don't want peple leaving to join Arsenal or Chelsea.

No way of knowing whether it is genuine.

The official ground capacity is over 31,000 however it is impossible to reach this figure as the club don't sell certain seats for safety reasons (eg front row or 2 of Darwen End Upper, also seats are missing where the fence is in the Darwen End and also TV camera locations in some area's) We can however, as proven in the past, get just over 30k into Ewood.

31k will never, and has never happened due to the reasons above... if crowds were to increase if Ronnie comes then the unreserved section in the Darwen End will further reduce capacity as 10% of seats have to be left empty in an unreserved area. So realistic capacity crowds will be around 29,500 unless an away club has the full Darwen End in which case we could get 30k.

Of course all this though is an 'if only' at the moment.

No, but isn't Jerome Anderson a right tit?

Ahh so if you give then a long term contract they won't want to join Arsenal or Chelsea, they won't even demand a move....

If only we knew this a few years ago, we'd have a pretty decent team by now

Just got a nice bet on Rocky to sign for Rovers at 4-1 on Sky Bet. Two minutes later he's 9/4 !!!!!!!

If he comes on loan, does that count as "signing" in the betting world?

And which lucky Blackburn woman is being given the responsibility to give birth to these 7000 non-existent fans? Do you think there are really 7000 people in Blackburn that think "I would love to go to Ewood but not unless they sign a former world player of the year, until that happens I aint going".

Do these 7000 extra fans even exist? You can't tap into a market that doesn't exist

Hows that debt going at the amazingly well run Bolton ?

If theres any Lancashire club on the brink of the precipice its Bolton.

Rev we know you have it in for the Trust and the LT.

Not particularly - they were spectacularly good owners for a short period after Jack died. Unfortunately imo that all fizzled out around the time Duff was sold.

Understandable in many ways, if I wasn't interested in football I wouldn't want to squander my family fortune on it either. However the Trustees were in a slightly different position of being in charge of a pot of money intended for the businesses and having to follow Jack's wishes.

The appointment of assistant boss Steve Kean - a man that surely Ronaldinho and his representatives will not have heard of until the club's bid was lodged - as interim manager until at least the end of this campaign has done little to assuage the fears of fans and more than a few analysts that Rovers are now being led by a consortium blissfully unaware of the intricacies of building a successful football club.

No I didn't misunderstand. I see what you are saying and you could well be right, but it's actually in his hands isn't it? He could make them look so much better if he agreed to come so, although current media perceptions, helped by their inability to handle PR, make them look clueless, he could stop a big chunk of that with one signature.

The Rovers fanbase sretches outside the Blackburn boundary!

Do we have 7000 more potential paying fans other than those that regularly go to Ewood? Hard to say as our cheap ST prices has enticed a lot of fans to the ground that would be floating fans otherwise.

To be fair I'd love to have Davies back, if he played for West Ham or Tottingham he'd have 20 caps now. That being said he was sh1t at Rovers.

Many of us have serious misgivings about our new owners but what the f*** does whining on here get us? Venky's are very successful and aren't in the habit of chucking tens of millions down the sh1tter. Some of us refuse to chuck in the towel and wring our hands as if all is lost. I suspect there would be a few Twotters who'd be the same if Venky's had rocked up at the Breezeblock.

You're right, that could be the case however surely he would sooner speak to the owners first to hear their initial plans instead of going off what the media is saying. And even if he was to refer to the media then surely us trying to sign Beckham can do no harm, as they we're good friends at Milan and it could suggest a real intent from the owners as what they are striving to achieve for the club... who knows which way it will go, but at the moment we have had no news... and as they say no news is good news :rover:

Yes they exist. There are a fair few in our very large school. Sole question on everyone's lips this morning is, "Do you think Ronaldinho will come to Rovers, Miss?" A large number of them would come just to see him. If that's multiplied across the borough and the surrounding areas then we could raise most of those ticket buyers. And we all know how you get sucked in if you've once been to a football match live, especially if it turns out well. Asian heritage families like to be associated with success - I've told you that time and time again - so if their town's football club has some big name playes then they will gradually come round to supporting it, especially if they have the boost of seeing some good results too.

We still need a defensive midfielder. My suggestion Mahamadou Diarra. Hardly plays in La Liga and would be a massive improvemt to our team.

Is that the Diarra that used to play for Arsenal, Chelsea and Portsmouth ? If it is now you're talking. Exactly what we need, a player who can cover the back four, get the ball and move it down field without losing it. More use than the "Goofy Playmaker" we're supposedly chasing.

I don't suspect Mr Assis was falling over himself to play for Fat Sam, who he probably won't have heard of either.

He either wants to play in the Premiership for the money, or sit on the beach. I personally suspect the latter but asides from the money, I think that's all it'll come down to. The manager, Venky's lunatic PR and the press are unlikely to factor much into his decision making.
