sweet Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Any news on us being in for warnock? Does make sense since he did so well here and we do need a left back, also his family supposedly still live in the north west.

S60tti_BRFC Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Nicko says its the nearest of all Santa Cruz gone from 4/1 now to evens with Sky Bet, which could suggest it's pretty close...
steo Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 If ronaldinho turns us down and unfortunately i think he will, will venkys look into bringing another big name to ewood?i expect beckham will go to spurs if la galaxy let him go out on loan,i'd be happy with roque and adam but can't see fulham letting duff go because gera is on his way out of fulham,it was encouraging to hear kean say there would be up to 5 new established players at the club, should be a interesting few weeks.
John Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Have put money Santa but slight worry is that plenty of clubs home (and abroad) are in for him.
Roberto Policano Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 We still need a defensive midfielder. My suggestion Mahamadou Diarra. Hardly plays in La Liga and would be a massive improvemt to our team. Joining Malaga last i heard.
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Santa Cruz gone from 4/1 now to evens with Sky Bet, which could suggest it's pretty close... Or its reflecting the money that is now being put on him by a few people!
bigbrandjohn Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Nicko says its the nearest of all With all the talk of Ronaldhino and Beckham, lets just go ugly early and get Betnley to provide Roque with the ammo. Without his accurate crosses Roque will be as free scoring as er.. er.. Kalinic, Roberts. In addition, he is a handful on his day in midfield and who will ever forget the Man Utsd hat trick. Hopefully he is done with the bright lights and fancies a run in a first team. He certainly wont be replacing Lennon or Beckham in the England team where he is now.
Tyrone Shoelaces Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Joining Malaga last i heard. Malaga !!!! What does he want to go there for Roberto ? It's Birmingham By The Sea !
nowthen Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Is there a price freeze on ST prices? Or will there be quite an increase to contribute to funding some of these silly wages?
Mattyblue Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Is there a price freeze on ST prices? Or will there be quite an increase to contribute to funding some of these silly wages? Next season's prices are going to be interesting...
Roberto Policano Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Malaga !!!! What does he want to go there for Roberto ? It's Birmingham By The Sea ! Money, but now you seem to have plenty, you should join the race.
67splitscreen Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Looks like the spammers deal for Ba is not going to happen.
gumboots Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Or its reflecting the money that is now being put on him by a few people! Heard a bookie say the other day that in relatively small markets which this will be, even a £10 bet changes the odds significantly.
Steve Moss Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Sorry if mentioned before. Latest from Italy is Ronnie is very much looking to the World Cup - in Brasil 2014. Positive on the one hand as it'll keep him focussed - negative in that he'd be better off playing in Brasil. Didn't Benni Mac have (allegedly) the same motivation? We all know how that turned out. Why is she mentioning Allardyce? I think she has the mistaken belief that those who are outraged at his firing are loyal to Sam. So she tries to support Kean by referencing that Sam was of a similar opinion. Perhaps she is not clued in that we are all Rovers fans [regardless of our positions on these boards], and we react based on what we think [rightly or wrongly] is positive or negative for the club, the individuals being only incidental? No surprise there then but the pimply teenagers on here still won't believe it. I wonder if their mums have ordered the Ronaldino shirt yet ? . It's called realism. Why get excited over something that is not going to happen ? The time to get excited is when we make some signings that are realistic targets, such as Charlie Adam. And supporters still don't get it over the club's plight. Kean appears to me to be the reincarnation of Paul Ince. You can put your head in the sand if you wish but others can see what is blindingly obvious. Jim, I generally agree with your football posts, even though your economics and political opinions are miles off. However, you do neither your argument or personal credibility any good with the personal attacks. In fact, I believe you are damaging both. As someone who thinks you have something to contribute to the debate, please consider jettisoning the personal attacks while sticking with your realistic opinions. I think Mrs D has a bit to learn about football protocol. She is too honest. I think this is spot on. And its actually a bit refreshing. And good karma. We should keep in mind that it might actually be a positive to have an owner willing to coommunicate with the fans. But maybe we are upset as: 1) this is not what we've been conditioned for by the Walker Trust; and, 2) we are sceptical of the brothers who apparently aren't as clued in.
PAFELL Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Descending to immature insult as usual when you are backed into a corner Alan? Rest assured your type would never get past the door at my club. Like most in your profession you will avoid facts like the plague but anyway ........ http://www.rovers.co.uk/page/Attendance/ or http://itv.stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/PR/attend.html Current average given as almost 24000 and we haven't had our usual top attractions of Lpool and MU here yet. Scope therefore for 7000 at the very best. Not to be sniffed at for sure but never let the facts get in the way of a good story eh? Don't forget there has been talk / plans to redevelop the riverside. That would increase the capacity. There are also glory hunters who would come just to watch one particular player. If the team does well, that would increae the attendances. I think both you and Nicko are right, the attendance would increase between 7 to 10 thousand.
Craigman Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Sky Breaking news: Ronaldinho will not be sold to Blackburn..

Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Sky Breaking news: Ronaldinho will not be sold to Blackburn.. Looks like some of us were right. I dont doubt an attempt was made and probably an excellent one financially. But he wasnt going to join us.
AspRover Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 shame really, with all the hyper attacking midfield lineups people were bandying around I was looking forward to the excitement of losing every game 7:6...
hawkiiz Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Any more that the "will not be sold"?? Not much...
Wild Irish Rover Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Sky News strapline in the gym stating that Ronaldinho will NOT be sold to the Rovers. Thank goodness for that - I wasn't looking forward to dancing naked in Witton Park whilst eating my hat.
mckenny16 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Looks like some of us were right. I dont doubt an attempt was made and probably an excellent one financially. But he wasnt going to join us. Well done. Most of us knew it was a long shot, but we enjoyed it. Well done for being negative from the start. I honestly enjoyed hearing people say Ronaldinho and Rovers in the same sentence. I wasn't naive enough to think that it was ever going to be much more than a long shot.

If you read my posts, I was actually excited at the "fantasy" of it, but any person with half a brain would know that it was a long-shot, as you said, and considering all the parameters at play, unlikely that he will come to us, irrespective of the money on the table. Call it negative, or call it realistic, whatever pleases you.
hawkiiz Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Thank goodness for that - I wasn't looking forward to dancing naked in Witton Park whilst eating my hat. Yeah, dodged a bullet there..... If he is for sure not joining us, that means he must have signed for someone.
fozzer Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Right Lets see how we get on with spending that 20 odd spare million! Sound la!
