Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 It's barely lunchtime in Brazil would he really need to wait until tomorrow?
Roost Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted on twitter, and should be on their website. It says his brother is meeting Gremio tomorrow to iron out things. ....and thats exactly why its still up in the air.
tony gale's mic Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted on twitter, and should be on their website. It says his brother is meeting Gremio tomorrow to iron out things. Again its according to Globoesporte, so I dont know if they know the whole deal or not. Yeah just checked their website, googletranslate: Another chapter of the novel Ronaldinho, now with an Italian accent and possible happy ending to the Guild: the site of the newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport published on the afternoon of Tuesday the 80 shirt already agreed a contract with the club from Porto Alegre and the official announcement of the hiring will be made later on Tuesday. The Gazzetta "is making a real-time negotiations in January and published in Milan at 19h21m (16h41m GMT) Ronaldinho who said yes to the proposal of the Guild and that" agreement was formalized in a few minutes ago. "The text also states that the crack will begin a new era in his career, now in Brazil. A third have been numerous reports on the future of Ronaldinho. In addition to the Guild, the brother and agent of the ace, Roberto Assis, is also negotiating with Flamengo and Palmeiras since late 2010. But during the day became interested in Corinthians, which had the support to convince the namesake Ronaldo Gaucho playing at Parque São Jorge. In Europe, Blackburn confirmed that talks with representatives of the attacking midfielder. The advantage of the English club is the economic power of the Indian Venky's, which recently bought the team: Ronaldinho would earn U.S. $ 53.8 million in two years. It appears to be all over tbh. They're in Brazil where the talks are taking place, they'd have more of an inside line and more relevant sources than nicko or any other journalist here I'd imagine.
Seggie Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Who pays for all this and how ? Adam alone would cost some £5m. Call me boring, alarmist, pessimist but I always like to know how to pay the milkman at the end of the week. Chelsea of old, Leeds (Ridsdale - let's live the dream) and Portsmouth all spring to mind. These are legitamate concerns although I get the feeling Rovers are a pawn in a get rich quick scheme for the Venkys brand. I think they believe if they use Rovers to its max potential they can sell more chickens and I suspect that this is the reason why we are being linked with silly season players such as Beckham and Ronnie. Their advertising power alone and recognisability accross the world is probably worth the wages to Venkys, Rovers being successful is a by product to them and doesn't really matter as long as they get TV Money for their superstars, they get seen with superstars and their chicken is being bought on the back of these superstars. The only thing which would be disastorous for them is if Rovers ended up in the Championship, but then they would probably have a fire sale and recoup their cash and parachute payments sell the club minus Ewood and rent it back at a considerable rate. I think its important to question their motives and Venkys are obviously good at business and to them ££££ will come first but if Rovers are successful they get perhaps one of the most powerful marketing tools in the world albeit a small town club.
Craigman Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Gazzetta dello Sport also says that he will sign for Gremio
Veevs Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 The scope for Venkys to expand with Ronnie is massive, I don't think many people are getting what this would do for them, and by association, for us.2 weeks ago nobody in Brazil, or in any South American country, really knew who Venkys were. Or us, for that matter. We don't have many South American fans on here do we? Now imagine 'Mr Brazil' signs for us. He's the Real Joga Bonito man, the Brazillians can't get enough of him. There would be posters of him around the world grinning in a Rovers top, soon to be sponsored by Venkys I would expect. You can't really put a price on the amount of publicity and interest that would be generated overseas alone, not to mention on the playing side of things, as already mentioned. Think of all the indirect consequences, can you imagine the scramble to get shirt sponsorship or kit manufacturer if we had Ronnie modelling it? People would be queueing up to pay big money to sponsor us because they know how popular Ronaldinho is, not just in Brazil but around the world. I do have a feeling this big push for Brazilians is linked too other things outside of football, Venkys (see previous posted corporate article quoting one of the brothers.. who oddly sounded very professional) are trying too build close links with South America especially Brazil added to that India, China and Brazil are the key parts of the new world finance power of southern countries (cheaper import export taxes between them too build a conglomerate that can compete with the West) so the more advertising out there the better for them. And guys dont forget our mate Ronnie will come with image rights most probably owned by him so advertising revenue, shirt sales etc will mostly go too him (Beckham deal was very diff as a loan). But if Venkys brothers pay and no debt gets put on Rovers, it would be a fun signing. As for other links, was it Nicko who mentioned a few signings by the weekend? Venkys worth overall is closser to 1bil dollars, a healthy sum for just the chicken side of things (excluding big work in pharma industry etc), not too worried about their finances, more worried what they will do to us if we fail. Personally on the Kean signing a new 3 yr contract, who is too say the contract is for Manager.. not head coach etc.. Odds on they cant just terminate his current contract and give him a 6 month managers contract but they will have too pay him a bit more too act as manager too end of season or why would he want too do the job. I do have a niggling feeling we will see a marque director of football within the next 2 weeks, someone along the lines of maradona, van basten, shearer etc.. Would love Adam perm and cruz as a loan, would be enough too keep us in the league imo... we get any more and many of us will be happy bunnies even the doubters... just as long as the money is covered and properly covered... None of us want a Portsmouth, Newc, Leeds, Southampton, Hull, Norwich etc etc scenario.
