67splitscreen Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Foreign clubs can talk to EPL players with 6 months left on their contracts were we can't without permission, I think that's correct. So does the the same apply for us in the case of Ronnie, or anyone else for that matter outside the FA/EPL

Valois Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 SSN - "Milan have not received ANY bids" Really, you dont say
philipl Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I think the point is that we had understood Mrs D had made a bid of E8m to AC and AC are saying they have not received one from Rovers or am I missing something here?
jim mk2 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Bloody hell lads and lasses! I've been reading this thread over the last couple of days in increasing wonder. Everybody laughs when Newcastle United screw up their club and supporters yet again, of course we do. But I now see a large number of supposedly hard-nosed Rovers fans (not all, it must be said) on here blindly ignoring the Venky's terminal ineptitude in football club governance. THIS WHOLE SORRY MESS WILL END IN TEARS. Shouting "lal la la" at the top of your voices will not make it better. There's too many posts containing the phrase "Let's hope that..." on here for it to be healthy. And before anyone says it - many Bolton fans would be reacting in the same stupid way if we were in your current unfortunate position. I've tried to let you down gently - but it's not easy. Too blooming right it will end in tears. The trouble is, there are very few on here who can see it, or choose not to, and those that can see it are shouted down or given all sorts of abuse.
John Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I am well behind news wise, but just read that Santa Cruz may Wolfsburg? Possibly as part of the Edin Dzeko deal. Not sure if this is an old rumour.
S15 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Too blooming right it will end in tears. The trouble is, there are very few on here who can see it, or choose not to, and those that can see it are shouted down or given all sorts of abuse. No Jim, it's those who 'can see it' that give the abuse.
daveoftherovers Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 SSN - "Milan have not received ANY bids" / This the same SSN that posts 97% rubbish and relishes ripping the urine out of any club that isn't one of (their) top 5, and as Nicko quite rightly states, don't most of the media currently have a fair amount of egg on their faces over this? Who gives a flying what SSN says??? If our chairwoman has said we've made an offer then I'm happy with that.
Roost Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Too blooming right it will end in tears. The trouble is, there are very few on here who can see it, or choose not to, and those that can see it are shouted down or given all sorts of abuse. Yawn Yawn Yawn................... Jim, please give it a rest. Its painful.
nicko Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 SSN - "Milan have not received ANY bids" It's at times like this that I actially miss the perceptive cutting knowledge and impeccable contacts of...Stroke Boy.
dom_rog Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I am well behind news wise, but just read that Santa Cruz may Wolfsburg? Possibly as part of the Edin Dzeko deal. Not sure if this is an old rumour. Think RSC said he wanted to stay in the north west of England because of his family
B.R.F.C Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Take a breath. There has been nothing remotely illegal about Ronaldinho approach, Adam interest or the Duff story. The Barca kid will be legit too as they want him out. FFS. Why does everybody need to jump on a bandwagon? For the first window in ages there are players getting stacked up on their way to Ewood. Let it happen and put the hair shirt away. Finally a bit of common sense about the whole scenario. Too much drivel and dross being thrown about here at the moment when the clear facts amd quotes suggest Ronaldinhos agent is impressed with our offer and that we have attempted to sign him according to Ms Desai. As for Harry Redknapps comments...lets not talk about how he deals with transfers.
booth Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Wenger wants Ronaldihno at Rovers! Says it's good for the league.
wandel77 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Santa is of to Lazio ! according to danish media.
imy9 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Wow what a day its been so far! just managed to read through the days events. So: 1. Potentially a two time world player of the year is coming. 2. A midfield player who can pass the ball and has vision may be coming in Adam. 3. A PL striker who has shown he can do it in the league may be coming on loan. 4. A promising striker from Barcelonas 'B' team may be arriving. Now stick in a defensive midfield player and I would be jubilant. As they say talk is cheap, I am going to judge the owners on what they actually do. Have to say the number of people at work today (who used to make the chicken jokes) who had their mouths firmly shut at the Ronaldinho chase gave me a wry smile, I reckon that is how a lot of the press are feeling (they probably reckon he should be going with 'ld Harry at Spurs)
aXept Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Santa is of to Lazio ! according to danish media. He wouldnt go there because of his family in England... Old news..
CrazyIvan Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 It's quite comical all of this will he won't he stuff. Sky must try to remember that there's a fairly large time difference between here and South America but I guess no news is a good excuse to make some up... The prospect of Ronaldinho in a Rovers shirt, no matter what the negatories say, is exciting no matter how remote it is. Will I get carried away? Don't be daft.
Torgeir Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Rovers should be pipping Tottenham for Louis Suarez. Hes a runner, a never say die player, still young enough to improve further, and more importantly a proven goalscorer. As ideal of a player you could get to have playing with Ronaldinho. Aye. But I don't think we're there yet. What's his price tag, I'll guess somewhere between £15-20m...
Bobby G Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Nicko, based on everything you know, and despite Brazilian media reporting that Ronaldinho is offered over 100k a week by Palmeiras/Flamengo, how much of a difference financially are the packages?
hawkiiz Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Aye. But I don't think we're there yet. What's his price tag, I'll guess somewhere between £15-20m... £17m I read early today. But yes, we should. He is absolutely brilliant.
Hughesy Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Wenger wants Ronaldihno at Rovers! Says it's good for the league. Give us Vela on loan too then
BuckyRover Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 The top rate of tax in Brazil is 27.5%. Here he will be taking home less than half of the figure talked about (due to 50% tax rate plus NI). That must make a difference.