Torgeir Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 So Ronaldinho got an offer from Blackburn Rovers with a certain deadline. Then him and his agent/brother went to Brazil waving that offer to the Brazilian clubs in hope that they would come close to matching it. If they did then he'd come home and aim for the world cup in his home country. If they don't come close he might choose us. Fingers crossed
blue/white Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Blackpool v Birmingham? Manchester Airport? Stringfellows? Pune? Rio de janiero? Los Angeles? Abu Dhabi having tea w/ Mr & Mrs Allardyce???
Anti-Dingle-Brigade Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Guess the 11 O'Clocker or any other related news doesn't concern Ron. Thing is, it doesn't matter if Ron would rather go to Gremio if they can't afford to pay AC what they want for him? Late outbid go go go.
Dunnfc Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 soap opera involving the possible return of Ronaldinho to the Brazilian soccer can take unexpected shapes in its final stages. Under the Radar column on-line, Veja magazine, Corinthians came strong in the fight for Milan player. According to the column, the president Andres Sanchez had met on Monday with the brother and agent of Ronaldinho, Assis, and presented an official proposal. In addition, striker Ronaldo would also have been involved in negotiating and spoken by telephone with Assis. A new sponsor, interested in the dual meet again Ro-Ro on the same team was behind the negotiations. The company would use the space on the shorts of the Corinthians, he will be available in February. Besides the supposed interest of the Corinthians, Palmeiras, Gremio and Flamengo have already expressed a desire to have Ronaldinho. Assisi has maintained constant contact with representatives of these clubs and the player's destination can be set at any time. On the afternoon of Tuesday, the production of Globo Esporte call the president Andrés Sanchez, Corinthians, who again denied any attempt to repatriate the Brazilian, Milan.
hawkiiz Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 He is at Gremio today, so why wait untill tomorrow? Anyway, if he does go to Gremio we were never in the running anyway. No other club ever was. I still don't think it is over though.
TugaysMarlboro Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 From Gazzetalia Dellio Sportio with the aid of some shockingly bad Google translation thrown in: 19:21 - Ronaldinho has chosen yes to the proposal of the Gremio was formalized in a few minutes ago. The brother's attorney reached an agreement with the club that launched the international playmaker. In the next hours is expected the official announcement which will open the new era of Gaucho career. In Brazil.
Backroom DE. Posted January 4, 2011 Backroom Posted January 4, 2011 Whilst few will match Ronaldinho as a "marquee" signing, there are far superior players to be spending that kind of money on if the Venky brothers still want to spend it. It's just a case of convincing them to sign for Blackburn and play for an unknown manager.
67splitscreen Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 ....and thats exactly why its still up in the air. The headline says: Italian newspaper says that Ronaldinho has agreed a contract with Gremio Second 'Gazzetta dello Sport, the official announcement will be made later on Tuesday That sounds to me like yesterdays news in Italy.

I agree - not too concerned he is in Brazil as our main man is also in Brazil doign the discussions with Ronnies brother - i also think that Mrs Venkys has also stated that she would potentially increase the offer if required. As Nicko said, its money or playing in his homeland. Has anyone seen Kean at Manc airport boarding a flight to Rio De Janiero (that`s my guess of where the manager will be tonight)
des Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 well first time in years that its been worth reading
Backroom DE. Posted January 4, 2011 Backroom Posted January 4, 2011 Name a few obtainable ones then. Did you not understand the last sentence of my post? I'm suggesting it'd be very very difficult. To be honest I'm not sure a club of our stature with an unknown manager could attract anybody of Ronnie's calibre. Quite literally all we really have to throw at them is money and the chance to play in the Premier League.
tony gale's mic Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Has anyone seen Kean at Manc airport boarding a flight to Rio De Janiero (that`s my guess of where the manager will be tonight) No because he'd have to go to Heathrow or change somewhere...

imy9 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 I'll wait til 11 until I believe what is happening, based on what BPF said it may not be over yet, remember we had a false alarm yesterday too.
hawkiiz Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 So can one of you explain to me how Gremio can confirm any deal if they have not been talking to Milan? Up until a few hours ago, no bid had been made, right?
dazmaz Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 No because he'd have to go to Heathrow or change somewhere... or no because we have a game tomorrow night and he wont be back in time!
